Hughes Retreat Condominiums - Unit #303. PET FRIENDLY, Wireless Internet, Washer/Dryer/ This is a 3rd floor condo in Kill Devil Hills across the street from the beach. Public beach access is approx. 1 block south of Hughes (w/parking). Nice views of the ocean from the deck as you relax in our rocking chairs in the cool breeze. The interior is decorated in beach themes & pastels with every amenity you would need in the full kitchen. Two bedrooms each have a king size bed and the third bedroom has a pyramid bed (sleeps two on the bottom and one on the top plus a trundle bed pulls out from underneath). If the pyramid bed is not for you, then pull out the queen size sleep sofa in the living room and make yourself more comfortable. Each bedroom has its own Cable TV and a 40" HDTV in the living room as well as a Blu-Ray DVD w/WiFi. There is an elevator so you can go up to the 3rd floor easily. Pool (20'x30') available & 2 covered parking spaces.

Pet Friendly: We welcome Pets!! In fact, we have a little black lab and a golden retriever! There is a non-refundable pet fee of $100 charged to renters. There are quiet streets nearby to walk your pets. Please be considerate and clean up after your pet. Pets are not allowed on the beaches without a leash.

Printed here for your convenience is the Kill Devil Hills town law as it pertains to pets:

Between May 15 and September 15 of each year, no dogs shall be permitted on the public beach between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. unless being used to aid a handicapped person. At all other times, no dogs shall be permitted on the public beaches except upon a leash and under the control of owner or handler. Please clean up after your pet.

Our condo is close to restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. You can easily walk over to the beach across the street from our condo building. We also have an elevator, which makes it easier to get to our 3rd floor condo.

Thankful for a GREAT get-a-way!!

Our family JUST returned from our Thanksgiving stay at this AMAZING condo! First - Working with the owners was a breeze! We made our plans a bit last minute for a holiday week - but Linda made things simple-so booking was a breeze! Then the condo itself was everything you see and more! Clean and new - bright, fully stocked and decorated just lovely! My mom is a self proclaimed neat/clean freak, the kind that always travels with her own container of Clorox wipes and a can of Lysol... We've stayed in several rentals over the years - NONE have been as clean as this one - she was extreamly impressed! The ocean is just across the street - a great grocery store only 1/2 a mile away (you can see it it's so close!), honestly in Kill Devil Hills you are smack dab in the middle of anything you might want to do or see on the Outer Banks. Go north to see the wild horses - go south to see the Hatteras light, just up the road to see the Wright brothers Memorial or down the road to Jockey Ridge State Park - the central location is perfect! The whole building smells new - the elevator is a god-send for loading and unloading - the building was quiet - and with only 12 units and very involved owners (we met 2 of them) the property is well maintained and well watched over. We really appreciated that the property was pet friendly since my family rarely travels without a dog - and the elevator made things handicapped friendly which was a blessing too - my 90 year old grandfather loved that he could get down to the car on his own if he got tired of waiting for us (he can be a bit impatient...). We loved every second we spent at the condo and hope to do it again someday.... it was a perfect escape from the typical holiday at home! Oh - and the disposable roasting pan and cute card waiting on the counter when we arrived - was a great surprise and a lovely touch! Thank you so much for letting us stay at your condo - while we were away we spoke with several friends and family members and have told everyone that we know of a great place if they plan to visit the Outer Banks! If you like nice, clean, neat, comfortable accomodations - need pet or handicapped friendly accomodations, desire a central location to best see the sights and want to work with great owners-and/or HATE hotels, then book this condo for a visit - you will not be sorry! But please - respect the property if you go - so that when we return it's just as beautiful as it was on our last visit! Enjoy!

Incredible!

We have been coming to the OBX for about 15 years now. We have stayed in several places from Duck to Rodanthe with different companies. Nothing has topped this lovely condo! it has it all! A pleasant surprise was a cart to bring the luggage and goodies up from the car. The elevator and cart made unloading and loading much easier, especially since we are 54 and 61. The ability to bring our beloved dog, Bella, (a dachshund) made this place perfect! It is so clean and well stocked. Roomy. Not worn out or old looking. Bright and cheerful. Love the large deck and rockers!. Pool was clean and comfy- great for just 12 condos! Covered parking keeps you out of the rain and sun for loading and unloading. Close to the beach- drive or walk. Nags head beaches are virtually a 1/2 block or so- allowing dogs with short leashes anytime. The owners are easy to work with and quick to respond to questions, concerns, etc. We have just booked our stay for 2016, and we are sure that this visit will be even better than this year. i have a feeling this will be our vacation home from now on.

perfect location, clean, beautifully decorated, king size beds were really comfortable. our "neighbors" commented on the luggage cart. short walk to the beach easy for the little ones. walk to stores and restaurants.

Thanks for a GREAT stay!

What a great place to stay on the Outer Banks! It is VERY centrally located and not too far of a walk to the beach. It is an excellent place to come to for handicapped guests. We enjoyed flying kites, visiting the Wright Brothers Memorial, climbing Jocky Ridge and going to the Lost Colony. The condo and surrounding property is well maintained and quite inviting to guests. It had been a while since I have stayed at a privately owned condo, so as a gentle reminder don't forget the little things from home: sheets, towels, toliet paper, paper towels and dish washing soap. Although - there is a great grocery store nearby! Oh - and ABSOLUTELY go by and visit Duck Donuts. You will NOT regret it!

Perfect condo for a single family

The condo was exactly as described and met all of our needs. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and were very responsive throughout the booking process. The property was very clean and it was a very short / easy walk to the beach. Added bonus was the number of good restaurants within walking distance of the condo. Overall I thought the property was an excellent value and would definitely stay again.

***PETS ARE WELCOME***Located in Kill Devil Hills near Milepost 10, and Nags Head. The beach is located directly across the street behind the Quality Inn. Public beach access is approx. 1/4 mi. north(walking path) or south (public parking at this access) of our driveway. The pool is located on the property directly behind the building. It is fenced in and there are lounging chairs available. We also have chairs and other beach items located in our storage room on the ground floor under the carport. Grocery stores, drugstores and shopping are within walking distance as well as restaurants. We are located between two very nice restaurants, Kill Devil Diner and The Flying Fish. The Public Boat Ramp is available on Bay Drive for Soundside use. **Currituck Lighthouse at the northern end of Rt. 12, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Hatteras Island Lighthouse and Ocracoke Island Lighthouse can be visited in nice day trips. Ride the Free car ferry from Hatteras Island to Ocracoke.

  • In each bedroom a cable TV is mounted on the wall and is accessible with/a remote control. **Nautical Theme (Master Bedroom) is very spacious and has a king size bed, 2 bedside tables w/lamps on each table, and one dresser. The Lighthouse bathroom adjoins this room and is very private with tub/shower. This bedroom is also very private because it is at the end of the condo away from the other 2 bedrooms. **Seashell/Puppies theme (2nd bedroom) has a king size bed, 1 bedside table w/lamp and one dresser. This bedroom is located at the other end of the condo next to the front door of the condo. **Flip-flop theme 3rd bedroom has a pyramid bed w/trundle. It is like a bunk bed, with a single bed on top, a double bed on the bottom, and a single trundle bed that stores underneath the beds and can be rolled out to use. **The Fish Bathroom (2nd bath) is located across the hall from bedroom #2 & #3. Both bathrooms have a complete tub w/shower
