Our family of 7 adults and 5 children had a wonderful week at this home. It was our first trip "up north" and we were very impressed. The view of the lake and surrounding area was a great surprise! The house was clean and well stocked. We had to find out from Danielle the directions to the dock, but enjoyed sitting on the chairs provided and watching the kids jumping in the clear lake water.
When at the house, we enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. Ample chairs where provided on both decks. We would have liked a fire pit located closer to the house. All the bedrooms were spacious but the bunks are not comfy for adults.
Danielle was just a phone call away with any of our questions. All in all, this house was a winner with our group!
House was spacious place for extended family to spend an enjoyable week together. Generally fine, but any suggestion that the house is "on the lake" is an exaggeration. I'm sure that it is true that the house has water frontage rights, but the house is on a hill with great views of the lake because it is high above the lake. If you plan to use the lake, you will probably end up driving to one of the public beaches near by, especially if toting small kids along, rather than walking several minutes through brush to get to their dock, which is suboptimal for swimming anyway, and then traipsing back up the hill later to get back to the house. Although there is sleeping and plenty of space for 12, there was not really a way for 12 to sit together for a meal - a function of the size of the table and number of chairs. The larger beds were generally ok for the adults in the party. The mattresses on the bunks were more like pads -- too thin to be comfortable for the ones in our party who slept on them. All that being said, we had a great time - just want you to be aware of a few of these details.
This home was the perfect setting for our family's much need vacation. This house is nested way up on a hill 2 min outside down town Boyne City over looking Lake Charlevoix. This house is not right on the water, but the views more than make up for it. The dock that comes with the house is a short 2-3 min drive away with its own secluded parking lot. Every square inch of the house and its property was beautiful and breathtaking. We will defiantly be returning in the future.
We had a wonderful week long stay at this house! It was our first vacation to Michigan and we were pleasantly surprised with all that boyne city and the surrounding areas had to offer. The house itself is beautifully decorated. We were there for the 4th of July and it was even decorated for the holiday! The kitchen is large and well stocked...we especially liked the margarita machine! As stated in previous reviews, the views are amazing! It is very private and quiet and our children loved riding bikes on the driveway and running around the yard. We even used the fire pit on a chilly evening. Danielle was a pleasure to work with and always available. We would highly recommend this house!
The location of the home in relation to Boyne City and overlooking the water was perfect. Close to town but secluded as well. The home itself was beautiful. The panoramic view of Lake Charlevoix was amazing and couldn't be truly appreciated with pictures. I do feel as though it was not emphasized in the description of the home enough however as it was the first thing everyone in our group noticed. There was plenty of space to sleep our entire group and the house was sound proof enough for toddlers and infants that slept in our rooms with us. A short walk to the water and access to the dock was another perk to the property. While the home wasn't directly on the water I would gladly take the 5 minute walk to the water to have the view that we did. Overall this was a great place and one that I would return to without question. Also, the property manager was very friendly and easy to deal with.
A truly wonderful place with a perfect view of the lake! We had a family gathering, with family coming from various states, and were so fortunate to find this gem of a home to stay at for the week. The spaciousness was perfect - with 13 people, everyone had their own private room "sanctuary," yet when we were all together in one of the great rooms, it never felt cramped. Instead, it felt extremely relaxing, which is the whole point of vacation! There were four little boys under the age of five in our group, and this was probably their dream house! Lots of room to run and play, have scavenger hunts, play games, ping pong, hide-and-go-seek, water fights outside, etc. The kitchen was also perfect! So much room to move, even with five cooks at once! And the fact that it was fully stocked with cooking items/utensils made meals a breeze.
The location could not have been any better. Easy access to downtown Boyne City, and quick drives to Charlevoix, Mackinac Island, Traverse City, Lake Michigan, etc. In addition, we found the trail down to the lake to be charming and beautiful. And of course, the little boys thought it was a great adventure!
Danielle was a joy to work with - I would recommend her to anyone looking for a rental property! If we needed anything, she was right there to help us.
I can't say enough positive comments about this property! We would stay here again in a heartbeat - this home should be at the top of your list, especially if you have a large group!
