Fell in LOVE with Isla in 1999' when first was introduced by my girlfriend Julie. My husband and I purchased something on that trip, which led into the building of our wonderful, 'Casa de las Palmas' - a dream come true! We love Isla and think of it as our home. We love sharing our 'beautiful oasis' with all our family and friends (and new friends)! We are an active, athletic and personable family, who enjoys quality of life with family and friends. Please visit our 'oasis' for yourself to see what we LOVE and enjoy!
Sandra Usher purchased this townhome in 2004
We wanted something safe, fun, beautiful Caribbean/Gulf waters, along with good medical and modern conveniences. Isla is not only all of that, but more. We decided on this property to build and make our own because of the constant cool breeze and beautiful views.
We built the 2 casita's and the pool and gardens first. The main Villa was just finished in April 2009 and was a vision after the fact that we were going to build 2 more identical casita's, when I thought with our large family it would be fun to knock out the wall and make one big Villa. With all 3 units on one property we can now house not only our family, but other friends as well. Everyone seems to never want to leave the pool and gardens. We have spent countless hours on the outdoor covered patio's and have had several BBQ's on our outdoor bbq with a lot of fresh fish. Another big hit is my new massage table! Wonderful massage therapists abound on Isla, and my family and friends love a massage under the palapa. It is truly like being in your own 'private' estate with all the conveniences of home! Each suite is tastefully decorated and equipped.
My family and I stayed at Casa de las Palmas in June. We have been to Hawaii and Costa Rica, both of which we loved. But we all agreed that the 9 days at Cas de las Palmas on Isla Mujeres was the BEST vacation we have ever taken based on the variety of unique experiences we had.
Among the highlights were swimming with the whale sharks, Dolphin Discovery, Garrafon Park, watching the sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs and wrestling a lobster out of his lair. The snorkeling was great with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the Carribean on the other. One day I saw a school of over 200 fish with at least 5 different species. We also took a trip to an underground river, on the mainland, called Rio Secreto.
Casa de las Palmas itself is one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed! The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is wonderful- our kids didn't want to get out.
The owners, Karl and Sandra, are the nicest people and can tell you the best places to eat. Our recommendation is the french toast at the French Bistro in town- the best you'll ever eat!
I could go on and on about the place and the friendly people on the island but you'll just have to see for yourselves. I can tell you our 11 and 14 year old boys are still talking about the vacation. We will always cherish our fond memories of this trip!

My husband and I stayed at Casa de Las Palmas for a week in January with 9 of our friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. The house was straight out of a dream, just beautiful! Sandra was very easy to work with and although we had a couple issues arise, they were quickly dealt with. I would highly recommend staying here.
The house and grounds are even better than the pictures! The property is so comfortable that many days we never left!! We had 4 generations from all over the US come to Isla - the property was perfect for our group that ranged in age from 9 to 85! Thank you to Candy for her cleaning help and to Sandra for making sure we were taken care of and making booking very easy. Would recomend islamujeresgolfcartrentals.com (book & pay on line and Omar at your service to call for trouble - we had two issues and he helped us right away!), atyourservicecancun.com for transportation - felipe was great with all of our group and of course dinnerentertainmentislamujeres.com for our catering needs - Marla and Janvier were AWESOME, great food, entertainment and people!! thanks again to Sandra and her team for a wonderful family vacation - this house was PERFECT and would highly recommend the property!
Stayed at Casa de las Palmas from July 4-11, 2015 and had a wonderful stay. Our group was 12 adults (6 couples) so we occupied the main house and Casita A. Sandra was wonderful to deal with before and during our stay. She answered all my questions and made herself available by phone any time I wanted to talk and not just about the property, but the island, where to go, what to do, converting currency, renting golf carts, you name it. The place is exactly what you see - beautiful and well maintained. This was our first time to Isla Mujeres and we feel we made an excellent choice and would rent the place again without hesitation. The main house and casita were well furnished with very comfortable beds with lots of cooking utensils, spices around the house to use, plenty of freezer/refrigerator space, etc. If you are looking for a really nice, well kept, well furnished place to stay on the island, look no further. Sandra will go out of her way to ensure your stay is enjoyable!
