Live in Charlotte, NC about an hour and a half away from Lake Lure and try to get there every chance I get and make sure everything is well maintained for my guests and my family.
Wayne purchased this cabin in 2007
The very first time I was in Lake Lure I purchased this cabin. It was so lovely I just happened into a realtors office and that was that. One of the best things I ever did.
You will find this cabin to be more like staying at a friends home than a rental. Because I stay here every chance I get it is well thought out and very well stocked and comfortable with attention to detail.
Yes, sadly this is our last day here. We have loved your cabin. My wife and I have rented places such as this all over the South Eastern and South Western U.S. and we firmly believe that your cabin is the best we have rented. In terms of provisions, it is superb. No one has provided as much as you have.
Thanks very much for making your cabin available, we have had a very enjoyable time.
Our third time staying & as always great experience. Pet friendly, well stocked, very clean with great wrap around porch! Highly recommend this cabin with a terrific view out the back of mountains.
I had been though Lake Lure on a trip a few years ago and had been wanting to visit for a few days. I went to the cabin with my 2 teenage boys, the fur baby, and my parents whom are in their 70s. Everyone had a great time. The cabin is secluded but very close to Lake Lure. It felt very much like walking into a home. There is a lot of living space with the large decks, the time of year was perfect for keeping the doors open and enjoying the cool weather.
The Cabin is very well maintained and clean. There are beautiful views off the deck. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook there. I would recommend staying here to anyone that would like to enjoy Lake Lure. We went hiking at chimney rock and took a 2 hours horseback trail ride. There is so much to do in the area that we could not really do everything we wanted too in 2 days. We will certainly be back and would happily stay at Wayne’s Cabin again.
We had a wonderful stay at Silver Tree cabin. The cabin is charming, the surroundings beautiful and quiet. We only saw/heard 3 cars for the entire week! The cabin is very well equipped, all you need to bring is food (there is an Ingles grocery store less than 10 minutes away). Liked the layout of the cabin, plenty of space for family and alone time. We opted to use the main level bedroom and our children used the open loft and game room. The cabin was clean upon our arrival and everything was in working order/well maintained.
Our dogs are part of the family and we really appreciate the cabin being pet friendly. The doggies did not use the back yard much as it is very steep (worth it for the view). It was easier to just let them out in the front yard for potty breaks, supervised off course! They really enjoyed chilling out on the deck.
Wayne was very responsive, gladly answered all our questions and offered recommendations. We are looking forward to returning to Silver Tree cabin again in the future. Thanks so much, Wayne!
Side note about Lake Lure - We were a bit disappointed to find that Lake Lure Beach and Water Park was only open on weekends during the last week of August. This is our usual vacation time and the first time we've run in to limited hours prior to Labor Day. It all worked out great though as there were many other options to cool off. We visited Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls in Pisgah Forrest, tubed down the Green River with Wilderness Cove Tubing, waded in the river in Chimney Rock and rented a boat from Lake Lure Adventure company and jumped in the Lake!
Loved Loved Loved this Place.
Our First family vacation and the five of us had a great time. I did not want to leave but need to go back to work. My daughter's wanted us to stay longer but yet we could not. Lots of swimming and hiking to do and a ton of free hiking trails. If your going to be in the area you gotta stay here. Wayne is awesome. The cabin was what it was described to be. Clean and maintained. We already recommended it to family.
This was our first trip to Lake Lure area. Cabin is conveniently located nearby although not right on lake. It is a 10 minute drive to the public beach so not an issue. The mountain views from the large deck are so relaxing. Most of the deck has a roof which is nice. Fully fitted kitchen and gas grill makes it perfect to eat at home. The large Ingles grocery store is five minutes away. Many games in the basement rec room is perfect if it's a rainy day. Our dog enjoyed the gated deck for running around. The fenced yard was steep so didn't use it. All in all this cabin is very comfortable and we didn't miss a thing. (P.S. Don't let the winding road up to the cabin put you off. There is never much traffic and just keep your speed slow. ).
What a cozy, comfortable cabin! My wife and family had a wonderful time at the Silver Lake cabin. With three levels to the cabin, everyone had a place, and we never felt crowded. The grandkids loved the games--especially the foosball table. The kitchen was well-equipped. The porch was a favorite reading spot; with a porch on three sides and the decks on the back, there was always a perfect spot to settle in. When in the loft looking out the picture window at the tree tops, you felt like you were in a luxurious tree house--so relaxing. When there was a small problem with a kitchen appliance, Wayne responded very quickly and graciously to correct it! Thank you, Wayne! And, of course, there are so many places around Lake Lure to go exploring. We did something different every day and cannot wait to return!
