The Bungalow's original owner is rumored to be Babe Ruth himself! In an interesting series events I came across the house and fell in love with it's story.
The Owner purchased this house in 2003
We live in Treasure Island and love it! In addition to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Treasure Island is centrally located to almost everything while still having that 'small beach town feel.' The Bungalow itself is close to historic John's Pass and has a rich history that we're very proud of.
It hard to pick just one of the Bungalow's unique benefits! We remodeled it ourselves and every nook and cranny is special. One of the favorites or both ours and guests is the game/ living room upstairs. The view of the Gulf is great and the hardwood floor is one of a kind.
My family spent the Thanksgiving week at the beach house. The kitchen was well equipped for a feast! There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the holiday. It is an older style bungalow house but very comfortable. A good alternative to a condo or hotel. The location is great. The walkway to the beach is right out the front door. Dottie the property manager was quick to respond to any questions that came up during our week stay.
This one-of-a-kind home was perfect for our Spring Break family trip to Treasure Island. The location couldn't be better; just a few blocks walk to both John's Pass and the northern end of the Treasure Island Beach Trail, and right across the street from the beach. The house was immaculate, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you might need.
This house was just perfect. I rented it for a girls weekend, and it was everything we could ask for! So cute inside and equipped with everything you could need. It is also right next to the beach and within walking distance to St. Johns Pass where they have live entertainment and plenty of restaurants to eat at! Would definitely rent again!
Our Girls weekend was perfect. We loved the location - steps from the beach, within walking distant of the quaint Johns Pass and a quick drive to the market. The bungalow has a well equipped kitchen, plenty of games, the necessary electronics and even a few novels for light beach reading. The bathrooms are basic, but provide the essentials. The house is basic and overall comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony to watch the sunset over the Gulf. Be advised there is no beachview, just the Gulf.
We had an ant problem the day we arrived- to the point where no one wanted to take their shoes off. The property manager resolved the problem the next morning. We appreciated her concern with our comfort. We all agreed we would stay here again. Thank you to the owner for sharing your bungalow with us and to the property manager for caring for such a treasure and the travelers who rest there!
We called this a "happy house" and loved it! It's bright, airy and comfortable, beautifully decorated but in a fun, casual beach-house style vs. the (in our opinion) overdone, heavy decor we've seen in some Florida rentals. Photos and description provided in the listing accurately reflect its features, condition and location. Even though not directly on the beach, it is literally steps away (across a quiet street and boardwalk) and you can see the water from the upstairs deck. We enjoyed being in a lower-density area vs. the strips of highrises farther north and south, and found Treasure Island low-key but with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and other amenities nearby. It was perfect for our family Spring Break with college and high-school age children, but also would be good for families with younger children as long as you don't care about having a pool. No need for a pool, really: the beach was huge and not too crowded even though we were there during peak Spring Break week and the weather was beach-perfect every day.
Thank you for allowing us to be your guests. The house was very nice in a great location. There were many nice touches, and it was decorated nicely. It was perfect for two couples with room for a few children if necessary.
I was disappointed with the queen bed on the main floor. The mattress was very soft, possibly from use. It was loudly creaky, and was so light that it moved on the bed frame. The beach chair hinges were rusted, and I was concerned that they would break under load. A few of the chairs on the upper deck are broken, and can't be used.
I would recommend the house to friends and family with the above comments noted.