We had a group of 15 people from 3 different families and we could not have asked for a better property to accommodate us! Our group has been to Isla Mujeres before and while we have always had great accommodations, this rental tops them all!
Each family was able to have their own space since we rented the Villa and both Casitas. The buildings were spacious, comfortable and well stocked with whatever you needed to make your own meals. Our group even encountered a rainy day but with the size of the Villa we were all able to be inside together without feeling cramped. There were even games to keep our kids occupied and off of their electronics.
The pool area was great! Even with all of the kids we had along, there was plenty of room for everyone both in the pool and around. You were able to sit in the sun or in the shade with plenty of chairs for everyone. The kids also enjoyed being able to go across the street and look for shells on the beach.
The property is well maintained both inside and out. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to not have any shortage of bathrooms. One of the things I miss most is the view of the Caribbean...it is stunning from the master bedrooms!
I would highly recommend this property and will definitely be renting there again!
I am so sorry to have taken so long to send you a note on our stay at your absolutely lovely home. Our stay from November 1 through November 10th 2012 was just about the most fun we've had on Isla (our 4th trip). If the Island it self were not so beautiful, we could have simply stayed at your home and been more than happy....beach access, shell hunting, sunrise. The house itself was magnificent, such grandeur inside and out! The grounds were impeccable, we saw a large turtle going up the walkway to the house, only one scorpion (baby) and one little tiny garden snake....nothing that would cause any concern, just what is expected in such beautiful lush tropical surroundings. The pool was refreshing, very large, clean and just plain FUN for the entire family (age range 9 months to 53 years...) My grandson did the banana tree "check" twice a day to see if any were ready and ripe to eat...not on this trip. The coconut trees were pretty full and the gardener opened several for our group. The outdoor terrace furniture had been replaced during our stay and it was beautiful. We did flip cushions for "Negro", as this is where he likes to meet and greet your guests, which I must say is very unusual, as if he knew who we were and knew we belonged. If we had a delivery....he knew and let us know a "stranger" was on property, great dog!!!
The inside of the house was showcase beautiful, but also allowed for comfort and privacy for larger groups. The kitchen had all the amenities of home and then some, we did do lots of cooking due to having 3 children under the age of 4 and rather fixed taste buds at this age. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable, beds were very comfortable not your standard run of the mill mattress. The one absolute frivolous bonus was the washer/dryer, which means LESS luggage on the plane and saved on check in luggage fees...(have to find ways to save). I can not think of one thing that your house did not offer that we needed, lots of spices, kitchen gadgets, clean fresh linens and towels, bath products, candles (replaced as used...just the right thing to do), oh yea and hammocks in all the right places, also the telescope was great, however with the 3 young children we did put that in the closed off pantry after use. Your attention to detail was impressive, we can not thank you enough for sharing your lovely home with us Isla "wanna be" homeowners. We would recommend your house 100% to our friends, family and anyone who's interest was peaked
This property is stunning and even better than described! It is very well maintained and the owners, Karl and Sandra, are such a pleasure to get to know if you are lucky enough to be there while they are.
We loved the location toward the south end of the island. It is so easy to get wherever you want to go on the golf carts available to rent at numerous places on the island. The grounds at this property are so serene, the perfect blend of grass, plants, trees, and pool - you won't want to leave! But you have to leave, because the island and all it offers beckons. Make a day trip to Playa Norte, shop and dine on Hidalgo Ave, visit Garrafon and snorkel, dine at Punta Sur, and make a brief visit at the turtle farm (your donation will help keep it going).
We stayed in Casita A. It was appointed very well, and the kitchen has everything you need should you choose to cook some meals and enjoy drinks or snacks there. Everything worked perfectly, except the microwave, which the owners promptly replaced! It was unbelievable the attention to detail these people have, making for the best stay you can imagine. We loved the front deck in the morning and the rear patio in the afternoon.
One is tempted to give a poor review to keep this wonderful property a secret!
Dolphin Discovery and the Garrafon National Park are really close and a great time. X-Plor, Xel-Ha, and X-Caret are all in Cancun and all a great day!
