A Home Run!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 adults and 5 children (ages 4 to 10) came from 3 different states (VA, ME, MA) to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas together. This house was a wonderful place to do that. Centrally located, it was very clean and comfortable for all of us. The foosball, ping pong, and pool tables all got a workout. Even the hot tub was used a couple of times. But for us, one of the biggest draws was the dining table!! We love to eat! Not just eat, but eat as a family. We wanted to have a full sit-down Thanksgiving dinner. And we were able to do that. The dining table does indeed seat 10 people very comfortably including the turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. Three children sat at the kitchen bar. It was wonderful! And the next evening we had a sit-down Christmas dinner! It could not have been better.

Other reviews have commented about Pat and Mike being responsive and easy to work with. I couldn't agree more. They were terrific. The positive reviews of them is one of the things that attracted me to this house and those reviews were certainly justified.

The next time we are looking for a place to get our family all together again, this house will be at the top of our list.

BTW - we got pizzas from Bella Mia and they were delicious. We also ordered a pan of chicken parm from them for our Christmas dinner and it was outstanding. It's a small, informal place, but really good food!

A home that is worth staying in again

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely stay here again. Two adults and three children stayed for one week. The home was clean and smelled pleasant. We were grateful for the wall mounted remote control air conditioner units in every room. I believe these units can also produce heat. Major kitchen appliances were modern, new, clean and functioned very well. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils are plentiful, although I did not come across a potato masher. The dining table easily sits 10. We used part of the table as a permanent set-up for gaming and puzzle making. There are puzzles, books, playing cards and games in the lit pantry closet. Games are also above the mantle. The three lower drawers of the tv stand in the living room each contain gigantic storage books of dvd's. We did watch a movie every night and had popcorn. The bbq and firepit all worked well. We were unable to use the hot tub due to a storm related issue that arose during our stay. The pool table/ping pong table was a big hit with the kids and adults and we had some great matches! There are a lot of deer and rabbit in the area and we saw them daily. It is very pleasant to walk in the quiet community and it felt very safe. The lake/beach is pleasant and the pool/café is also very nice. You must have your (badge) wristband for the beach or pool. We tended to drive to those areas, although they were not terribly far. There are lots of people with golf carts. If you have kayaks, bring them. I was hopeful that there was a place to rent them but there was not. You can rent paddle boats at the swimming beach area only. We saw people fishing at the marina, which is right across the street from the house. I did text the owners early during the stay and they were very prompt to return texts and call. This is a good choice for a family or two to stay, and I would stay here again. Locally, we also enjoyed a train ride in Jim Thorpe and our first paintball experience at Skirmish- reserve 24 hours ahead to get some free paintballs. Enjoy!

Great house, wonderful time.

  • 5 of 5

First time my family has rented an entire house for vacation and what a great choice we made in deciding to rent from Mike & Pat. They made our vacation great. Helped with any questions and responded quickly. Ever room in their home was clean and beautiful. Plenty of space for everyone. Grandchildren loved the woodland creatures, and the deer came right up to us while we were outside too. Plenty of activities to keep everyone busy, pool, table tennis, foosball, tennis courts & basketball courts just across the street. The sunrise every morning from the upper deck was breathtaking. The beach was just a few minute walk away & everyone from the community were very friendly. Kitchen had every kind of cooking and baking gadgets you can think of, felt like I was at home. Seven days was not long enough and my family wanted to stay longer but unfortunately vacation only lasts so long. I would recommend this wonderful home to everyone.

Great house, perfect for everyone!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here twice and we will definitely be returning. The house is perfect for friends and family to get together to enjoy summer or winter fun. It is very spacious, clean and full of amenities including a hot tub, foosball, pool table and ping pong. The owner Pat is very easy to work with. She answers all questions and provides all the information needed to make sure the stay is as delightful as possible. Thanks Pat! I would recommend this house to anyone!

Large and wonderful home in the Poconos!!!

  • 4 of 5

The pictures in the listing don't do this home justice. The home was large, clean and so well stocked! They provided clean linen and lots of towels. The washing machines and dryers came in handy and there are 2 of each! Pat and Mike are wonderful and were very welcoming. We had a few issues upon arrival and they helped us right away, even sending the hot tub professionals out to clean the hot tub during our stay for no additional charge!

Just an FYI though, this community only allows for 8 badges per stay for the community center where the pool/beach is located. This means that only 8 people can go at a time but if you're nice they won't require little ones (under 5 years old) to wear them. This is not something the homeowners can control so just be aware that they cannot get more for you. My kids really enjoyed the tennis and basketball courts right across the road (no badges needed) and we LOVED the hot tub. There were tons of board games, movies and even coloring books for the kids!

We look forward to visiting again!!

Amazing everything!

  • 5 of 5

I just got back from a weekend at this house and I don't have enough good things to say about it. The property itself was fantastic...enough room for 14 adults to eat/sleep comfortably. It was clean/up to date and had everything we needed stocked in the kitchen. The ping pong/pool and foosball tables kept us entertained when we weren't at the nearby slopes. We saw there were other items (tennis rackets/basketball/etc) but it had snowed so we couldn't use them. Hopefully we can come back in the summer though! The hot tub was the perfect end to a day out in the cold, AND we had what seemed like unlimited movie choices. The location was close enough that we went to two different ski resorts during our time there (with other options too), and we could see a very close lake that looks like it would be a lot of fun in the summer. Also helpful was that it was close to a dollar general so we could quickly run and get any items we had forgotten. The owners were also awesome...there was actually a slight snag with the locks when we arrived late on a Friday night, and the owners were extremely responsive and helpful to our situation. They also left us a little goodies basket for when we arrived. Overall, everything was right on the money and it made for the perfect weekend getaway! I am definitely looking forward to coming back in the future!
