Peace and quiet! Superb views. Abundance of deer, wild turkey, quail, ground hogs and birds. Nearby fishing. Relaxing!
This was our first experience with vrbo and if they are all half as good as this experience it won't be our last! The home was fully stocked with everything all 15 of us could have needed (all we really needed to bring was food and toiletries!) somebody came by everyday to check on us and make sure we didn't need anything. The views were spectacular. We had 3 children ages 8, 6, and 4 with us and they LOVED playing out in the yard and watching the cows. It was a trip we will all never forget
Wow, what a view from this property. House was nicely decorated. Plenty of space for a large family. Nice walking trails from the house. This is a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Great neighbors, were very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the front deck. Would highly reccommend this property to truly relax, unwind and soak up the nature! Peace and tranquility awaits.
The view is diverse with a long range panoramic view with short range views and pasture. The cabin is large and very comfortable. It was actually a lot more space than my wife and I needed. Two families could stay there without getting in each other's way. The location was great for us, since we went to both Asheville and Boone and cabin is about halfway in between. The location offers privacy as well. We also enjoyed jogging/hiking the gravel streets and trails above the cabin. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants and unforgetable Blue Ridge mountain experience.
I can not say enough about how wonderful this home is...one of the best vacations I've taken. We had 8 adults and 8 children, all the adults had their own room and the large suite above the garage was perfect for the kids. There were a couple days when the kids came down to eat and then went back up for more movies, WII, games and bonding time. The view morning, noon and night is breathtaking. Home is described perfectly, rooms are all large and the antiques all over the house made is feel even more special. We went to Grandfather Mountain, which I highly recommend, Bakersville, SprucePine..all very lovely little towns. The house was very clean, and the property very well maintained. By the end of the week there were cows grazing in the field just outside the fence. The owners were fabulous, willing to work with me through all my crazy requests and gave some great info on things to do in right there on the mountain.
As I sit at my computer I can feel the fresh mountain air from this front porch. We are counting the hours until we will arrive to this beautiful home. Guys going to the Bristol NASCAR Races, Girls going to enjoy all it has to offer......the view, swing, rocking chairs and drink wine! Will follow up with the rating details on Monday!
We are always skeptical when reserving something online because you never know for sure if the pictures will match the real thing. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very nice with many antiques and personal homey touches. The picture doesn't do the view justice also there were cows grazing every night in the field in front of the cabin. We saw groundhog, turkey, and bunnies. Great hiking around the cabin.
The towns surrounding were too cute!!! But note Bakersville is a dry city so if you want to buy a bottle of wine to enjoy with the view, you better BYOB or pick it up in Burnsville or Spruce Pine.
We all enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement. The two refrigerators and extra freezer was awesome. The kitchen had everything including crock-pot, blender, grill utensils, toaster, etc. We never found the clothes iron but there was an ironing board. We didn't find a hand mixer for the brownies but the whisk worked fine. Many things basics(like spices, condiments) were there in case we forgot something. Both gas and charcoal grills worked perfect.
The bedroom over the garage was so nice...it was like its own suite. It has a huge sitting room with TV, many couches, and four twin beds plus it's own bathroom. The girls never wanted to come down.
We didn't do any activities except explore cause it rained almost everyday but we had fun anyways.
The only thing I missed with this cabin compared with others we have stayed at is the sign-in book. We love reading the story of the cabin and those who have enjoyed the cabin. The little tips on what to do, critters spotted, etc. Like we had the calves running through the front yard one night and it was a hoot.
To wrap it up, we had a blast. We would definitely stay again. The owner was very helpful and always available for any question or concern. The price was perfect for our group of 11.
Thanks so much for memories we will never forget and a "home away from home" to enjoy.
