I have lived my entire life on the North Olympic Peninsula. I am very fortunate to live here and it is a beautiful place to visit. I have three adult children who still love to spend time and enjoy the waters of Lake Sutherland. I work and live in Port Angeles, but try to spend some weekends escaping life's demands by relaxing at the lake. I have a sign at the cabin that reads, 'If you are lucky enough to live on the water, you are lucky enough'. That says it all!
Tammy Wooldridge purchased this cabin in 2003
Lake Sutherland is a prime piece of property on the North Olympic Peninsula. This cabin was bought in 2003 and fully remodeled in 2004 - 2005. There is a public boat launch on the south shore side of the lake. This location is 10 minutes away from the Olympic National Park, 40 minutes from Forks, WA., home of Twilight books and movies and a ferry ride to British Columbia, Canada.
Fishing, boating, kayaking, tubing, skiing, bird watching, hunting, family time.
I don't hand out high ratings if not deserved, but the cabin was better and larger than expected. The pictures don't do the living room size justice. Yes, the rooms are a little cramped but it's a cabin, not a full sized house. Great location, but note that there is a very short, yet steep, trail hike required to get to the home, and no private parking . Aside from that, it's private and comes with everything you will need. Save some packing, because Tammy provided wood to burn, a kayak, cable TV, wifi internet, plates, utensils, towels, fresh and nice new sheets/pillows, and basically everything but food. We didn't meet but she had one of those realtor locks on the door so you put in a code and the key pops out. She responds to all texts and was very accommodating. I almost feel bad leaving a 5-star review because it means it might be harder for me to reserve the place next time if it gets too much praise, lol.
My wife and I loved our stay at the cozy cabin on Lake Sutherland. The cabin was well appointed and made an excellent launching point for our adventures on the Olympic Peninsula. So, stop reading about where to stay, book your trip, and experience the magic!
We used this cabin as a jumping off point for exploring Olympic, and it was perfect for us. Our 6 year old daughter especially loved the resident ducks that would hop up on the deck to greet her. Well stocked and true to its name, we were very cozy there! We had fires inside almost every night, and were able to disconnect and relax. Thanks, Tammy!
My fiancee and I had another wonderful stay at the Cozy Cabin! Playing banjo around the fire, sitting out on the dock soaking up the sun and drinking coffee while watching birds - A perfect way to get away from the busy city for awhile. I've personally recommended to a variety of friends for those who want to escape for a weekend.
I contacted Tammy at the last minute when we had a family event at the lake.
Our kids stayed there and had wonderful things to say about Cozy Cabin so we'll definitely book it again. Thank you Tammy!
My first view of the Cozy Cabin was through a curtain of golden maple leaves as I descended the stairs, what a beautiful setting! This place truly lived up to its name of, Cozy Cabin--it was clean, quiet, comfortable and contained lots of extras, like GREAT coffee! The cabin is actually much bigger than it looks in the photos online. The two days that I stayed there were like a little slice of heaven, it felt like I was the only person on the lake. I will stay again in a heart beat! Tammy was soooooo easy to work with!
We loved our week at Cozy Cabin. The views from the rooms, deck and dock were gorgeous. We really appreciated the Keurig coffee maker and pods with filters and even coffee for the big pot. So many little things were provided that are often not there in other rentals. Even the windows were sparkling clean as was the whole cabin.
The stairs were certainly a challenge for my 72 year old knees but it made the amazing milkshakes from Granny's restaurant just up the road guilt free! Try the butterscotch!
