The pictures on here do not do the views justice! The home is such a great space, with an inviting living room and little quirks that make the place special. Terrel was very nice and helpful, taking time out of his day to give me a rundown on the area and things we might like to try. The house was clean upon arrival, with plenty of pots/pans & kitchen accessories. Kitchen was a little bit small, but we made it work! BBQ pit on the back porch as well as a great little sitting area, neither of which we put to use unfortunately. Great weekend getaway for young, adventurous couples!
We wanted a special, secluded weekend getaway on the lake. The other reviews are dead-on. It's an amazing home that is clean and cared for, that feels full of love and warmth. Parking on the street reveals only an address sign. As you start to go down the little path, the house comes into view. Not sure when it was built but has great lines, reminiscent of late 70's architecture. At the end of the path, a wood bridge escorts you to the front door. Then you enter a thoughtfully furnished rustic retreat. The blinds can all be opened filling the house with light. Wood tiled ceilings bring the outside in and make the space feel cozy. The balance and harmony of the house and the spaces made me wonder if the owner was some type of designer. Per the other reviews, everything was supplied - clean towels and sheets, a respectable kitchen, and a view to go crazy for. It actually rained the entire time we were there, but we were able to open up all the blinds and watch the rain replenishing the cove. It did stop long enough to sit out on the deck for a while in the evening. But with a comfortable bed and the sound of the rain falling, we had an amazing sleep. The owner was fantastic, available for questions and information, but allowing total privacy.
Will definitely have to get back - want to get in on that sunset view next time! It was only my husband and I but it would be a nice place for two or three children as well. Would definitely make a nice family getaway.
My family and I fell in love with this place. This was the first time we'd been out to Lake Travis. This is a great rustic and cozy home with panoramic views of the lake. We will definitely stay here again. Close to vineyards, great BBQ, and marinas for all kinds of fun on the lake. Krause springs close by as well. My family and I had a wonderful time. We will definitely return to this property in the near future.
This is such a wonderful little lake house with an outstanding view. The house is very welcoming and very well stocked with everything you would need and wouldn't think of. There are so many little details that I love about this place. From the dishes, the bedding, the books and games to the thought that was put into decorating with a classic country flare. The pathway through the trees was very pretty and adventurous, accented with a couple of benches and a table and chairs along the way. Perfect for sipping on a cup of tea, while reading a book enjoying the the peaceful sounds of the morning with deer frolicking through the trees. Or relaxing after a day of boating on the lake, zip lining, or cliff diving at Krause Sptings, with a gorgeous view of the sunset. The nearby town is very quaint and the scenery is beautiful with very friendly people. We had dinner at one of the restaurants called the Oasis, which is worth the wait! We will be making this a regular visit with our family and have already recommended it to family and friends.
We happened upon this property by chance on VRBO a couple of years ago and it must have been fate because we immediately fell in love with it. We have now been coming several times a year and it's no less magical each time we go.
To start, the house is, unlike a lot of homes in the area, un-McMansion like in its proportions, something that we really appreciate in this day and age of "bigger is better"--it's all you need. Not too big, not too small, just right. It's also clear that it's a place where a family has spent many happy years vacationing. It exudes warmth and coziness and is just the right amount of lived in--clean, well-appointed, and very well tended to but without that sterile feeling that comes with so many newer rental properties today. The house is also situated on what is in our minds the best piece of property in the development and has spectacular views of the lake and sunset. The deck out back gets a lot of use when we stay here and we regularly see wildlife. The living area upstairs is also full of light and the sliding glass doors make it easy to enjoy the view if it's raining, a tad too hot outside, etc.
The house has everything you'll need--we always bring groceries as it's easy to cook and prepare food there. There is a lot to do in the area if you like to adventure about (Krause Springs, Stone House Vineyard, ziplining, water sports, biking, hiking) or you can just hang out at the house and relax. The property is private without being in the middle of nowhere and it's so quiet--coming from the city, the first night we always joke that the silence is deafening.
Finally, the owners are really the icing on the cake. We count them as friends and they are lovely, warm people. Incredibly accommodating without being in your face and always available for questions or any potential issues. (Once we were there and the fan in the fridge stopped working--they stopped everything to get someone out on the weekend to fix it. Really exceptional as we certainly weren't expecting that.)
Can't recommend this property highly enough. It's such a special place in an area that is not overly developed and it's some of the most beautiful land you'll ever see. We started coming when the lake was just a trickle--it's incredible to see the water high again but it's gorgeous regardless. We'd come even if the lake ceased to exist.
