We had a wonderful stay at your house. We will stay here again-so beautiful!
We had a group of 11 adults so we rented the main house and the guest house. It is great for a group of people with plenty of room in different spaces to gather together. We cooked at the house and found everything we needed. The house is very comfortable and the location is beautiful and peaceful. The tasting room is just a short staircase away and there are many other wineries in the area so wine tasting is quite convenient. Kory was super easy to get in touch with and booking was a breeze. Once we arrived Dan was great. We absolutely will return!!
Our stay was extremely welcomed after a hectic first few months of the year. My niece, nephew-in-law and I flew in from NJ to participate in the Great Race in Augora Hills followed by a long weekend wine tasting in Santa Inez with another CA friend of mine. I have stayed at the Fess Parker Inn in Los Olivos several times and thought this would be a nice change and it truly was.
Check-in was simple, we met Dan at the wine tasting room and he gave us the keys then pointed us to the house, which is directly below the tasting room. We were like little children walking through the house deciding who was going to sleep where and taking in many of the unique features like the artwork, laundry sink, and great kitchen stove (Ryan wanted to slip it in his suitcase). With the exception of food, the house had had everything we needed, including laundry detergent and two white comfy robes.
As it was my idea to come here..I took the master bedroom, which was huge. One evening I was a little short of my 10,000 steps for the day so I gently jogged back and forth in the room until my fitbit told me I was finished for the day. The outside wall of the bathroom is all windows with lovely plants along side the inside edge. While taking my shower I could watch the emus strutting back and forth, it was almost like I was taking my shower outside.
The back porch overlooks the vineyards and we enjoyed our coffee each morning viewing all the different types of birds with the red headed woodpecker and hawks building their nest for spring being our favorite. At night it was so peacefully quite except for the coyotes barking, which for some strange reasons was comforting.
We had dinner reservations the first evening at "Sides" but were enjoying the house so much, we decided to stay in after enjoying our free wine tasting at the Koehler tasting room. On Monday we did get to eat at Sides for lunch after the most wonderful massage at the Fess Parker Inn. Joy gave a wonderful deep tissue massage, which was much needed after the run on Saturday.
We also went on an all day wine tasting trip with Stage Coach Tours. They picked us up and dropped us off at the property, which made it a carefree day for everyone to enjoy the wine tastings.
My guests and I truly enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the Koehler property and would recommend it to groups who enjoy wine tasting and spending time together.
This divine oasis deserves the seal of a Relais & Chateaux. The tranquil setting will lower your blood pressure, and the views and night sky will take your breath away. This grand home is worthy of the estate while being relaxed and comfortable. The nearby horses, sheep, and Emu will bring smiles to all who whisper to them. The still photos don't fully realize this 3 dimensional paradise. Bring CD's...everything else is there! We will be back!
We just returned from our trip and we have the blues…the good kind. Where you talk about your trip the entire drive home and you wish you could make a u-turn on the highway and head straight back to extend your trip. We have found a gem and now we have to plan our next trip. I have a feeling this will be added to our annual mini vacation list. This house is immaculate and the grounds are beautifully maintained. You can tell that Kory and Peter take pride in their vineyard. Our group of 7 stayed three nights, and the house could not have been more perfect for three couples and our dog. The pictures of the house and yard on this website do not do it justice. The furnishings and decor was rustic and elegant. Perfect for entertaining and long dinners over the vineyard. We never wanted to leave the property and we didn't need to. The tasting room is steps away up the stairs and we could make sure we were fully stocked on the Koehler wines at all times. Especially the Pinot Noir and Rose:) We had a wonderful time sipping the wines and BBQ-ing every evening. The house was well equipped with everything you may need. Come stocked with food because you will never want to leave this house. If you get sleepy, take a nap on the breezy vineyard lawn under the trees.
The best part about this house is that we loved the wines and it was very convenient to run up and buy whatever we wanted that day. A must visit winery in Los Olivos. We were fortunate enough to meet Kory during our stay, but regardless of who was running the house you were always in good hands. Dan was awesome and made sure we had everything we needed. We love Dan!
Thanks Kory, Dan and Peter for a wonderful stay. They are truly an amazing family at Koehler and we can't wait to come back! An incredible experience.
We enjoyed the house and the grounds so much! Everything was gorgeous and our group of 7 had a great time. The house is well stocked, we weren't missing anything. The yard overlooking the vineyard is perfect for grilling and sipping all the wine you purchased. Speaking of wine, the tasting room on the property is a must to visit! Very good wine! Thank you so much!
The property is ideal for location as well amenities. Our party was 5 and we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and we can't recommend it enough. Will be beack!
Located on the the prestigious Foxen Canyon Wine Trail in the Santa Ynez Valley. Wine tasting at Koehler Winery is only steps away!
