This is one of the most peaceful locations in Canmore - within walking distance of downtown, a ten minute walk to the shops, restaurants and galleries on main street, and yet Mother Nature is your neighbour and hiking/walking trails are at your doorstep. Easy destinations include lakes, waterfalls, streams and rivers.
Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood and has spectacular mountain views from every window. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy our large (1300+ sq. ft.) wrap-around deck.
Wildlife viewing and birdwatching opportunities abound.
This is an exceptional location for photographers and artists.
On July 1st and New Years Eve you can relax and enjoy the fireworks display from the comfort of our home.
A 10+ minute walk, on a lovely forested trail will take you to main street Canmore where you'll find many interesting shops and excellent restaurants.
We are a 10 minute drive from the world famous Banff National Park gates and 20 minutes will take you to the Banff town site (more great shopping and dining).
There are 5 golf courses within 20 minutes drive of our home.
A 5 minute walk from the house will take you to Quarry Lake, the local swimming/beach area, and 10 minutes walk/ride will take you to the Canmore Nordic Centre trails for great mountain biking and hiking in summer and cross country skiing in winter.

Our home has three levels:
On the upper level there is a large master bedroom (queen size bed) with a beautiful 5 piece ensuite bathroom (walk-in shower, large jacuzzi tub and double sinks), a fireplace and a Juliette deck.
There are two more bedrooms (queen size bed in each) and an additional 4 piece bathroom.
The loft is also on this level, there is a double sofa/sleep futon and the computer desk with high speed wireless internet is located here.
The front entry is located on the main level. There are also two sitting areas on this floor. They are separated by a beautiful two-sided rundlestone fireplace. The larger sitting area has 17.5 foot ceilings, a wall of windows and access to the wrap-around deck. The second sitting area has the entertainment centre (TV, DVD, VCR, Stereo and CD player).
The fully equipped kitchen (2 refrigerators, one with an icemaker) and dining area are also on this level. The dining area will comfortably seat 12 people. We have a highchair available for our guests use.
There is access to the deck through the dining area.
The wrap-around deck has a gas BBQ/Grill three tables and a total of 16 chairs.
There is a fourth bedroom (queen size bed) with access to the wrap around deck and an additional 3 piece bathroom (walk-in shower).
Finally there is a laundry room with washer and dryer.
The lower level has a large bed/sitting room. There is a queen size bed, a double sofa/sleep futon, a second TV, blue ray disc player and play station.
Access to the garage is on the lower level with plenty of room for your bikes, skis and storage. We also have 3 portable child strollers available for our guests to use.
Three adult couples stayed at this lovely home for one week during June. It was truly wonderful...a perfect location for hiking & visiting the Banff & Jasper National parks. A very comfortable & spacious home with magnificent views from all directions. Pat and Tom were so hospitable; every possible kitchen & bath supply was available...even fresh flowers & a luscious large fresh fruit basket. Exceeded our expectations! We had such a wonderful time staying in this gorgeous home. Pat and Tom's home fit 9 adults and 2 babies comfortably. (Such an added bonus that baby cribs and strollers were provided for us to use). The home has floor to ceiling windows that provide stunning mountain views, and wonderful deck seating to sit out with a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up over the mountains. Each of the bedrooms had a comfy bed and again - beautiful views out of all the windows. The kitchen is well equipped and the kitchen table provided a great gathering place for family dinners. We did NOT want to leave, and are already planning our next trip back. Thanks Pat and Tom!
We were welcomed with a vase of flowers and a basket of fresh fruit by hosts that soon felt like friends. The house is beautiful and easily accommodated 8 adults and 4 preteens. Decks surround the house with magnificent views of the mountains on all sides. There are walking trails nearby and it is an easy walk to the town of Canmore. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment, dishes and even condiments and spices. The house was very clean, plenty of space in kitchen and sitting areas; decor was perfect and featured Tom's bronze work. Pat has thought of everything; she has anticipated every possible need. She was very welcoming when we checked in, providing information about activities in the area and wishing us a wonderful week.
Our party consisted of 13 people spanning 3 generations - Mum & Dad, their 4 sons and spouses, 2 three years old girls and a 16 month old boy. This home is just about faultless with a very flexible layout, comfortably furnished and well equipped. We met Tom & Pat on arrival for a whistle-stop tour, Pat saw us off after our two week stay and refunded the deposit. They are great people to deal with. As described in other reviews the property is well placed for a stroll into Canmore with all its facilities and has fabulous views of the surrounding mountains. Canmore is a great place to base a holiday and we hiked, swam, cycled, rode horses, fished, white-water rafted, kayaked, sky walked, visited a glacier and lazed in hot springs. After every activity the house was a great place to return to and compare notes and it did fell that we were at home - albeit Tom & Pat's home.
