About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

In the second story of our home we have two bedrooms, a full bath, kitchen and living room with a private entrance. Perfect for families or a couple of couples. Enjoy Mount Marathon through your window or a quick walk gets you to the trail head, afterward take in the beautiful bay view and relax in the comfortable living room.

A five minute walk to downtown shops, restaurants and the Alaska SeaLife Center. A beautiful one mile stroll along the waterfront gets you to the small boat harbor where more shops and restaurants are located. There you will also find wildlife/glacier cruises and tours, fishing charters. Seward offers many adventures like dog sledding on Godwin Glaciers, kayaking near glaciers as well as sailing.

It is just over a mile to the train station and cruise ship terminal.

In one bedroom we have a queen sized bed and in the other a king bed that can be converted into two twin beds. We also have a roll-a-way that can be set up in the living room.

About The Owner

We are recently married and met in 2005 in the great town of Seward. We love travel, adventure and of course Alaska.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose Kenai Peninsula

After spending many summers here and struggling to find a place to rent we decided to invest. Seward is filled with good people & fun things to do. And we love being able to walk most places in this small town.

What makes this house unique

We are here and happy to help you plan your vacation, answer questions and share what we know about the area.

Close to town and great Resurrection Bay views

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The host was very communicative. Whether you are in town to see the city, hike the glacier, or take a boat tour, you cannot go wrong making this your home base. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed just sitting in the living room watching the swallows with the beautiful mountains in the background! Highly recommend!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

It exceeded our expectations! Host had beds made up for us beforehand because we needed more sleeping space than the two bedrooms which was really great and unexpected.

Seward GetAway

  • 5 of 5

Great location. Awesome views of the Mountains & Bay from every window. The apartment was walk able from any place in Seward. We found great places to eat. Lots of history, shopping, hiking opportunities. A short drive to hike up to beautiful Exit Glacier. Cruise with sightings of whales, puffins, beautiful fjords. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed. Even though we didn't arrive until late in the evening there was a welcome message and easy access to the key for entry. Thanks Vanessa! We loved quirky Seward.

Nice artistic touches make it feel like home, and even the shower has a view.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay, and the artistic touches throughout the place were a pleasant surprise - the listing photos don't quite do justice to the quality of the space. Even with really rainy weather we could still enjoy the amazing views. It was actually great to have a place where you could sit inside when it was raining and still look out at the beautiful scenery, rather than feeling like you were just losing your vacation by hiding inside somewhere. Even the shower has probably the best view of any shower in Seward - Mt. Marathon! The owner quickly and pleasantly introduced himself once we pulled into the driveway. The space is great, and location is perfect - we walked downtown for coffee and bagels at the Resurrection Art coffee shop in the morning and for dinner at the Cookery in the evening. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the overall layout with the open kitchen/living space works well for a social traveling group. However, the bedrooms are immediately off the living room, so it might not work well for a group that has some people who want to go to bed early and some who don't. I'm not sure it was clear in the posting that there isn't exactly a normal dining table - dining seating is just at the kitchen bar - but this wasn't an issue for us. The kitchen was better equipped than the rental we had been in the night before in Anchorage. It took us a bit to find the laundry detergent tucked away downstairs, but we did eventually find it before we had to ask the owners. Overall we didn't have a single complaint and really enjoyed our stay. Our one request or recommendation to the owners would be to invest in heavier-duty bar stools for the dining space, as we had to keep a close eye on our 11 month old to ensure he didn't grab the leg of one and tip it over on his head.

Super clean, roomy, and perfectly located. We would stay here again with no hesitation. The owners were very nice and responsive. Thank-you! We had a blast!

P.S. The pictures posted don't do this place justice, it is awesome.
