Fantastic

  • 4 of 5

The property was very nice with a beautifully landscaped back yard that included a hot tub. The furniture was nice, a little dated but it gave it a charming, homey feel; the beds being very comfortable. The house itself is divided into what looked like three units but we had the property all to ourselves the first 3 days. It's located close to Mt. Douglas park so there's a nice hike close by. It's also pretty close to the east coast and Córdoba Bay which has a marina, fine restaurant and a golf course. Misty Woods was exactly as advertised as it was a short 10 minute drive to Victoria and a 10 minute drive to Butchart Gardens. If you go to the gardens take the time to go into Brentwood Bay just a little further North. The Seahorse Cafe had great chowder and they also had Kayak rentals if you didn't bring your own. The only down side to the property was a fairly busy road behind it. There's a big fence so you can't see it and with the windows closed you can't hear it much but we're the windows-open-fresh-air kind. Still, our hosts were great people to deal with and we'd definitely stay there again! You'll enjoy it as much as we did!!

Great property and good location.

In short, this is a great property, gorgeous back yard, and well maintained. Don takes good care of his customers. One can book with confidence. We will be back, probably to his other properties closer to downtown.

Loved it and highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

The accommodation exceeded my expectations as I was initially very hesitant to rent based on photographs and without a personal visit.

Did not have the pleasure of meeting Don and Anne as other reviewers have described but their substitutes Sal and Jessica were very helpful and went out or their way to be helpful.

The spaghetti, sauce and bottle of wine were there as another reviewer has described but little did they know that we are vegetarians and teetotalers so couldn't avail ourselves of this treat. In my opinion it is the thought that counts and would have no hesitation in booking a future visit :)

My wife who is very particular about these things thought the place was clean and tidy. Was surprised by the weekly housekeeping service and my son who stayed for the entire month thought that it was a particular god send, as he could concentrate on his studies.

Lucked out with the weather and took advantage of the backyard, which is well maintained by Sal. Victoria is a beautiful city and we took the hour and a half bus tour which gave us a sense of history and how the city planners have blended the old with the new.

Would have no hesitation in recommending a stay in this family friendly neighborhood and we were even graced by a visit from the deer that seems to be at home in the surrounding yards. This seemed to sum up the idyllic and peaceful nature of the area. As Don has said to "just bring the food" as everything else is provided. Did not get a chance to enjoy the hot tub in the back yard and hope to do that in a future visit.

Outstanding Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

The property description and pictures were accurate in all regards.

The location of the rental is very nice. Quiet, Peaceful and Beautifully kept yard. The condo is very neat and clean, as well as well equipped.

The hospitality provided by the owners is great, though unfortunately we missed out on our opportunity to have an evening with them. All of the makings of a spaghetti dinner were left in the freezer or on the counter, including a bottle of wine upon our arrival.

I would recommend this rental to friends and relatives without any hesitation. A great spot for a getaway.

Super Stay at SuperSuites

  • 5 of 5

Don and Anna made the stay incredibly homey and easy.

My children had a great time in the beautiful back yard. We also enjoyed great conversation and warm barn fire which Don and Anna invited all of us to.

Anna even prepared us our dinner when we first arrive. Don brought my children all the toys he can find in the house, and those kind gestures really touched our hearts.

Thank you, Don and Anna!

Hope to see you again this summer.

Owner's Response: Scott it was so enjoyable watching your two little kids sitting in front of the fire sipping on some hot chocolate. To us, that's what the yard is all about and we are just happy they could enjoy it.

Really good time on the island

  • 5 of 5

First I rented the place for one week than ended up staying for 4,5 months. The apartment itself is nice, bright and clean. Equipped with everything you need for a long term stay. It´s a shame that it was too cold to use the outdoor space. The neighborhood is very quiet. Anne and Don are helping you with whatever you would like to know and are never short of interesting conversation topics. Keep an eye on Topas the cat if she´s around. Thank you for a great time at your place.

We are within reach of 12 golf courses that are open year round. A Golfers heaven. Great winter course is just 5 minutes away.

Victoria is a haven for Canadians and Europeans who want to escape a harsh winter. We have foliage and green grass year round.

It will normally snow only once per year in Victoria. Some say we have a bylaw that it must b e gone by noon the next day.

Very seldom does the winter temperature go below freezing. We have the most palm trees in all of Canada.

World famous Butchard Gardens nearby, attracts 1,500,000 visitors yearly.
