Great spring break week!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Dolphin East for the Spring Break week (March 11-18, 2017). What attracted us was that the house was far away from the Gulf Shores spring break crowds, since our party included 5 kids aged 8 & under. We wanted to be in a place where we didn't have to fight for beach space and didn't have to deal with loud college kids partying all night. If that is what you are looking for, this is the place! We had 11 total people and everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen had pretty much everything that we needed, equipment-wise, as we cooked most of our meals at the house. Only additional things we brought were a crock pot and electric pancake griddle. The furnishings and furniture were great at the house, and there was enough parking for the 3 large SUVs that we had...we could have probably had 1 more. The bedrooms themselves are nicely sized, with closets, and the master suite is large and has it's own balcony. From the back porch, it takes about 2 minutes to walk to the water's edge, and it's not too far to carry things. The beach is very nice...white sand...and there is always a nice collection of new seashells to pick through each day (my 8 year old daughter came home with 10 sand dollars). We saw pods of dolphins every day that we were there, which was also fun for the kids. We went into Gulf Shores a few times to go to the store (a nice Publix) and for a bit of entertainment when the weather wasn't cooperating. The trip is an easy 25 minute drive. We also went across the road to Tacky Jack's for dinner on the first night...good food and nice outdoor seating areas. The Sassy Bass is a restaurant about 3-5 minute drive away and has a small grocery inside that has essentials and a bit more, including a liquor store. The property itself was very clean and well-maintained...a bit more so than I would normally expect for a beach house. Everything was, I believe, described accurately in the listing for the house. Top floor has 3 bedrooms (master bedroom/bath, king bedroom/bath, two doubles) and main floor has 2 bedrooms (king bedroom/bath, bunk beds with double mattresses). Also the hangout room on top floor is handy for the kids, including a DVD player and XBOX 360. Finally, the owner, Shawn, provided top-notch customer service and response throughout the process. We didn't have really any issues at all. Would definitely recommend this to others, and would love to go back again someday!! Book this place!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a week at Dolphin East and had an amazing time! Our last family vacation had been in 2003, when my three children were teenagers. Now they were grown, married, and with four children ages 3 and under among them. I wasn't sure what to expect and how everyone would be able to manage together for a week. But it was fantastic! There were a total of 12 of us, and there was plenty of room for everyone. Since we were right on the beach, it was easy to come back to the house for meals and naps. The house was clean and beautiful, with all the amenities I could imagine. There were plenty of beach chairs and beach toys for the children. The beach was not at all crowded and seemed very private. We had evenings relaxing on the deck and chasing crabs on the beach. We absolutely loved every minute of our time there. The owner was a pleasure to work with, responding to every emailed question very quickly and pleasantly. My eldest granddaughter (almost 3 1/2) said almost every day that "it was the best day ever" - it was the best vacation ever, and we definitely plan to come back here again.

House was better than expected. We had our whole family down for our son's wedding and did not feel crowded with everyone in the same house. Beach was great. Homeowner was very helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Best week ever

  • 5 of 5

We had the best week ever! We came with a big group and also had the house next door . There was plenty of room to accommodate everyone. We loved the beautiful weather, the uncrowded beach, fishing off the private Bay to Breakers pier and sitting out on the deck every night. This house was more than we expected and had everything we could have ever needed or wanted. The owner was pleasant to work with on planning and even text during the week to see how we were liking it. All though we never visited the pool (because shockingly the kids just wanted to stay on the beach) it was nice to know that it was there just incase we needed a break from the sand. We also liked the culdesac like area because it was great for our kids to safely ride their bikes. We went crab hunting at night and saw dolphins swimming by while we were swimming. I can honestly say that this was probably one of the best vactions I have ever been on and our group completely agrees that we will definitely be taking this trip again.

Ft. Morgan Beach is Amazing!! Located on the Peninsula of Gulf shores this beach is beautiful and serene. Our family has traveled to many of the panhandle beaches and Ft. Morgan is the best by far. We had a blast paddle boarding, Awesome experience kayaking with the dolphins and the best part is you can have the equipment delivered and picked up at your door. There were 12 of us staying at Dolphin East and it was very comfortable and roomy. We loved this house from its beautiful relaxing décor to the well equipped kitchen and spacious bedrooms. You can enjoy the gorgeous view from a nice screen porch that leads to a cool deck. The short distance to the beach was a definite plus. The kids loved the pool! We had fun going to the local bar/restaurants Tacky Jack's is a great place to hang and sing a little karaoke:) and Sassy Bass is a yummy place to eat! Will definitely stay at Dolphin East again, already looking into next year.

Great Place To Stay! Luxury for Sure!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at Dolphin East. Our family of 4 adults and 1 child (2 years old) had way more room than we needed, but loved being able to have our space! The accommodations were terrific! All the extras that we needed were there. The beautiful deck and screened in porch got us through the overcast skies and rain showers (pretty much the whole week we were there). The fun on the beach, the short trip into town for seafood, driving go-carts, and the local Tacky Jack's (a walk away - where we met a friend of the owner) gave us just enough "away from home" activity. What a terrific time with our family. Thanks Shawn and Stephanie!
