This is our 5th year spening a summer week in St. Joe's with our 2 small children. It is always much looked forward to summer trip, and have never been disappointed. St. Joe's is "Our Summer Town." We have rented from Jennifer and Ken before and have always been impressed at their attentiveness and professionalism. we look forward to next summer! Thank you Jennifer and Ken!

Great location, but will likely stay elsewhere next time

  • 3 of 5

We loved the location of this house. An easy walk downtown or to the beach. We also really appreciated the little kids table, books and toys that our toddler fully utilized. There were also sippy cups and a pack n play in the house. The place where our daughter slept in her pack n play was in a dark little nook which made for ideal napping conditions.

I do, though, agree with the couple other reviews that the homes needs to be freshened up and there was dog fur on a lot of the surfaces. We felt a little icky sitting on them. Keep that in mind if you are allergic. The mattresses are older and some kinks needs to be worked out with the AC. At night, the bedrooms get exceedingly stuffy.

Owner's Response: So glad you loved the location of the house. Yes, we try and make the house "kid friendly" with toys, games, books, etc. We clearly state on our rental agreement if you have any issues to contact us within the first 24 hours, but we didn't hear anything about your concerns until after you left (when we can't address things). The queen mattress is less than two years old but understand it's personal preference if people like a soft or firm mattresses. We just installed new central air to make it more comfortable for our guests. We always want our guests to have a great experience.

excellent place for rest and relaxation

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend this place to anyone of my family and friends who were looking to spend a week or weekend in a small town on the shores of Lake Michigan.

I found the host/owner to be very friendly and I was very pleased with the service I received.

This place is well kept, clean, nicely decorated and very convenient to the gift shop and restaurant area as well as to the beach and lake front where one can get beautiful views of the sunset.

I plan on visiting St. Joe again and staying at this delightful rental with its charming front porch facing the setting sun.

Enjoy a time away.

Adorable Little Home Nestled in the Trees

  • 5 of 5

This home is truly my little "home away from home". Nestled in this beautiful, tree lined community, its quiet and comfortable, but still so close to the beach and to town!

The perfect place to relax and write a book!

  • 4 of 5

I spent a week at this charming cottage writing and researching for a book, and what a perfect getaway place! The location couldn't be more ideal. The cottage is just a few short blocks from town, the library, the beach, the restaurants (including my favorite, Silver Beach Pizza), the carousel and splash pad, and the bluff. I barely needed my car at all, except for a trip to the grocery store. I was pleased to have a garage to keep my car and bike all week. The cottage was so charming and had just the right amount of space for four (my husband and two boys joined me over the weekend). The open-concept dining and living rooms made the space feel bigger than the pictures suggest. I had plenty of space to sprawl out all my research and writing on the over-sized dining room table. All of the rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, particularly the main bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was large and had plenty of storage space for all of us. I had some initial trouble getting into the lock box but the owner was so helpful! She immediately responded to my texts. The neighbors were also very friendly and helpful. But my favorite part of the house was the front porch. I spent many a morning outside with a cup of coffee, my computer, and the morning walkers. A very enjoyable stay in a quiet, neighborhood.
