La Pine rental: wonderful stay

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the La Pine house for 5 days and 4 nights. There was a group of 11 of us. First the house is so big. 5,000 plus square feet. There were lots of pluses to this house. Our favorite area was the theater room, wow, this room was amazing. Comfy larger bed like sofas with the big theater screen. This was super fun and enjoyable. There is a large collection of movies there, but we did bring some of our favorites. The lap pool was super fun too. The water was warm and enjoyable the first two days, but then the water seemed to get colder. The outside weather changed very quickly to so that might be why? We really enjoyed the kitchen area with the long table and seating for 12. This room was great for puzzles, games and of course meals. I wish there were more games there. (we found 2 games and 2 puzzles). We brought our own. The bbq was big and worked well. The house is really big so each guest had their own space to sit and relax. The upstairs room with the two masters and poker table we nice. The guys had their space to have a poker tournament away from us girls (ha, ha). I would suggest putting some kitchen items upstairs cause there is a microwave and coffee pot but no cups, plates etc. It's a long walk from the kitchen downstairs to upstairs. The down stairs game room was equally as fun with the shuffle board, pool and foos ball tables. Sadly the hot tub was not clean and had way to much chemical in it so we were unable to use it. It would of been lovely, maybe next time. The walk down to the river was very enjoyable. There is a picnic table which we sat quietly and enjoyed the lovely view. There was so much to do at the house a few of our guest did not leave the whole time. Others went to the High Desert Museum and did a little hiking. All in all we had a very nice stay and would like to stay again. I would make a few suggestions for the owner: more paper products, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex would have been nice, dish soap and large garbage bags. Lucky we brought or ran to the store to get the items we needed. I wish the hot tub was clean and usable and certain areas of the house could of been a much cleaner.

Monster House

  • 4 of 5

House is huge and great for a large family, you just might not see them for the week with all of the fun things to do in the house. The kids lived in the theatre room and game room. We saw deer every morning on the property and the river frontage is nice, but a bit of a hike from the house.

The home has a lot of good amenities for entertaining a large group.

  • 3 of 5

The home is good for a large group and the kids loved the pool. It is very warm so we didn't even use the hot tub. For the time of year we were there, being outside of Sunriver wasn't an issue. We were originally disappointed to find it wasn't in Sunriver. Watch the map on VRBO because it isn't correct.

There had been construction just before we arrived so the home was dusty which was frustrating. Overall a good stay for us. But if you want enjoy the Sunriver experience, just know, it is 8 miles away.

Owner's Response: I do state that this house is 8 Miles South of SunRiver and it's on the river. I had all new carpet and Trim put into the house. I always tell people this house is 8 miles South but with this new booking system some people do not call and talk to me about the house. If you have any questions please call. This site does not show exact location untill you book and I open up the map for you.

Perfect Place for families!

  • 5 of 5

This place is great! Plenty of room, game room, movie theatre, indoor pool!! The pool is warm and you can watch TV while you swim in it. You do not need to leave and you won't get board here. The theatre room is extremely nice. Kitchen area has lots of seats to accommodate large party sizes. We stayed in the winter so we did not hang out outside much, but I am sure its great. A nice sledding hill is right by the hot tub, so don't miss that. Owner is very nice and communicates very well. I will stay here again and would recommend this property to anyone.
