This unique apartment (6 guests, 2 bedrooms, 75 m2) is located on the 1st floor (US standard no elevator) in a Montmartre 19th century building. It is located “rue d’Orchampt”, one of the highest rated streets in Montmartre. “Rue d’Orchampt” is a small and quiet street featuring many romantic artists studios. Close by lies the famous place du bateau Lavoir. This is where many famous artists lived, PICASSO, MODIGLIANI, Albert CAMUS, Max JACOB.

The owner has completely redesigned the apartment. The unit is facing another apt of 50 m2, listing #222895 which may be rented together for parties up to 12 guests. Apartments may communicate at will.

The architect played with the former apartment decoration: he selected some of the valuable antique wooden furniture, re-used some stained-glass doors, and kept the “tapisserie” on some of the living room walls as well as the full white marble bathroom. Alternatively he created a contrast by designing a modern kitchen with bright colors which links the living room, one of the bedroom and the bathroom.

• Entering the apartment, the first glimpse is the view over Paris through the large left window. The light sprinkles over the stained-glass doors of the bedroom which is on the right.

• The bedroom offers a queen size bed. It is equipped with large bookshelves. The bedroom window has a view over the calm rue d’Orchamps (semi pedestrian). When stained glass doors are slid open, light comes from both sides of the bed.

• After entrance, one steps in the exceptionally large living room. It has 3 tall windows. It is furnished with a large antique wooden table, and a sofa corner with armchairs and extra chairs (on photos the sofa has not been delivered yet). The sofa will be a comfortable convertible sofa (may sleep to adults for short stay).

• The kitchen is a separate room, fully equipped including dishwasher and washer drier. It is brand new and colorful modern designs. One walks through the kitchen from the living room to reach the master bedroom and the bathroom.

• The master bedroom offers a queen size bed. It has 2 windows with view over Paris. It is equipped with a wooden (& valuable) wardrobe close to the bathroom. Toilets are inside the bathroom.

• The original white marble of the bathroom and the faucets were kept. The look is art déco type. It is equipped with a bath with shower, and has a high window.

As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and Australia are generally free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.

SACRE COEUR church is 3 minute walking distance. Les abbesses, the trendy part of Montmartre is just down the square: many restaurants, shops and nice café terraces. The ABBESSES SUBWAY station is 2 minute walk. PIGALLES & BLANCHE stations are only 3 minute away. This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 15 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming & restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums...

Great rate / good location

Overall an adequate experience. The flat is located in a perfect location next to Metro Station Abbessee and accessible to all of Paris. It is located near a very trendy part of town with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores. The building is older and typical French style. The flat itself is very French with an IKEA kitchen that has a washer / dryer toaster coffee machine stove fridge and lots of plates and dishwear. The bedrooms are nice but the beds are somewhat older and the mattress is warped and difficult to sleep well on. The flat is near a school so afternoon naps with the sound of loud children is difficult and the park is often used at night by youth to play music which woke us up in the middle of the night each night. Windows are older so closing them does very little. Bathroom is traditional French the toilet is located in a very odd angle and doesn't flush well at all often having to flush three of four times to clear it. The shower is by hand and the window is right there so don't expect any privacy from the other flats. The floors were disgustingly dirty often the socks and feet black from walking around. We are charged a cleaning fee but there is dust everywhere including the lights in the kitchen and counters... I cleaned better leaving and it was dirty coming into it. Not enough pillows for both beds and no extras provides. Arrival was fine but confusing... Not clear you had to go to another location to get the keys. Wouldn't stay here again despite the location.

Owner's Response: Hi Cliff, Thank you for your review. The apartment is indeed in a great location and our guests generally like it very much as one can see in the other reviews. The view over Paris and the square is great. There are often kids playing in the square. We do respect your feelings. Other guests never felt bothered, the noise level is actually limited as the square is at a largely lower level and not directly against the building. Kids are coming mainly in afternoon, the square closes at 7pm. We understand the cleaning was not perfect when you arrived. We are definitely sorry about this. We would have sent a cleaning lady right away if you had called us. The company which does the cleaning is generally very reliable. Unfortunately it happens that a cleaning lady is on holiday and was replaced by a less skilled person. We will do a commercial gesture to compensate this issue and inform our cleaning supplier so that he traces back the cleaner and trains him again. Sincerely, Jnoel

We couldn’t be happier!

This is the third time that my wife and I have stayed in Apartment Lepic. We love both the apartment and In Beau Paris.

The apartment is in the perfect location for us: close to the Metro Abbesses for a 10 minute trip to the centre of town, Sacre Coeur, the ‘foodie’ street Rue Lepic, and many fabulous cafes and restaurants; close enough to the tourist scene yet just far enough away so as to avoid the noise and hustle of the main tourist routes; wonderful views of Paris, albeit from the master bedroom; in a narrow, quiet street; fully self-contained with a fully equipped kitchen, cooking facilities, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer internet with a VOIP phone. For us, however, the best thing is its size. The apartment is about 75 square metres with a good size main bedroom, a smallish second bedroom a good sized (by Parisian standards) eat-in kitchen and a living/dining room with two sets of double windows looking down on the cobbled street. There is a bathroom/toilet with bath and (hand held) shower over the bath. The apartment is on the first floor i.e. one level above the street/ground level. Stair access is easy, not too strenuous a climb. When we stayed in 2013 our adult kids, their partners and 2 children stayed with us in Apartment Lepic. It was a bit crowded but do-able. I’d recommend, however, two couples as a comfortable number, a couple in each bedroom. As a bonus, there is a smaller apartment is right next door, ideal for two groups of friends or families who want to stay near to each other but have separate accommodation .

