Kona Plaza, located right in the heart of Kailua-Kona, is a quiet and private condominium building within walking distance of everything you want to do in Kona. Just across the street, you can go to the beach, the pier, shopping, and to the best restaurants in town. This condo unit (303) is located on the third floor overlooking beautiful Kailua Bay with a direct ocean view.

The condo has one bedroom with a new King sized bed and a very comfortable queen size foldout couch in the living room (sleeps 2-4 people). Blow up mattresses are also available if the kids want to sleep on the lanai (Our boys love sleeping outdoors on the lanai). The condo has recently been partially renovated and redecorated in a tropical and comfortable island style. It includes a fully equipped kitchen for cooking (no dishwasher) as well as a washer/dryer inside the unit.

Guests of Kona Plaza unit 303 can enjoy the onsite pool, sun decks, BBQ area, and secure onsite garage parking. Nearby, you will find additional shops, art galleries, beach apparel stores, hair salons, spas, jewelry stores, and great restaurants.

This location is perfect for Ironman. You can watch the swimming portion of the competition from the lanai or one of the sundecks and the marathon (on Ali'i Dr) from the lanai as well. Spinner Dolphins jump for your entertainment almost daily! The huge sliding glass doors out to the lanai overlook Ali'i Drive and the ocean. However, when you go to sleep you don't want to hear the action on Ali'i Drive! Fortunately, the glass sliding doors are made of soundproof glass and provide a very quiet experience for everyone in the unit. Central air conditioning is provided.

What makes this condo unique

This unit is as close to central Kailua-Kona as you can get. Go down the stairs or use the elevator and be in the middle of everything Kona has to offer. Including one of the closest rentals to the start line of Ironman. Underground secure parking is a rare bonus in Kona. Watch marine life like Spinner Dolphins and Humpbacks, harbor boats, cruise ships, submarines and harbor activities from the living room and lanai!

Great place & location

We enjoyed our stay in the condo. It has everything you need and more (snorkel/ beach gear) and is in a great location. The condo is currently being renovated, it seems very close to being done. This didn't change our experience, just something to note. The AC was barely working but they had maintenance coming right after we left, and the owners have lots of fans that worked well. Bed was big and comfortable, everything was very clean and it was a very quiet complex at night.

Super location. Spacious condo

Well stocked property. Super interactions with Mary and Tracy. Special mention that they could accommodate for an early check in. And allow us use of snorkel gear on day of check out till late in the day.

Well appointed condo with water view large lanai. Location best in Kona.

Condo was perfect we stayed two weeks. Easy access to highways and walking distance to snorkeling and restaurants. Great having secure underground parking so unless you have the urge to explore, everything is walkable. Nice large salt water pool. Very few people ever swimming or sunning. Barbecue steps away on same floor to grill meals. Again spent many evenings with husband enjoying the sunset and tropical winds. Information supplied by owner very informative and helpful. Most relaxing place to stay on the islands. Love the Big Island and hope you will be lucky enough to stay at this amazing property. Mahalo!

Great location in the heart of town.

The condo unit is in the heart of downtown right behind the stores on Ali'i Drive. As people have noted before, the AC units from those stores are pretty loud so you won't be hearing the waves, but we found we got used to it really quickly and did end up spending a lot of time out there on the large balcony. You can access Ali'i Drive directly from the underground parking garage and the pool was lovely to spend 30 minutes in when things got a little too hot outside.

The condo had everything we needed and is the perfect size for a couple. The beach mats, beach towels, snorkels and masks, boogie boards, and other items available for use were a great addition that we used regularly. Mary was very responsive when we had questions and we won't hesitate to book again the next time we're in Kona.

Great in-town location

This is a great location if you want an in-town experience. It was so easy to walk everywhere. This has to be the best supplied condo we have ever stayed in. Mary thought of everything. The AC unit in the next building is very noisy anytime you're on the patio or have the door open but the view makes up for it. The bed was so comfortable and it was great having the washer and dryer right in the unit. 5 stars!

Great location, home comforts, great view. Would stay here again.

Very quiet block of units, great view of the ocean, and well equipped kitchen. As others have said the ONLY downside is the hum from the air conditioner of shops in front when you are on the balcony. But the view of the ocean is beautiful, and there is no issue of noise from the street, the balcony door cuts out ALL noise, especially no noise when sleeping as bedroom is on the other side of building away from the street. The air conditioner for the unit is very quiet. King bed is a big plus, free parking (just don't park without getting a parking pass, or you can be fined like us when parked for just an hour outside the elevator, but we called the car parking company and they cancelled the fine). The layout of the unit is great, and location so close to the pier for swimming or to the shops is unbeatable. A very warm and homely unit. Highly recommend.
