The Combes unit is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps 8. Pet Friendly unit with a 2 dog maximum. This newly remodeled cabin is located on the north side of Donner Pass Road overlooking the lake with excellent mountain views. This home is considered a “direct lake access” unit with public piers located directly across the street. It is 20 steps up to the first level where you enter the home into the mud room and foyer. The foyer has a TV, DVD player and sofa for enjoying a book. On the bottom level are hardwood floors throughout, the laundry room, the full bath, and two bedrooms. The Kids' room has two sets of twin twin bunk beds, and the spare room has a queen size bed. Upstairs the kitchen, living room, and dining area make one big great room. The kitchen has tile marble counter tops, and tile flooring. Sliding glass doors in the dining area lead out to the shaded back deck, while the sliding glass doors in the living room lead out to the sunny front deck. Connected to the living room is a small hallway that leads to the master bedroom. The master has a queen size bed, a sliding glass door out to the front deck, and is connected to the main level full bathroom. The living room is also connected to the bathroom. This home has a required 7 night minimum with a set Friday to Friday check in and check out in the summer months. This home has a floating 2 night minimum in the winter only. Our units do not have sheets, pillow cases, or towels included in the rental, guests are requested to bring their own. However, we do offer linen rental service: sheets, pillow cases, and towels at a onetime fee of $10 per person. Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am. **Nightly Minimum Subject to Change for Holidays**

About Donner Lake Realty Inc.

DONNER LAKE REALTY INC has managed privately owned second homes and condominiums in the Donner Lake/Truckee area since 1973. Most units are available for weekly rentals; SOME are available with a two+ night minimum -- call our Office for specific details. Rates are based on a low summer season and high summer season. Low summer season is May 1st through mid-June (excluding Memorial Holiday weekend) and mid-September (excluding Labor Day Holiday Weekend) through October 31st. High summer season is mid-June through mid-September. Winter rates start November 1st through April 30th and are based on non-Holiday Nightly rates and Holiday Nightly rates.

The units we offer range from newly updated luxury units to the true mountain cabin getaway. NONE of our units have sheets, pillow cases, or towels included in the rental. However, we do offer linen rental service: sheets, pillow cases, and towels at a onetime fee of $7.50 per person. We try to accurately match the unit and it’s attributes with a reasonable price; this price includes rent, 10% tax, cleaning fee, and a refundable security deposit. The refundable security deposit and cleaning fee is based per booking, and is increased for stays over one week. The refundable security deposit is required on all reservations and is returned in the form of a check up to 21 days after check out. Consequently, we prefer to talk directly to our guests before booking so you can be comfortable with what you are renting.

What makes this house unique

We like to accept Tentative Reservations up to two years in advance in order to give our Owners an idea of the demand for their unit so they may work around your requested dates. We start accepting tentative reservations for 2018 starting May 2nd, 2016.

Unit OWNERS have the final say as to what is charged and when their unit will be available. Unless a unit becomes un-available (burst pipes, etc.) once we have confirmed your reservation, you can rest assured you have that time slot and price.

Nightly Minimum Subject to Change for Holidays : 3 night minimum January 15th - 18th 2016 for Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend, 3 night minimum February 12th - 15th 2016 for Presidents Holiday Weekend, 3 night minimum May 22nd - 25th 2015 for Memorial Holiday Weekend, 3 night minimum for 4th of July 2016 Holiday weekend, 3 night minimum for Labor Day Holiday Weekend 2016, 4 night minimum required for the Thanksgiving Holiday 2016, 7 night minimum required for 2016/17 Christmas/New Year's Holiday. Perfect Getaway place! Will definitely come back!

Working almost all year without a vacation, my family and I needed a relaxing getaway.

