Guestbook comments from the owner

Your Ocean~Song Beach House has given us a fantastic experience in Hawaii that would not have been so exciting had we not been here at your place.

We enjoyed being able to casually rise, breakfast, and plan our days.

We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and feel the ocean come upon us.

We also enjoyed several events in this area. The Sea Life Park adventure was fantastic and the kids joined a group for hands on experience with the dolphins.

The atmosphere created by your collection of seaside decorating is quite pleasant and refreshing.

We all---Kris, Kody, Vi, Kurt and Carolyn---appreciated your spirited conversations and suggestions.

Aloha & Mahalo from all!

Stunning home next to my favorite beach in Waimanalo!

  • 5 of 5

This was my third stay in Waimanalo and I found this wonderful "Ocean Song" home for rent. Skye takes great pride in her property and it is decorated with attention to every detail. It is sparkling clean and very well maintained just as described with a master bedroom and second bedroom and bathroom. My two siblings and I were very comfortable and relaxed in this roomy home. The patio was delightful and breezy. The garden area off the patio is lovely with tropical plants, cute little geckos and a fountain. I spent my mornings out there waking up to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing on the beach and the palms flowing in the breeze. The home is located on a quiet street with direct access to the beach just a moment's walk away. Skye has comfy beach chairs, mats, towels, cooler and boogie boards handy. Waimanalo is located on the east side of the island of Oahu away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and party atmosphere of Honolulu and Waikiki. This area is maybe 35 minutes from Waikiki, less than that to Hanauma Bay, mere minutes to Kailua/Kaneohe and an hour from the North Shore. The distances are short in miles, but traffic is a challenge so add time to get where you need to go. There is really good food within walking distance of this lovely rental to include: fresh poke, Mexican (very good but a bit pricey), Keneke's for down home Hawaiian fare at a good value and the homey shrimp shack, yum! We found the delightful Siagon Noodle House just 5 miles north on Keolu Dr, Kailua. Oh...and we also found scrumptious malasadas at a little bakery near the noodle house; drive around behind the Chinese restaurant to find it. And for those of you who need your's right there too. The Diamond Head Luau at the Waikiki Aquarium was worth it. So much food and a wonderful show. Aloha Trikke tours was great fun. And we had a blast on the North Shore Shark Cage Adventure. Just do it! I highly recommend Sky's Ocean Song home for your family and we would rent this home again. You can pack light because she has a full-size washer and dryer, but be sure to bring quarters for the dryer. Aloha!

Great location on a quiet street near the beach

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Ocean Song cottage. It is very spacious and close to the beach. It took about 2-3 minutes to walk to the beach on a very quiet street. It's about 4 houses away, so you can even hear the waves from the yard. Nice sand and good waves for boogie boarding. Skye is very accommodating and welcoming! I stayed with my husband, parents, and 1 year old. It was great having two bedrooms and two baths. I made several changes to my reservation before we stayed and Skye always responding prompting and enthusiastically. We were pleasantly surprised to find an oven in the kitchen. I was a little bit more of a wimp than I expected with the humid 80 degree temps, and sometimes wished for central air, but it was nice to be able to cool the bedrooms down with the window units. We had dinner 3 times at the nearby Ono Steaks and Shrimp Shack-yum!

Toller Strand, Haus in die Jahre gekommen

  • 4 of 5

So happy we stayed at Wind~Song

  • 5 of 5

We made a great choice! Wind~Song is even better than the pictures online. Skye was amazing and made us feel very welcome. The beach is a two minute walk away (we fell in love with the pathway) and when you get there...WOW! Beach is so beautiful and not at all crowded. We felt so fortunate. Would definitely stay here again. 😊

Warm and inviting, you will love your stay in Ocean Song

  • 5 of 5

Cannot say enough about this special place!

Part of what makes Ocean Song so special is Skye's warm and generous spirit. The house is decorated with local art and photography, has all amenities, is warm and inviting, has a lanai with cool trade winds and is surrounded by a beautiful garden, all in the wonderful town of Waimanolo, well situated for exploring all parts of the island.

Some things we loved, some of which we have done before and some new things:

Meals on the breezes and the garden make it worth taking food home.

Hanauma Bay (get there early to beat the crowds).

Lyon Arboretum and Manoa Falls.

Waimea Botanical Gardens.

Taking the long way to drive up the Windward Coast to get to the North Shore was a treat...lots of small beach towns with very few tourists.

Hiking to the Makapu'u lighthouse.

Pearl Harbor

Waimanalo Beach is great for sunrises and walking, boogie boarding, and if the conditions are right, for taking a dip.

Lanikai beach is beautiful and Kailua Beach too.

The snorkeling at three tables is very good and less trafficked than many places.

Kayaking to the Mokes (we got there on our last trip and it is amazing)

The Aquarium in Waikiki is small but wonderful.

The Waimanalo Co-op! What an awesome place...try the kulolo!

Food: Ono Steak and Shrimp, Serg's fish tacos, Leonard's Malasadas, poke from Foodland and Aloha Cone, North Shore thai food truck, shave ice from Island Snow and Aloha Cone.

Again, I cannot say enough about what a special place Ocean Song is, in a wonderfull corner of paradise away from touristy HNL and Waikiki. Loved our stay so much. Mahalo nui loa to Skye for sharing her special corner of paradise.
