We have a variety of rental cabins to meet your need for any getaway - family vacation, friendly outing or romantic interlude. Several modern, knotty pine cabins nestled in a wooded setting along the Bennett Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek in the shadows of Moshannon and Elk State Forests. Five cabins with two bedrooms each - one which is handicap / wheelchair accessible and five 'romantic' cabins with great room including a whirlpool tub fit for two to use! Separate utility shanty / community building includes phone, TV/VCR/DVD, the main hub for high speed wireless internet access (7 total hubs on grounds), coin operated washer/dryer, games, reading materials and information on local attractions.
Cabins sleep from one to six people per cabin.
The cabin grounds are arranged to provide privacy at each cabin yet allow group gatherings to have ease of movement. Picnic pavilion on the grounds (four 6 person tables) with its own fire ring.
Great place to enjoy all that mother nature can offer in Pennsylvania - plenty of woods, trails, and wildlife in the area including the largest free-roaming elk herd east of the Mississippi.

We have been open since October, 2003 and have gained a good bit of repeat guests and word-of-mouth marketing is starting to work. The grounds have grown over from the buiding of Wapiti Woods and we have been able to make improvments with lighting and electrity into the pavilion, brochure racks and book/movie shelves in the shanty and landscaping. It has turned out to be a real sweet hideaway for people. Real proud of our accomplishment - so far!!!
Great dealing with these folks. Awesome scenery right on the river.
My husband and I were looking for a nice relaxing getaway and truly found it at Wapiti Woods Cabins.
We stayed in cabin 1......no TV, no Cell Phone service, no Internet, was at the furthest point from the parking lot (you are not allowed to drive up to the cabins, but are given a large luggage cart to bring your things to your cabin).
The cabin was VERY clean and well appointed with just about anything we could need.
The wood that was provided for the fire ring was plentiful and if by some chance you actually ran out, you are able to buy extra right there on the property.
The charcoal grill looked to be brand new and we did indeed enjoy using it for a steak dinner. Everything you could possibly need was provided in the kitchen.
The bed was somewhat hard, but it was a futon, so I did expect that and did not mind that for a couple of nights.
Honestly, the pictures online do not do the property enough justice.
Other than the one meal we cooked at the cabin, we ate at the Benezette Hotel and at the Medix Run Hotel. The Benezette Hotel was simply delicious for dinner and Medix Run Hotel was very good while we ate bar food.
We were able to spot Elk on Winslow Hill Rd and also a bear cub.
We will definitely be returning to Wapiti Woods Cabins!