We rented this home for our Wedding Anniversary, and it was a great treat! The house is very spacious and very cozy. The kitchen and the family room were upstairs with a wonderful view of Donner Lake. The kitchen fully furnished with all the things we need for 3 days. The seating area at the kitchen was nice, too! The dining table have 8 seats which was perfect for the 8 of us! The deck was very spacious and was perfect place to grill for lunch. The sofa set is oriented in a way that faces the lake, and there are a lot of big windows, so you can almost have a panoramic view of the mountains and the lake. There was 1 bedroom with a king size bed where my husband and I stayed, and there are 2 more bedrooms on the 1st level. Having 2 bathrooms were a plus, too! Not only the location is close to the lake, it is close to downtown Truckee, skiing resorts, and it is 30 mins. from Lake Tahoe. We got a chance to experience Fall and winter in a day, and both scenery were fun to watch from the house. A maximum of 3 cars can fit at the driveway. This by far was one of the best places we ever stayed at, and we are thinking on coming back again on summer!

family get-away

great house. great views. very comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed for preparing meals.

we (a family of vegetarian, animal-lovers) could have done without the stuffed, dead birds all over the main living area, but we learned to not look up.

that really is the only complaint though! other than that, the house is perfect.

We come again and again!

We have been many times at this place and we absolutely love it. We love the stunning views of Donner Lake and the Mountains. The location is great for summer and winter trips. It’s very close to Sugar Bowl and not too far from Squaw Valley. The interior is very tasteful and it doesn’t feel like a vacation home at all. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining table is big enough to have friends over for dinner. We can highly recommend it. We are already looking forward to going there soon again…

Beautiful View at Donner Lake

We have stayed at this property twice once in the Winter and once in the Summer. Both times we went with another family This well kept, spacious property provides lots of privacy and is also intimate enough for a cozy gathering. The fully equipped chef's kitchen is perfect for communal cooking. There is a beautiful view of the lake -It is close to the ski resorts and the beach is just across the way- you can't go wrong any time of the year. We'll definitely be back!!

Nice House with a Great View, but needs some TLC.

This house does have an amazing view from the second floor. That's about the only thing going for it. Unfortunately, it needs a lot time and attention put into it. The upstairs bedroom closet was full of junk leaving us no room to hang our clothes. We must have killed at least a dozen spiders inside the house. The outside railings/steps were broken or missing on part of the decking. Ceiling paint was peeling in the downstairs seating area from water damage. Broken utensils, and the ones that weren't broken were dirty. Also, my biggest complaint is why the renter has to pay a cleaning fee when they are required to bring their own linens, take out the garbage before they leave, and wash and put away all the dishes. What are we paying the cleaning service to do?

Owner's Response: Sorry you didn't have a good experience. The house was rented back to back and we haven't been able to check things out since the winter. The paint has been fixed and the outside stairs railing are next on the list of things to be fixed. For the kitchen utensils and the clutter in the closet, it is also a result of us not being able to access the house and reorganize things around. We usually replace utensils all the time as well as pots and pans and dishes. Thank you for taking your garbage out. I really appreciate that. We will do our best about the spiders in the future, however, let us know if the house wasn't clean. It is important for us and the management company to know. Let us know next time you come, we'll make sure you have a pleasant stay.

Love this place!

The view is amazing - the layout is open with with beautiful and modern kitchen all facing that's's a perfect place for families with kids...with 2 of the bedrooms are located downstairs with it's own bathroom and extra space...the location is central to everything. Summer or Winter this house is a great choice for the family. highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.

Unit rents in the summer months with a 7 night minimum and a set check in and check out of Friday to Friday. Unit rents in the winter months with a 2 night minimum; subject to change for holidays. Check in time is 3pm and Check out time is 10am.

Our cancellation policy is we require all deposits be mailed to us in the form of a check within 5-7 business days of booking the reservation. If we do not receive your deposit within 10 business days you may be subject to cancellation.

There is a $50 Service Charge for any cancellation made after your Deposit has been received by us. Your final payment is due 6 week before you arrive. Any cancellations after the 6 week cut off may result in forfeiture of all RENT and TAX moneys, unless we are able to re-rent your Unit during the same time period (shorter lengths of stay will be prorated); however, you will still be charged the $50 cancellation fee.

Security deposit s are returned 14 days after check out. It is mailed back in the form of a check to the reservation address provided at the time of booking.
