Bozman House Rental Photos and Description

4 BD, 3BA, (Sleeps 10) with Paddle boards, Kayaks, Canoe, and Sailboat

Sandy Pines, with its own private waterfront, dock, and swimming pool, offers a peaceful retreat within the quiet natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region. The very private home, sited on broad navigable Harris Creek, enjoys stunning sunset views across the Chesapeake tributary, and is fully-equipped and furnished for a restful family vacation.

We provide two SUP ATX standup paddle boards, two kayaks, one canoe, and a Sunfish sailboat unlike any other rental in this area!

Sandy Pines features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. One of the bedrooms and baths is in a separate wing of the house, so that families can offer guests or relatives some privacy. Two families can comfortably share the home with comfort. The home features a screened-in porch, a renovated kitchen, a spacious dining room with water views, a living room, and a stunning high volume Bay room with views across Harris Creek. A piano makes for an added musical treat at the shore!

The home is on 3 acres tucked against a quiet cove, which allows for great kayaking, canoeing, sailing, fishing, and crabbing. A pine grove along the shoreline is a shady retreat with hammocks and furnishings to watch sunsets. The dock, with 2 ft MLW, offers pilings for tying up a small boat.

The shoreline allows for finding sea treasures and setting up a beach chair for reading and enjoying the water on Harris Creek. Your mornings will be filled with the sounds of waterfowl, and you will observe the bounty of Chesapeake wildlife during your stay. Heron, swan, and eagles all visit the area with regularity.

Sandy Pines is less than a two-hours from Washington, D.C. and three hours from Philadelphia and is located in the village of Bozman, five miles from St. Michaels, Maryland. You can walk 5 minutes to the fishing village of Neavitt, which has a playground, park, post office, and deep water boat launch. St. Michaels, Maryland and nearby Oxford, Easton, and Tilghman Island offer great cultural attractions, museums, antiques, artisans to make your stay complete.

About The Owner

We rented and then purchased this beautiful home and cherish it as a place to gather, and to be refreshed and renewed! This continues a tradition for this property. We offer this treasured place for family vacations, and 50% of our families are returning vacationers.

The Owner purchased this house in 2012

Why The Owner chose Chesapeake Bay

We loved the quiet peaceful feeling of the property, the natural beauty, and its proximity to town (St Michaels). Our two young children love the pool, outdoor area, and experiencing the creek. It's a great setting for enjoying the water in your favorite way: crabbing, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, etc.

What makes this house unique

A feeling that you have been away from the metropolitan area, that you breathe fresh air, see so many stars at night, and slip out onto the water whenever you choose!

Wonderful Get-Away for Family's Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed in Sandy Pines for a week in August, and we were thrilled with the house and property. Plenty of space in the house, well-stocked kitchen for cooking meals at home, pleasant screened-in porch for naps, and a great pool for cooling off and tiring out the kids. We really enjoyed the privacy of the lot, and the views from the hammocks and dock - it was so peaceful in the morning to watch the crab boats work their pots while we drank our coffee and read the paper, and the sunsets were brilliant. We didn't use the bikes, St. Michaels was further away than we thought, but that didn't prevent us from driving in every day to get ice cream from Justine's. There are plenty of restaurants and activities within 20 - 30 minutes, and we found Graul's to be a good (though expensive) source for groceries. We caught over a dozen crabs off the dock, using the tried and true chicken-neck-on-a-string method, as well as the crab trap stored in the pool shed. The kids enjoyed kayaking, though they chose not to SUP due to the number of jellyfish in the water. We expected a lot more mosquitoes, but never had to use our bug spray. One of our favorite memories is lying on the dock at night looking up at the stars and the Perseids meteor shower - with so little light pollution the experience was breathtaking. This home made our vacation a great experience we won't soon forget.

Perfect family vacation. Three generations

  • 5 of 5

I brought my sons, their wives,my three grandsons and my sister. Nine in all. The house was so accommodating and the pool, boats, and dock for fishing and crabbing offered such fun activities for all that it was hard to get anyone to leave the property. I let the manager know I was unhappy with the condition of the pots and pans and by mid-week a new set arrived. What a wonderful time indeed'

Everyone enjoyed relaxing poolside and on the dock!