This is a beautiful home with unbeatable views. We enjoyed having our coffee and breakfast out on one of the decks each morning, watching the sunrise over the mountains. It was tough trying to decide which mountains we wanted to look at each morning! It is perfectly situated within walking distance of the town center (via a fun shortcut path through the back yard), but also near the edge of town and a short 5 minute hike past a waterfall to Quarry Lake. It is just a short drive to the Nordic Center, Grassi Lakes and several other picturesque lakes and trails. There is abundant wildlife nearby - we saw mule deer and elk during our stay.
The home is incredibly well stocked, with almost everything you might need, from condiments and spices in the kitchen to eyeglass cleaner, makeup remover and hand lotion in all of the bathrooms. I have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, but until now I have never stayed anywhere that had enough toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags to see a party of 11 through a 9 day stay. The kitchen actually has 2 refrigerators, which was quite handy. The owners have really paid attention to all the details. It is also, hands down, the cleanest place I have ever stayed.
The owners did meet us at the house at the beginning of our stay and again at the end of the stay - which we thought was a little unorthodox from our previous experience. However, they simply want to make sure their visitors know how everything works and that their home will be well cared for. At the end of our stay, they did a quick walk through and returned our security deposit (in cash) on the spot. They are extremely friendly and accommodating. They recommended a few hikes and even provided the name and number of a massage therapist, who I wish I could say we had called.
This is a beautiful home, in a great location, with incredible views and owners who have gone the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable. I can recommend it without reservation.
My husband and I, along with our 4 adult daughters, 3 spouses, 1 boyfriend and 2 toddler grandsons, spent Christmas week at this beautiful Canmore home. We were met at the door by the owners, who gave us a detailed tour and explanation of how things worked. The house has 3 livable levels-an upper level with 2 bedrooms, full bath, master suite/bath with fireplace and sitting area, and a loft with computer and futon overlooking the main floor. The first floor has another bedroom, laundry room, full bath and 2 living areas separated by a floor-to-ceiling wood burning fireplace. The kitchen, also, on the first floor, exceeded our expectations. There was ample space for all of us, including 2 high chairs (1 was provided) around the table. Though we were told that the kitchen was fully stocked, we weren't expecting things like napkins, foil, spices, flour and sugar, condiments and every baking, serving and cooking pot and pan imaginable. We also weren't expecting the very useful 2 refrigerators. The lower level, with heated floor, houses a large bedroom with 2 beds and an alcove perfect for a porta crib. There is no bathroom down there, but the occupants of this room didn't have a problem with going upstairs.
This property was spotless and well maintained. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a large tree, lights, and other holiday accents. We were given 2 park passes and wifi codes for the house. There were 2 strollers, 2 porta cribs, and a highchair available, which we made good use of. The two sets of stairs were a problem initially, but we were able to figure out a way to barricade them from the toddlers.
From Canmore, it was an easy trip to the 3 main ski hills and the town of Banff. In addition, we sledded and snow shoed in the area right around the house. The owners pointed out a shortcut to walk into town but we never got around to trying it. We brought most of the food we needed for our large group; there is a good size grocery close by that we used for extras.
This was a perfect house, in a perfect location, to meet the needs of our group. We especially appreciated the 360 degree mt. views and the private areas for the 5 small families that make up our large family! We would not hesitate to recommend the property to friends or family.
Canmore is located 1 hour west of Calgary and 10 minutes east of Banff National Park.
Canmore is paradise for all your summer activities including sightseeing, canoeing, river rafting, kyaking, fly fishing, horseback riding, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, hiking, golfing and birdwatching. You can hire guides for any of these activities if you wish.
Golf: We have 5 excellent golf courses within a 30 minute drive of our home. Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club, Canmore Golf & Curling Club, Silvertip Golf Course, Banff Springs Golf Club and Brewster's Kananiskis Ranch Golf Resort.
Canmore is paradise for all your winter activities including Alpine skiing, Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing and dog sledding.
Ski: Close to 4 world class ski resorts, Banff Mount Norquay 20 minutes, Sunshine Village Ski Area 35 minutes, Nakiska site of the 1988 Olympic Alpine Ski Events 40 minutes, Lake Louise host of World Cup Alpine events each year 55 minutes.
Cross Country Skiing: Canmore Nordic Centre site of the 1988 Olympic Nordic Ski Events and an annual World Cup Event is a 10 minute walk/ski or a 5 minute drive. Excellent cross country skiing in winter and Great mountain biking in the summer.

There are many opportunities for shopping, fine dining, art and cultural events, both in Canmore and Banff. Great shopping, Galleries, Museums and many fine restaurants.
Canmore also has an excellent recreation centre, Elevation Place with an indoor Climbing Facility, Swimming Pool, Library and Art Gallery.

Our home is for the use of tenants only, no larger gatherings or functions can be held here.
Children require parental supervision at all times.
Tenants must park their vehicles on our driveway.
Renter will be required to sign a Residential Tenancy Agreement.
