Peace and quiet! Superb views. Abundance of deer, wild turkey, quail, ground hogs and birds. Nearby fishing. Relaxing!
We had a great time as usual. We stay here in July for a family reunion, next year will be our 5th year. Then in September my husband sons, grandson and I go for the Labor Day weekend. We love staying here. The view is gorgeous!! It's so relaxing and vey peaceful.
The location is amazing and the views are just as shown in the pictures. The house is in a nice secluded location, but is only 15 miles away from Spruce Pine, which has a great grocery store, restaurants etc. We were a group of 7 adults and 5 kids and had plenty of space for everyone. I am definitely planning to come back in the fall.
Thanksgiving week 2016
This Mountain home was IDEAL for us, too. There is plenty of room for me, my husband, my seven children and their two guests. I love the open layout - I could keep up with everything going on while cooking Thanksgiving dinner - and could see the beautiful view of Mt. Mitchell while eating at the dining table. Gorgeous mountain views from every side!! Of course, the garage game room was the children's favorite gathering spot. Lingering on the porch was very enticing, but we did venture out to spend one day at Linville Falls and another on a trip to the Mast General Store in Valle Crusis - plus enjoying Roan Mountain and downtown Spruce Pine and Bakersville - we highly recommend Helen's in Bakersville. We hope to stay here again one day.
This is an amazing house, especially for an extended family. The property is well maintained and there is a neighbor caretaker who has local knowledge and is very nice. The view of the Blue Ridge from the back porch is so beautiful that you may spend hours just sitting in one of the rockers and decide to just stay there all day. I almost hate to write a good review because I want to keep this place a secret. It's a great place for kids and is set up perfectly to entertain them. There is a giant upstairs loft with bunks for 5 children. The decor is beautiful but also homey and comfortable.

This was our first experience with vrbo and if they are all half as good as this experience it won't be our last! The home was fully stocked with everything all 15 of us could have needed (all we really needed to bring was food and toiletries!) somebody came by everyday to check on us and make sure we didn't need anything. The views were spectacular. We had 3 children ages 8, 6, and 4 with us and they LOVED playing out in the yard and watching the cows. It was a trip we will all never forget
Wow, what a view from this property. House was nicely decorated. Plenty of space for a large family. Nice walking trails from the house. This is a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Great neighbors, were very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the front deck. Would highly reccommend this property to truly relax, unwind and soak up the nature! Peace and tranquility awaits.
