Hike in the red rocks, take the 'vortex tours,' experience the spiritual attraction of this fabled area, get in touch with its rich Native American cultural heritage--or just relax, enjoy our new electric fireplace or some coals on the barbie, and delight in all the amenities of your private casita on the edge of the Coconino National Forest.
My husband and I live near the ocean in California which we love. But it is always a great to go somewhere completely different and which is also beautiful. From the first time we went to Sedona, the breathtaking scenery of the rocks and the beautiful ever changing skies were so inviting. It is a wonderful retreat to get away from your everyday life and it feels so relaxing. We also wanted a place we could enjoy with our two small dogs and they would feel at home there too.
Georja Umano Jones purchased this townhome in 2002
Canyon Mesa is a lovely, landscaped, enclosed community. It is well maintained and looked after in the times we are away. Our condo is very nicely laid out and comfortable. We enjoy the large stone fireplace, the skylight in every room. I thrilled to be able to plant roses and other shrubs around it and paint some of the walls to look like the red rocks. It is near wonderful hikes, great restaurants, outlet shopping, and live theater. WIFI and cable TV are essential.
You will enjoy perfect climate control with heat, air conditioning, and three ceiling fans. You will sleep like a baby on new Serta mattresses. You will enjoy the extra light in the casita throughout with multiple sky lights. You will enjoy peace and quiet. WIFI and high definition flat screen cable included
Just came back from an amazing trip to Sedona with my brother and sister. Our stay at "The Roost" in Canyon Mesa was a wonderful choice for location and serenity. Do plan to arrive in the daylight, as the entrance is not well marked. The owner, Georja, was very helpful in offering suggestions for hiking, dining and entertainment. The Canyon Mesa is a beautiful area and we wish we would have allowed 5 nights to experience all Sedona has to offer. The beds at "The Roost" are very comfortable which was of great importance to our aging backs!
Hiked The West Fork Trail off 89A in Oak Creek Canyon - not to be missed, but allow yourself 4 hours to experience the 7 1/2 mile round-trip trek. Beautiful scenery, shady with water crossings along the way. Also hiked Bell Rock and visited The Chapel of the Holy Cross. We drove to the Grand Canyon by way of Oak Creek 89A thru Cameron to the East Rim and came back after sunset from the South Rim by way of interstate to avoid the drive thru Oak Creek in the dark. Very pleased with Creekside and Cucina Rustica for dining and The Indian Gardens Market after our hike at the West Fork Trail. After departing Sedona on our drive back to Phoenix airport, we stopped in Jerome, an old copper mining town. Fascinating history at the Mine Museum, a delicious lunch at Mile High Restaurant, and a one-of-a-kind Kaleidoscope Shop which was amazing!! Love Sedona!!
The condo was very light and airy with all the skylights. The kitchen provided everything that was needed. The front porch was nice and cool when there was shade on it (most times of the day you could find some shade). The only problem while we were there, was the pool was out of order both days. The hot tub was working. They had the water in the hot tub "luke warm", I guess to take the place of the pool. The grounds of the Canyon Mesa Country Club were beautiful, with walking paths and nice flowers and landscaping.
The location of the condo was great. We were able to avoid the crowds that were in the city of Sedona, but still drive in for dinner or a Pink Jeep tour. We also took a trip to Montezuma's Castle National Monument one day and Montezuma's Well, and these great attractions were only about a half hour drive away.
Overall a great stay, despite the pool not working!
My hubby, little dog and I very much enjoyed our 2016 Memorial Day Weekend at The Roost. The town home was very comfortable and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. The property (gated golf course) was immaculate and nicely landscaped. We enjoyed the pool and chatting with several home owners. If you're a golfer, rates are very inexpensive for what looked like a very nice golf course. You're just a short drive to shopping, restaurants and the beautiful red rocks. The owner was very informative when booking and the home lived up to expectation and we very clean and well-maintained. I'd recommend to others. We enjoyed two restaurants, Schoolhouse and Cucina Rustica, both of which I'd highly recommend.
My friends and I were pleased with The Roost. The description was accurate and the owner answered our questions quickly. It was easy to find and instructions for the home were complete. It was comfortable, homey and had sufficient kitchen gear to make a meal. It was clean and
accommodated 4 adults easily. Close to a big market and other shops. The only negative is the lack of patio space for 4 people to sit and talk!
I would recommend this property to others.
Great location. Condo a little dated, but very clean and comfortable in a quiet gated community. Comfy beds, had everything we needed for an enjoyable few days in Sedona.
Our 5-day stay at the Roost served us (2 couples) nicely. The beds were comfortable, kitchen adequately equipped for meal prep (mainly breakfasts) and cleanup, good lighting for our evenings of games & cards, etc. Property management was quick to respond to our minor requests. The view was minimal but the overall surroundings lovely including the pool & whirlpool available at the Club. It was nice to be removed from downtown Sedona but close enough to visit there & other spots nearby (Jerome and Cottonwood) where we found tasty meals at restaurants (Asylum in Jerome and Nic's in Old Cottonwood) suggested by locals. Georja provided helpful information to acquaint us with the area. If we had been there for a longer stay, I'm sure the outdoor grill would have been put to use. At least, the patio was enjoyed as we sat & sipped our glass of wine.
In a gated community, one mile from restaurants and groceries. Spa treatments nearby. Near Bell Rock, Courthouse Rock, Cathedral Rock, Oak Creek and hundreds of fabulous trails, ruins. (Must do: Montezuma Castle). Kite Flying, Hot-Air Ballooning, Helicopter Tours, Art Colonies, Art Galleries, Indian Jewelry & Artifacts, Factory Outlet Shopping, Concerts, Cinemas - American & Foreign Films, Petroglyphs, Ancient Cave Dwellings, New Age Center, Massage & Body Treatments, Psychics, 3 hours from Grand Canyon, 40 minutes from Lowell Observatory. Super abundance of Hiking! AlSo - BIking, Swimming, Tennis, Jeep tours, Skydiving, Skiing, VisitIng high energy Vortex Centers, shopping for art, Native American and other jewelry and other artifacts.
