Tony and Lori from San Francisco, California, bought this condo in 2006. We renovated the entire unit, and enjoy visiting the Big Island at least once a year until we retire and can spend more time there.

We found the Waikoloa area best fit our needs. It is only 6 miles from the best beaches. Restaurants are also within close proximity if you want to dine out, but we prefer to BBQ on the Lanai. Hilo is just over the hill about 1 hour and Kona is about a 20 minute drive.
Very enjoyable stay, lots of hiking areas. Cool Beaches. Drove up to the keck Telescopes, fantastic....Hilo is very close with that new Highway.
Spacious, clean, great location!!!
Perfect for a honeymoon, family vacation, girls trip or winter getaway!!!
Kitchen well stocked with everything you might need! Enjoyed the use of beach supplies too!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The view over the golf course is lovely and we enjoyed watching the bird life carry on every morning. The house is well equipped and we especially liked that we didn't have to buy expensive items like dishwasher detergent and then leave most of it when we went home. We replenished some items that were running low including refilling the propane tank for the barbecue. This is a better way to do things in our opinion.
The downsides are two-fold. The condo (Homeaway had it misplaced on the map they sent us when we were checking in) is on Paniolo Ave. This is a main thoroughfare and traffic was heavy and noisy starting at the surprising hour of 4:30 am. There is no air conditioning so closing the windows is not really a solution. The other wildlife were cockroaches which we found at various times throughout the house including in our clothes when we were packing up to leave even after the unit was sprayed. A bit gross. The owner says this is part of life in the tropics but we could do without them.
We stayed at the condo for a week and it absolutely was great. The place itself was comfortably decorated and arranged. We are a family of 4 and there was plenty of space. The view from the lanai was very peaceful. The location was very convenient, being only blocks from groceries and gas. There were plenty of books to help us find beaches and activities on the island.
We would stay here again for certain.
The local shopping center features Gas, Groceries, ATM, Mail Drop, Propane refill, Hair & nails, Movie Rental, Bank, Restaurants, Subway sandwich, Coffee shop, and much more. All within walking Distance. There is a community pool, which offers Water Aerobics, Monday, Wed, Fri. Near by community center has Yoga and Line Dance on Wednesdays. Kona is a 40 min. drive South, and its 30 min's to the Airport.