  • 4 of 5

The house was very clean upon our arrival. Plenty of room for 10! Plenty of room outdoors for games. It is a short bike ride to the playground & basketball court. I loved the screened in porch! We didn't use the paddleboards because everyone was a little nervous of the jellyfish:( We only had one small issue with a kayak paddle that Barry & Lisa (caretakers) took care of within a half hour. The generous supply of paper towels, napkins, tissues, toilet paper, trash bags & dish soap was greatly appreciated.

Overall we had a wonderful stay and we would DEFINITELY recommend this house!!!!!!!!

However I gave this house only 4 stars because the kitchen needs a little TLC. The cookware needs to be thrown away. Fortunately I read a previous review and decided to bring my own. There is a lot of cabinet space but they are filled with many unneccesary items. There is a large pantry but it is filled with puzzles and games. These items for be better kept in the sitting room. It would be nice if the pantry was empty for guest items. Also the closet in the hall with the paint and other hardware items should be locked. Our 2 year old Granddaughter did find her way into it. This is a definite safety issue!

Brad & Lisa you have the perfect house, property and location. We are envious!

Owner's Response: We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Yes, the cookware is being fully replaced this week. We will certainly look into making sure that the hall cabinet is locked. Hope to have you back with fewer jellyfish to enjoy the paddleboards!

Overall we were pleased with our stay in St Michaeil's

  • 4 of 5

Unfortunately, my wife developed a severe upper respiratory problem within 24 hours of our arrival. After three days I had to take her home. I then returned to complete the week with my family. Although the house may have be clean by rental standards, things like under the beds were very dusty. We have no way of knowing if this caused her problem as she is extraordinarily sensitive to her environment. We would like to come back next year, but are not sure we can risk another of these occurrences. It has been two weeks since she left and she is still fighting the hacking cough.

PS The grand kids spent most of the week in the pool and loved it.

Owner's Response: We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay, but sorry to hear of your wife's respiratory problem. We do have a very strict policy on not allowing pets of any kind as many guests do have allergies. As it is a very near an outdoors environment, there are many opportunities for pollen, etc. For the future, there is also a HEPA air filter available in the closets, which can be setup in a bedroom, if you choose. We will definitely follow-up with the caretakers regarding the dust under the bed areas. The summer is a very busy season and they do there best to stay on top of keeping everything clean.

Everything you need for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to Sandy Pines and it did not disappoint! The property is a bit outside of St Michaels...probably takes 10-15 min to get to the center of St Michaels from there. You could bike it if you wanted as the roads are wide enough and there is a bike lane. But you will love the property so much that you won't want to leave. The yard is lovely, with so much shade, hammocks, chairs, and a picnic table by the water where there was almost always a breeze. There are plenty of things to keep active people busy here: badminton, two kayaks, sunfish, paddleboard. The pool is beautiful and was well cared for. Pool cleaners come every week (nice guys!). We spent much time by the pool as it was particularly hot when we were there. There is a lovely screened in porch by the pool with ample comfortable seating. Inside the house has everything you could need. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need should you choose to cook. The owners are generous in leaving behind some staple ingredients as well as what you may need for laundry and paper products. The home is clean and the furnishings are comfortable and in good condition. We love the flexibility of the bedrooms/bathrooms layout. It's easy to spread out here and if you are sharing with another family or with teenagers and friends, you won't be in each others way.

The owners and their local caretakers are responsive to any issues that may arise. The info that they provide is very detailed and clear and you should have all your questions answered from reading the property details on VRBO, but if you have other questions, they respond quickly to emails.

Summer visits require you to pack your own linens, which can take up a lot of space, but it's not really a big deal. They have plenty of pillows and blankets.

Eat stop away from it all...come prepared.

  • 4 of 5

This house is lovely for a large group of people. The separateness of each space makes it easy. The pool was nice outdoors and indoors lovely. We suffered through three plumbing problems, but the caretaker responded quickly in all three cases, and owners were great. Beds linens and towels were superb. Kitchen everything worked… Just need some more hand towels and perhaps some new pans.

The property does have quite a long walk from school to waterfront. Bring a flashlight and use Cara going out to the chairs. There's not anything else but good to say about This property ! I hope to go back with girlfriends in the fall. BTW… Cell phone coverage is spotty… But who cares!

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying. Yes, we try to respond promptly to the occasional plumbing issues etc that can come up. We will definitely look into the pots and pans in the off season to see if it is time for an upgrade. We'd love to you have you back. The fall is also a beautiful time to visit.
