About Vicki Kotsaftis
We bought the property in 2006 and finished the house (2 condos), in May 2010. Our 4 children love the area, beach, river, jungle and environment. It's common to see big Iguanas, coatimundi, (long tailed, cute, in raccoon family) lizards, colorful birds, and fruit you've never tasted before. The biggest draw was the beach, and the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. Ten miles from your beach to the sea is gorgeous snorkeling, and fishing. The main reef is about 12 miles from shore, with sport fishing, scuba diving, whale watching, etc. Famous for it's friendliness is the village of Hopkins. They all have a smile on their face, you never meet a stranger, and it's safe to walk the streets at night. The restaurants have great, very reasonably priced food. Fresh fish is available daily at many of the restaurants. Lobster is available except Feb 15 - June 15. Truly an adventure you'll never forget. Many have said that it's the best vacation they have ever had. We have the best drinking water in the country

Excellent stay. Hopkins is a fantastic place to stay and the hosts couldn't have been better.
Home is close to everything you would ever want to do while vacationing in Belize. We had a group of 15 and the house was a perfect fit.
I was traveling with my family of 5 and my mother in law from Florida and we were meeting my best friend and her family of 4 from Michigan. We were looking for a lot of relaxing, quality time together. This is one of the best vacations we have taken. The pictures do not do the house justice. It is beautiful. There is a ton of space. We rented to whole house and we had plenty of our own space but also plenty of space to hang out together. The house is well stocked with plenty of kitchen items, linens and towels. The outside space is amazing!!! There are 4 hammocks which we used daily along with comfortable lounge chairs to enjoy the sun. There was plenty of space for us all to hang out together and enjoy the beautiful beach and ocean right at our feet. They had 3 kayaks which we did intend to use but it was windy and choppy many of the days so we did not take advantage of those. We did some snorkeling but the most you will see here near the house is sand dollars, which we did bring some of those home. The beds and futons were all comfortable and fine for us for the week. There is a washer and dryer located both upstairs and downstairs. Even though it was a 2.5 hr drive from the airport, it was worth it to be able to do both coastal and inland activities. The house is down a very long bumpy dirt road but we really enjoyed the beautiful beautiful location and the fact that we had a lot of privacy for the entire week. The teenagers loved just being at the house as much as we did and we ended up doing less activities because we all just loved hanging out there so much.
Now let me tell you what really made the stay. The owners who reside in the caretakers residence were phenomenal! They really made our vacation even better. Joe and Sherry ended up feeling like family to us. In fact my husband described Joe as a brother he had never met. They were so very welcoming and bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. Both of our husbands really enjoyed just hanging out and talking with Joe. Sherry helped us book one of the best diving/snorkeling trips we have ever done. She helped us find really great places to eat and they both had great advice when we asked them about various activities. We fell in love with their dogs - Lucky and Penny - too. We both have fur babies at home and it was nice to have them around.
Overall, it was just a lovely lovely vacation with great friends in a perfect location making new friends.
Best part of our family vacation!
The house and it’s beautiful views were amazing! My huge family came down to spend 3 days away from city as part of our 2 week vacation and it was so worth it. The kids couldn’t get enough of the water and didn’t want to leave. If we could’ve stayed forever, we would have. The accommodations and amenities were perfect for us. Make sure to open the veranda doors to experience the sea breeze in the early mornings and evenings...it’s perfection!
Thank you Sherry, for everything!
We always love staying there when we do our mission trips in the Stan Creek District. Remodled
We recommend this property to all we come in contact with. Meets our needs after a hard day's work. Comfortable and lovley view. Everything worked great and was clean and well groomed outside. Pretty place to stay!
Beautiful house, beautiful beach, accommodating home owner
The house is in a great location, with a great beach and in excellent condition. The yard is well maintained and the house has everything you need! We stayed 8 nights and enjoyed every moment!
The water slopes gradually so it's great for kids and snorkeling. Plenty of shade around and hammocks for relaxing. We used the kayaks several times. There were life jackets and sand toys, bikes and kayaks, beach towels and a well stocked kitchen for cooking.
We hired the chef to cook an authentic Belizean meal one of the nights and it was a great experience!
Sherry, the owner of the house, checked in with us often to make sure we had everything we needed. She was available before our arrival to answer questions and gave us great driving directions from Belize City. She made the vacation easy and pleasant!
We plan to stay here again next time we visit Belize!
We had a wonderful Christmas vacation with family in this huge house. There were 6 adults and 9 kids so we had the whole place to ourselves and there was plenty of room. We spent our first day there just hanging out on the beach and the kayaks and hammocks got a lot of use. We were the only people around up and down the whole beach so it felt like a real get away. They have made some updates since these pictures were taken, walkway outside and some nice landscaping and a paint job. Overall, we were thrilled to be there and couldn't have asked for a better place.
Go fishing, snorkeling or scuba diving at the reef. Hike to waterfalls and swim in the pools below. Strap on a headlamp, and assisted by your guide, explore one of the many caves in Belize. Some hiking involved. Go to one of several ziplines. Get a massage or visit a spa.