In Beau Paris is an excellent organisation to book through. Jean-Noël replies quickly to any email and his booking system is well organised and easy to follow. Payment is both straightforward and safe (using PayPal). Access to the apartment is well explained. If anything goes wrong, as has happened with us, In Beau Paris is quick to respond and rectify the problem.

In short, we couldn’t be happier with “our” Paris apartment and we’d rather no-one else knew about it, but that would be unfair!!

Everything was fantastic. The flat was absolutely charming and huge. It was such a bonus to have a kitchen. The area was a perfect place to stay while in Paris. Close to the subway line and completely charming place to stay with local markets nearby. Next time I come to Paris i want to come back and stay at your flat!

We truly enjoyed our stay

My husband and I stayed at the Rue du Dragon property after a referral from my very happy sister, and we fell in love with the apartment. We know that we will be back, and that we will stay there. Having a home in Paris like this one made our stay so much more comfortable. we were able to cook (and to easily shop at Monoprix around the corner), to wash clothing, to enjoy the view from the huge and light windows, and to sleep very well. Jean-Nicolas made sure that all was ready for us when we got there, and was available during our trip when we had questions. Not only did we have a home, but we had someone looking out for us while we were there. The neighborhood is perfect - grocery store, small artisan stores, delicious restaurants (amazing egg restaurant around another corner), and so easy to walk anywhere, or take the Metro anywhere. We loved the neighborhood so much that we chose to walk to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and to meet a good friend at a restaurant nearby, instead of taking the very convenient Metro. The apartment worked well for us - there is a double bed and I used the loft bed (helps if you have a snoring or kicking partner). We highly recommend this apartment… and are almost sorry to do it, because we want it to be available when we return!

Nice apartment, busy area

The location is very good although very busy too. Montmarte is very touristy. There is a property next door (apparently some famous singer lived there) and throughout the day tour guides bring groups of people to talk about the place and the person. So it does get busy.

It's close to Abesses Metro stop (about 5 min walk) and the rest of Paris is easily accessible. It's a short walk to Boulevard de Clichy (Le Moulin Rouge) and Pigalle. The unit itself could do with a little refresher. There was a constant water hiss coming from under the sink in the kitchen that couldn't be stopped. The unit has no air conditioning so can get quite hot in the night during summer. There are two rooms each containing a double bed and they are comfortable enough with good linen. The pull out sofa bed in the lounge must be one of the easiest to use and is very comfortable. The unit was certainly large enough for my wife and I along with two of our children.

The kitchen probably did not have enough crockery and glassware. Also the washer/dryer is temperamental. After two uses, we couldn't get it to go anymore.

The owners are good to deal with, and communicate well. The area is busy but feels safe. It's a secure unit in a locked building. All in all, a very good choice for the cost.

Home away from Home

During July 2014, we had the good fortune to stay in this apartment. Our home away from home, We were two adults and two children (10y + 13y). This was our first stay in Paris and it was absolutely wonderful, but it was the Lepic apartment and its’ location which we believe made our trip all the more special. The neighbourhood of Montmartre itself is a gem with it’s own history to find and views of Paris to appreciate, with the apartment itself only moments away from Sacre Coeur. It is located within walking distance to the Metro and although it takes a bit longer (20-40 mins depending) to get to the main tourist attractions, we never found it difficult. The pay off however was that when the day of being a tourist was done, we were able to head “home” and just enjoy being part of the Parisan landscape. The apartment felt like home. It has the Parisian feel and touches many of us look for versus a more generic feel of a hotel. It was clean and well-maintained. We had plenty of room for the four of us to spread out, with comfortable beds and a good kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen was very functional for our needs, though we felt no desire to cook dinner, as we enjoyed the local restaurants for dinner, including our favourite - Relais de la Butte, with it’s wonderful food and ambiance. We always felt safe and the street the apartment is on is generally quiet. We went for walks every night in the surrounding areas which were lovely/romantic, while feeling safe. We were in Paris during a particularly hot summer and the apartment temperature was quite easy to maintain using cross breezes to cool it. The views from the apartment were also lovely allowing you to take in Paris. All of our contacts with Jean-Noel were positive. In comparison to the cost of accommodations in other cities, we found value here based on what you get, based on four people. Retrieving/returning the keys for the apartment is easy. The only negative during our stay was one party/one night that took place near the apartment well into the night. But it only prevented one in our group from sleeping easily, so if you are a light sleeper we would say be prepared to have earplugs for unpredictable moments such as these. Otherwise the area was quiet at night. Our experience with apartment Lepic was wonderful. Except for the placement of furniture, the apartment looked exactly like the pictures. We hope it continues to be available for many, while we look forward to returning.
