About Kirby and Mariya Vandivort
We are a midwestern couple that normally enjoy the flat cornfields of Illinois, but we love to get away when we can. We personally manage our vacation home and look forward to sharing it with you!
Kirby and Mariya Vandivort purchased this Condo in 2011
Why Kirby and Mariya Vandivort chose South Island
We researched a million (slight exaggeration) different places, and Fort Myers Beach is where we wanted to be. It's warm enough on The Beach to enjoy winter here, but the cool breezes off the Gulf make summer extremely enjoyable as well. And, the other seasons (spring and autumn) are great, too, because the weather is excellent and there aren't any crowds.
What makes this Condo unique
The views here are absolutely stunning (just check out our reviews and see what most people comment on). We looked at a bunch of different properties (no exaggeration) and this one won... because of the view. Location, location, location. We are up high enough, on the 11th floor, that we can see beautiful sunsets, and the wide side of the balcony/lanai on our condo faces northwest, right towards the widest beach on the island. (Another perk of being on the 11th floor is that bugs seldom get up that high) The end of the balcony faces southwest, so we get to see beautiful sunsets regardless of what time of year it is. Also, as you can see on the map, our condo is on the southern end of the island, which is definitely the 'quieter' end. We really like this, and it is just one of the things that makes us want to go back again and again and again.

This was our 2nd time staying in this unit & our 3rd time at Estero Beach & Tennis Club. It is clean & comfortable and is a great location in the C building and on a corner. We started & ended our days on the balcony watching the pelican squadron, frigate birds, ospreys & the dolphins. The shopping center across the street is very convenient with several restaurants. We would recommend this property to anyone considering a stay.
Steps from the beach
We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was cozy, but the panoramic view of the gulf through all of the windows made it feel more expansive. The condo was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Loved the flybys from the pelicans morning and evening. The location was so convenient to Bonita Springs and other locations on Fort Myers Beach. Highly recommend it.
We really enjoyed the condo. The view was just beautiful, great location, enough parking, the unit was fairly well equipped and very clean. I would say it was everything it was advertised to be. We had a great time in and around the area, enjoyed the beach and the weather, 80s all week. Our only complaint was the bed mattress needs to be replaced, it has a big depression on the one side. My wife and changed sides and both had issues with the bed.
Perfect way to say farewell to Winter and welcome Spring
We had perfect weather, 80° and sunny every day, and the balcony overlooking the beach easily became our favorite “room.” If there was room for a bed we probably would have slept out there!
Strolls along the beach and opportunity to unwind and read were highlights for us.
Outstanding view great shelling right outside your door.
The room was a bit noisy you could hear the elevators going up and down and the ac/heater is like many hotels have and is also noisy. The room was very clean, great shower but there was no fan in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed. The traffic in the area at this time of year was awful, but had no problem finding a restaurant and getting seated right away. Parking was also a problem, not on the property but in the local town.
Perfect view, location, and price. Ft Myers Beach weather in February is warm enough for sunning and swimming. There are several great restaurants right across the street, so once u get here no car is needed. I would love to go back.
