Wonderful Condo

  • 5 of 5

The view is utterly amazing! There were many wonderful things about the condo but my two favorites are how there is a iron gated door entry and to completely separate living quarters with separate keyed entries. The couple who stayed with us had there own separate bedroom and bath. The second was the enormous balcony! Amazing.

Great condo, great location

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at Villa La Estancia and we were very happy with this condo. The location is great, staff is excellent. We had one minor issue and Mark addressed it immediately! We will definitely return.

Wonderful family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Villa La Estancia was truly a wonderful experience. The resort itself is beautiful with fantastic food and great staff.

The suite, or mansion as my 8 year old son called it, was really perfect for our group of three adults and two boys. With a spectacular view from the terrace and very tasteful furnishings and decor we could not have had a better experience.

Our family is already looking forward to returning next year and we will definitely be contacting Mark regarding villa 2301 La Estancia!

Incredible!

Beautiful condo overlooking the ocean! Beautiful resort! Wonderful people who work at La Estancia! The food at the resort is very good, but overpriced. However, you can find wonderful food inside the city at all price levels. Great vacation and Mark was excellent and easy to work with!

Extremely Pleasant and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location of the condo! The balcony is in constant shade - you can sit outdoors any hour of the day to view the beautiful grounds. Upon arrival, check-in was easy. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with. Traveling with another couple - the layout of the condo allows for complete privacy - separate doors into the bedrooms - shared living area, kitchen, balcony. We all really enjoyed the relaxed mornings drinking our coffee and watching the various cruise ships in the Sea of Cortez. The beaches were off limits for a few days due to the tropical storm that had recently passed - lots of clean up on the beach was necessary. Once they opened the gates to allow us to sun on the chaise lounges set-up on the beach it was just awesome! The wait staff will simply come out to you out on the beach as well to serve you drinks or food. Pools were very tranquil, a quiet pool - if you are looking for more activities going on you need to walk over to the neighboring (sister) hotel - it's a more lively crowd. The food and drinks can get costly if you opt out of the all-inclusive option. We simply had our driver stop at the local Walmart nearby and purchased all of our food and alcohol for the week. Catching a shuttle bus taxi into town is easy and cheap, approx. $2.00 per person each way. We had a group of 8 that traveled with all so the shuttle bus was perfect!. We arranged for an ATV excursion from the guys selling packages on the beach - they are in abundance (all dressed in white for easy spotting). Although, once you tell them you are not interested, they will walk away - kinda annoying. Regarding the condo - it is beautifully decorated but needs some end of season work and replacements - such as the teflon skillets - the handles are all loose and the skillets are very scratched. The dining room chairs all need tightening - very wobbly. The front door in suite A was extremely hard to open - needs to be pushed up and the hinges need to be tighten. We had to go out the balcony door and through suite B to exit. Owning a rental home myself, these minor fixes are normal for the amount of usage during the summer. I would definitely rent the condo again. Mark was very responsive and provided great information.

Pros and cons

  • 3 of 5

There were lots of good things about this property and some not so good, which is why I gave it 3 stars. Lets start with the good: unit is as pictured, very easy to book, check in, and get to; floors, bathrooms, kitchen, balcony were clean; cleaning service (provided by resort) was good and consistent; towel service (provided by resort) was great, meaning plenty of towels and turnovers every two days, no need to wash the towels; coffee filters and DW detergent provided. The toiletries were provided by resort, which I didn't know and always bring my own soap, shampoo and conditioner. Pleasantly surprised at the level of soap (made in Italy), great brand. Another unusual plus was the awesome hair dryer in the master. Lastly, the location was great. There are three buildings, and this unit is in the furthest back, which meant the balcony was shielded from sun all day. This was great after being in the sun for several hours, it was nice to be able to go out to a shaded balcony. Nice view, not too far from anything on property. Now onto the not so great features. The lack of water/juice drinking glasses, while there is an overabundance of champagne and margarita glasses. Two proper drinking glasses and two reusable plastic goblets. We bought solo cups as it was just easier with kids. The clothes dryer is terrible. Takes many cycles to dry small loads, and makes an incessant, high pitched squeak for entire cycle. We used kitchen for breakfasts and made one dinner. The pots/pans are quite old and scratched. Missing normal size spoons, many large soup spoons, and many tiny spoons (as small as baby spoons). The inside dining chairs are very wobbly, I'm not sure they could support a heavy person. Lastly, and what bothered me the most was the fabric furniture and seat cushions on the deck are in need of replacement. Not just pilled, holes, rips, and an overall dirty/worn look. I used towels to sit on. If these few things were improved, I would give it 4 or possibly 5 stars. Also, regarding the resort (not related to this rental property), it was incredibly busy for being the "low season" hottest time of year. Too many people at pool and didn't feel the pool was clean enough. Cloudy water and lots of things floating in it. Hardly went in the pool for this reason, and because water was like a warm bath and not too refreshing. Rules are not to save pool chairs, yet staff were saving chairs for certain guests. Room service food was average at best.

About Mark

Vacations of Splendor is a family owned and operated vacation rental business. My father and uncle own the properties and I am the Sales/Web Manager. Nice to meet you!

Mark purchased this condo in 2006

Why Mark chose Cabo San Lucas

We absolutely love the luxury Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa for a multitude of reasons - the amazing views of Lands End right from your bedroom, the wonderful clear waters, the downtown nightlife. You really can't beat it!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Mark,

My husband and I have rented the La Estancia condo in Cabo San Lucas from you for three years in a row, for two weeks at a time. (Talk about a vacation!!!) We booked the first year based on the excellent recommendation we recieved from a personal friend who rented the unit from you the year prior.

The condo is everything you claim it to be, and more!!! The prices are the best anywhere! Everytime we step into the beautiful condo, it feels like home!! The lush tropical grounds, the welcoming and trustworthy staff, the ammeneties are paradise right on Earth.

I'm ready to fly out tomorrow, just thinking about it!!!"

Whether Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo or Todos Santos, you will find some of the friendliest and happiest people in the world in this splendid Baja paradise at Esplendor Del Cabo!

Golf: The addition of an international airport in the early 1980’s helped fuel phenomenal growth and development while retaining its friendly charm making Cabo San Lucas a world class destination. Perfectly situated on famous Medano Beach near the heart of Cabo San Lucas, Esplendor Del Cabo is within walking distance or a short water taxi ride to the center of town and lively marina area. While near the action, it offers quiet and privacy in the luxury gated development of Villa La Estancia.

Here are just a few of the things to do in Cabo San Lucas:

Golf - During the past 20 years, many golf courses have sprung up along the corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, together referred to as Los Cabos (or 'the capes' in English). You can probably leave that rain gear back home as Cabo San Lucas receives only about 17 inches of rain per year.

Fishing - Cabo San Lucas is known as the 'Marlin Capital of the World' and hosts the world’s richest marlin fishing tournament each October. With a large private charter fishing fleet and 650 species of marine life, Cabo San Lucas offers one of the best fishing destinations in the world.

Diving/Snorkeling - Jacques Cousteau and innumerable underwater adventurers have have described the Sea of Cortez as “The World’s Richest Sea”. This is especially true of the waters that caress the southern tip of the Baja.

Nightlife - Some visitors to Cabo prefer to sleep in or and some prefer not to sleep at all. In addition to the many attractions during the day and evening, Cabo San Lucas is also the nightlife center of Southern Baja as the distinction between day and night is sometimes blurred.
