This property has a fantastic location with views to die for. I would have given it five stars if not for a few small problems. First of all, we had really looked forward to fires in the beautiful round fireplace in the middle of the great room. However, there was no firewood. We called the owner and apparently the wood could not be delivered because of a storm earlier in the week. Major bummer. The heater wasn't working in the middle bedroom but that wasn't too much of a problem. The last thing that did bother us though was not being able to get the TV working even though we had a techie guy working on it. We could not watch the football playoff games that we were looking forward too. Another major bummer. So, the potential for greatness is there. Maybe you'll be luckier.
I was not sure what to expect having rented homes before and finding the pictures were not always accurate portrail of the actual place. Boy was I delighted to find that everything was what it said and showed it would be! The house has amazing views as well as tons of information on how to use the house to tide pools and places to eat. All I can say is WOW what a wonderful view! The house itself is very accommodating, the beds were nice house was clean and had just about everything we needed. We will definitely be back.
The house was very clean and exactly as described. The views are incredible! We had a blast!
This was our 2nd week-long stay at Ocean Front Home and we loved it once again! There is an ocean view from all rooms which is simply magical and the house is well maintained. My husband and I felt like we were at home, as there is everything you need to make your stay comfortable. I'm a tough sleeper and the bed was very comfy, yay! We live in the country with no street lights and we see stars, but the stars at this location are phenomenal. A storm blew off the ocean and the rain hitting the windows only added to the experience. I love winter vacations with our dogs! Thank you for a lovely time.
Love the breathtaking views and watching the fog roll in and out. The firepace came in handy on cool mornings and evenings. The closeby Manchester grocery offered everything you would want including a hardware store. Charming villages and beaches up and down highway 1.
Unfortunately, the property needs repairs, updating and a major cleaning.
If you are like me, sometimes it takes a few days to unwind, put your work world in the background, and truly relax. This home compels you to do that the minute you walk in. It is clean and comfortable, the views are to die for, the round beamed structure itself is a little bit quirky - just enough to let you know you are not in the city or the burbs. YOU ARE AT THE BEACH! Our family loved our brief stay at this home, the walk down to the beach, the nearby villages and the rugged beauty of the coast. The house is well appointed in a relaxed and casual way. Not opulent, but lacking nothing. Great memories! Highly recommend!
Warm, friendly setting, features: a home fully equipped for work or play, desk top computer, wi fi, electric piano, books and games. Short walk or car access to beach, surf and rock fishing, whale spotting tide pooling, shell collecting. During winter, the Mendocino Coast is treated to nature's great show of gray whales completing their 10,000-mile trip from Alaska to Baja, Calif. The Beach house, situated on a bluff, offers great view of their ocean route.
Coastal storms are another great show. guests need not be deterred by rain, as the cozy round fireplace, and panoramic views provide a safe and snug viewing hideaway. Spring/Summer features wildflowers, hiking trails and tidepooling. Catch and release trout pond and picnic area are a short walk.
