About Jane Livingston - Owner

I consider myself to be very blessed and fortunate to live in a country where we can enjoy our freedoms. I am a lucky mom to a wonderful teenage son. I find the world and people fascinating and relish the time I can spend traveling and exploring.. I love to travel, experience the world and spend time outdoors.

Jane Livingston - Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why Jane Livingston - Owner chose Rocky Mountain National Park

I worked at the YMCA of the Rockies one summer while in college and I almost stayed rather than going back to college. I think Rocky Mountain National Park has some of the best hiking in the world. I love being by the water and soaking up the outdoors while listening to the soothing sounds of the river and taking in the spectacular rocky mountains. The energy around our home and along the river is awesome and being so close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park is wonderful.

What makes this house unique

We are 1.5 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park and less than that to a grocery store and shopping. Relax by the river while reading a good book and being mesmerized by the spectacular beauty of the mountains and the sounds of the river. Sit on the river patio while fishing to your heart's content. Soak in the hot tub after hiking or snowshoeing while watching and listening to the river. Enjoy a soothing, peaceful steam shower anytime you desire. Relax with your morning cup of coffee on the patio taking in all the beauty. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as the sun sets behind the mountains while cooking those fresh caught fish on the grill.

A Five Star For Us and It Will Be For You Too !!

Reading reviews for this home before we went on our trip to Estes Park, I felt pretty good this was going to work out great for our group of 7 adults and 4 children. The home was better than I thought it was going to be. You know it works out well when everyone is saying we should rent this home again on our next trip to Estes Park. With the exception of two small steps from the kitchen to the great room, and two small steps from the hallway to the TV area in the back of the house, there are no steps inside the home, and these steps all hand handrails, if needed. There are two steps in the house as well again with a handrail. And bonus points for being able to drive right up to the front door. No tricky driveways to deal with at his home either. As you walk thru the house for the first time you realize just how much room is in this 5 bedroom house. We have stayed in many homes on our trips to Estes Park, and no other place came close to having the room this house does.

The kitchen was stocked full of every pot, pan or cooking utensil you could need. We cooked every night we were there, and nobody was short of something they needed to make their dinner each night. We fed 11 each meal, and there was no shortage of plates or glasses.

The bedrooms were all large and the beds were all comfortable. And you can open up the bedroom windows to hear the sound of the Thompson River, which runs along the back yard.

The patio area was great. There are three tables outside with 12 chairs and a hot tub. And a large grill if you like to cook out. There are some stairs you can walk down and at the bottom of the stairs is a small patio area with a couple of benches, to sit right by the river to enjoy the fresh air of Colorado. If you enjoy hummingbirds, you can watch a lot of them along the river from this spot.

It is about a 3 minute drive to the highway where you can turn left to head to Rocky Mountain National Park, or right to drive into downtown Estes Park. You also have easy access to Mary's Lake Road, where you take the back way around downtown, if you wanted to do that as well. Great location for getting around Estes Park !

I could go on but you need to experience this house for yourself. If you have kids, they will love the game table in the Great Room, or the TV/Game Room in the back of the house.

Thank you Jane for allowing us to rent your home. We hope to be in this house again soon !!

Amazing River Views 4 bathrooms

  • 5 of 5

The view of the river from the back deck looks like a postcard. The home has 4 bathrooms. This worked well for our families. The large table in the great room became a gathering place. Jane was able to address our every need. We were very comfortable. The location is close to everything but it is the large, well equipped home that made it most enjoyable. The spa was terrific. There is cable TV, fast internet, pool/ping pong table, games, books and a gaming system. We cooked a huge pot of spaghetti and put it in the large crock pot. We drove into the park each day while our adult kids enjoyed more challenging hikes. What a find. If you go out to eat, Smokin Dave's pulled pork potato skins are fantastic. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare any meals and picnic lunches for trips into the park.

This was my family's second visit to this property and we loved it as much as the first time. It has all the amenities we desire for our Estes Park family gathering (privacy, nature, rushing stream, lovely accommodations). The booking process with the owner was smooth and without hassle. The very nice housekeeper responded promptly and efficiently with our housekeeping requests. Nearby Rock Inn restaurant rocks! Breakfast at Meadow Mountain Café in Allenspark is superb! We would definitely recommend this property to family/friends. We look forward to returning!

Excellent location and amenities. Minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park and Estes.

  • 4 of 5

We loved Jane Livingston's rental home. Nine of us stayed at the Dancing Bears located next to the Big Thompson River for five days in mid-September of this year. The home features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, large great room, huge dining table and equipped kitchen. It also has a nice deck with a grill and hot tub. There was more than enough room for all of us. One nice feature is the bedrooms are enough removed from the great room so people staying up late do not disturb those who retire early. The home is also five minutes away from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park. In addition, elk were right across the river a couple of days and also walked right by the home a few times. I also want to point out that Jane always promptly responded to my questions prior to our arrival. I would stay here again. I recommend.

The Home is an Experience Itself!

  • 5 of 5

I wrote that title because when we arrived at Jane's home, we were immediately taken in by the beauty of the home and its location! The backyard is your private fishing ground on the Big Thompson River! We were there for the Fall so it was also our personal view pad to the elk rut! If you want to be surrounded by nature then you need this home.

As for the inside I cannot say enough. The great room with the massive windows looking out over the view of the big Thompson River will captivate you. The huge dining table easily accommodated our party of eight. The kitchen was well stocked and easily helped us to cook our own meals. The bedrooms were each decorated individually and had unique character on to themselves. Each room has a king size bed and in the last room there were also a set of bunkbeds. I cannot say enough about the back porch with its long covered sitting areas and the steps going down to the stream. The Jacuzzi on the back porch was a popular the place to be at night!

I cannot say enough about how helpful Jane was with a couple of our requests! This home is a must if you want to stay in Estes Park! We are already talking about a trip next year and getting this home again!

Outstanding! Can't wait to come back!

  • 5 of 5

This house is absolutely awesome! As beautiful as Rocky Mountain National Park is, there were some days where we did not want to leave this home. It's somewhat secluded location right on the Big Thompson River added to the awesome ambience of the Fall rut! We enjoyed fishing right off the back property of the home to watching and hearing the Fall rut of the local elk! The home on the inside is warm and inviting. The massive great room with the big windows that opened up to the Big Thompson River was great! The huge table in the great room easily accommodated all eight of us. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped as well. We enjoyed cooking the fish that we caught off the back part of the property in it. The bedrooms were comfortsble and awesome as well! Our party consisted of my son and daughter-in-law, who are in their mid 20s all the way up to some of my Friends who are in their early 60s. We all found something unique and desirable about this home! We used the back porch and Jacuzzi every day and night! Jane, the homeowner was awesome. All eight of us said if we ever come back to Estes Park we want to stay in this home again!
