About Jane Livingston - Owner

I consider myself to be very blessed and fortunate to live in a country where we can enjoy our freedoms. I am a lucky mom to a wonderful teenage son. I find the world and people fascinating and relish the time I can spend traveling and exploring.. I love to travel, experience the world and spend time outdoors.

Jane Livingston - Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why Jane Livingston - Owner chose Rocky Mountain National Park

I worked at the YMCA of the Rockies one summer while in college and I almost stayed rather than going back to college. I think Rocky Mountain National Park has some of the best hiking in the world. I love being by the water and soaking up the outdoors while listening to the soothing sounds of the river and taking in the spectacular rocky mountains. The energy around our home and along the river is awesome and being so close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park is wonderful.

What makes this house unique

We are 1.5 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park and less than that to a grocery store and shopping. Relax by the river while reading a good book and being mesmerized by the spectacular beauty of the mountains and the sounds of the river. Sit on the river patio while fishing to your heart's content. Soak in the hot tub after hiking or snowshoeing while watching and listening to the river. Enjoy a soothing, peaceful steam shower anytime you desire. Relax with your morning cup of coffee on the patio taking in all the beauty. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as the sun sets behind the mountains while cooking those fresh caught fish on the grill.

A Five Star For Us and It Will Be For You Too !!

  • 5 of 5

Reading reviews for this home before we went on our trip to Estes Park, I felt pretty good this was going to work out great for our group of 7 adults and 4 children. The home was better than I thought it was going to be. You know it works out well when everyone is saying we should rent this home again on our next trip to Estes Park. With the exception of two small steps from the kitchen to the great room, and two small steps from the hallway to the TV area in the back of the house, there are no steps inside the home, and these steps all hand handrails, if needed. There are two steps in the house as well again with a handrail. And bonus points for being able to drive right up to the front door. No tricky driveways to deal with at his home either. As you walk thru the house for the first time you realize just how much room is in this 5 bedroom house. We have stayed in many homes on our trips to Estes Park, and no other place came close to having the room this house does.

The kitchen was stocked full of every pot, pan or cooking utensil you could need. We cooked every night we were there, and nobody was short of something they needed to make their dinner each night. We fed 11 each meal, and there was no shortage of plates or glasses.

The bedrooms were all large and the beds were all comfortable. And you can open up the bedroom windows to hear the sound of the Thompson River, which runs along the back yard.

The patio area was great. There are three tables outside with 12 chairs and a hot tub. And a large grill if you like to cook out. There are some stairs you can walk down and at the bottom of the stairs is a small patio area with a couple of benches, to sit right by the river to enjoy the fresh air of Colorado. If you enjoy hummingbirds, you can watch a lot of them along the river from this spot.

It is about a 3 minute drive to the highway where you can turn left to head to Rocky Mountain National Park, or right to drive into downtown Estes Park. You also have easy access to Mary's Lake Road, where you take the back way around downtown, if you wanted to do that as well. Great location for getting around Estes Park !

I could go on but you need to experience this house for yourself. If you have kids, they will love the game table in the Great Room, or the TV/Game Room in the back of the house.

Thank you Jane for allowing us to rent your home. We hope to be in this house again soon !!

Perfect house for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

We visited Estes Park for a guys trip. The house was perfectly situated just minutes from the mountains and town. The house had all the rooms and amenities we could ask for. The beds were conformable and each of the rooms were decorated nicely. Plenty of room for us to play ping pong, pool, cards, or just watch TV. Spacious two car garage and a very nice private backyard for a dip in the hot tub. All of six of us agreed that the was perfect and we would stay here again!

Perfect for a large group with kids

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful home along the river in Estes Park. Our three kids had a blast doing snow angels on the frozen river and playing on the full size air hockey table. We fixed a large spaghetti dinner one evening and everything we needed was on hand. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The owner was awesome to work with - she even went so far as to call her cable company to make sure we could get ESPN for the football fanatics in our crowd! The proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park was great - just a mile or two down the road. We took the kids sledding in the park at the Hidden Valley sledding area. (A hint about this - go early! I'd gotten that word from calling the park the day before, so we were there by 10:00 am, did a couple hours of sledding and when we were leaving, there was a long line of cars waiting to get in to the parking area). It was great to come back to the house for a dip in the large hot tub afterwards! We will definitely consider renting this home again - hopefully this summer!

The property was in good condition.

  • 4 of 5

There were so many things for the kids to do while staying there. The weather was not so cooperative but everyone found things to do. We would definitely do it again. It was a great time had by all. The kitchen was well stocked to accommodate a large family with duplicates of several items.

Lovely property in convenient location. Lots of room for our extended family Thanksgiving.

  • 5 of 5

The hot tub, pool table, and ping pong table were big hits with the adults and my two granddaughters. Lots of room for all 10 of us.

Things to bring to the attention of the owner -- neither fireplace would turn on with the timer. After calling the housekeeper, the owner called back quickly and sent the very nice maintenance person over. Apparently the pilot lights were off and timers broken by a previous tenant. He made them operational and will finish repairs later. Lots of burned out and missing light bulbs. The housekeeper told us where to find extra bulbs but there weren't enough of the right kind to replace them all. One garage door opener did not work. I suggest better checking to make sure everything is working between each tenant. Overall a wonderful place to stay for a large group.
