|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
This is your opportunity to stay at a very special property which is only minutes from the delights of Hershey (25 minutes), the history of Gettysburg (40 minutes)/Harrisburg (15 minutes), and Lancaster (50 minutes), or the summer or winter fun of Ski Round Top (15 minutes).
The “Wright Retreat” is a home that was designed in 1963 by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The home is set on a beautiful 7 acre wooded lot at the end of a quarter mile long driveway. Relax on the large 2-level back patio, overlooking the treed acreage and pool, and enjoy only the sounds and sights of the wide variety of birds (including hawks and eagles), deer and an occasional fox, or, host an event (wedding, retreat) for family and friends.
The unique aspects of this one level, 4,200 square foot home include a large corner fireplace in the living room (one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s signature features), a smaller fireplace in the master bedroom suite and a wood burning stove in the family room; built-in couches and bookshelves in the large open living room and in the family room, adjacent to the kitchen; built in desks, planters and dressers abound throughout the home; and skylights in the kitchen and master bathroom enhance the warm of the home. A second large family room/library with a large screen TV and leather furniture is a short distance away from the kitchen area. This home contains over 125 different windows, making Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision of bringing nature into your living environment, a reality.
Whether you want to escape from your hectic life, take advantage of the many activities in the surrounding area, or host an event, do it in the “Wright Retreat”!

I acquired this unique property just a few years ago and have since come to appreciate not only the beauty and uniqueness of the property but also the vision and genius of Frank Lloyd Wright. It is truly a work of art which I hope others can enjoy and appreciate as well.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
The great thing about this property, aside from the complete privacy, peace and quite, is the close proximity to so many things (Hershey Park, the history of Gettysburg, the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, the minor league baseball park on City Island in Harrisburg, shopping and the Amish country in Lancaster, etc.). Because of the central location, you can visit a different area each day and not have far to travel.
We LOVED the house. Very warm, inviting and unique. It was also beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had our family in the area over for a large get together on New Year's Day and there was plenty of room very everyone. The house is well equipped and appointed. We look forward to coming back soon.
This was a perfect spot to converge upon for Thanksgiving. The house is great - comfortable, well-stocked, and a really great design. The property manager is helpful and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
I highly recommend this home for anyone traveling to the area. We came for a week with my dance competition team. There were plenty of beds to accommodate the girls (and the beds are very comfortable!) the kitchen is fully
stocked with pots and pans and other cooking utensils.
The neighbor stopped by regularly to check on the area. Cameras are surrounding the home for
Security. The pool is beautiful and clean! The only complaint we had was with the hot water. Back to back showers are
Not recommended... Hot water
Ran out quickly.
Overall, it was a beautiful place to stay.
My family of 6 and I had a great time at this property. It was conveniently located (we were there for a Dickinson graduation) and Mike, the owner, was so accommodating and welcoming, setting up the pool for us a week early and allowing us to stay late when the graduation was going over. Would definitely go again.
Our family of 5 stayed here for 3 nights and found the house very unique. It was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. We enjoyed travelling to Hershey Park and other nearby attractions. My children loved the pool - especially swimming with the pool lights on in the dark. My daughter enjoyed playing outside with the cats every day - Minx especially craved attention! The literature supplied by the owner for nearby restaurants was appreciated. We enjoy Chinese food and the take-out at the Giant store was delicious (close by and easier than making our own meals!). Thanks for allowing us to stay at the Wright Retreat Michelle.
The Wright Retreat is absolutely amazing! Pictures do not do the property justice. We spent four nights here while attending a wedding in Dillsburg. Everything we needed was nearby via a scenic 15-30 minute drive. But why go anywhere when you have such a huge home to relax in, with a beautiful pool to boot! Chris, the property manager, was very informative about the property and all of the wildlife around. Michelle was also a super accommodating hostess, as well. The architecture of the house itself was something to behold, and kept us all intrigued by its nuances. We're already trying to find time to return later this year!
We stayed at this unique 'Wright' property, with our two children. We could have housed another 3 families and been comfortable. It was like going back in time, to this 1963 house, with all of the original fixtures and details attached. The library was so extensive, we wanted to stay for another week, just to peruse and get lost in the books. Even though the property is accessible and close to Harrisburg, you feel very remote. It's the perfect property for a 'getaway'. It somehow has the atmosphere of another country, or California. It doesn't feel luxurious, as a modern house or a hotel would, but the character of the house is so unique, it's well worth the trip.
