This beautiful newly constructed 1 bedroom home (with a queen bed plus a twin size day bed) is located in historic, eclectic Echo Park/Silver Lake. The unit has satellite TV with DVD player, Wireless Internet, a stereo system, and a full kitchen including eating area and outdoor bar with seating.
This guest house is located behind the main house, with a beautiful private yard. With a private garage parking spot, you have direct access to the unit plus a large private balcony and patio. This modern house is comfortable, clean and well maintained. Decorated in a modern yet cozy style, you'll feel calm and relaxed, while also being close to the action of Hollywood.
This unit is perfect for a party of two, but can sleep up to four. All linens, cooking utensils, microwave, full sized fridge, coffee maker, and more are included.
The house is located in a safe neighborhood at the top of a hill, with great views of Elysian Park hills. Walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, and boutiques. Also close to hiking, tennis, paddle boats, and Dodger stadium.
Los Feliz is very close, offering many great shopping and food options. Griffith Park and the LA Zoo are only ten minutes away by car. Wonderful concert options are also close by at the Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theatre. Studio City is a 20 minute car ride and the famous 'Hollywood and Vine' Walk of Fame is also a 15 minute drive away. Driving to Santa Monica and Venice Beach takes about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

Los Angeles is a huge city with lots of exciting things to do and see. Our neighborhood is particularly inviting because of its central location, calm neighborhood feel, and proximity to several lovely parks and lakes.
Private, secure garage parking with direct access to the unit. Weekly maid service, for daily maid service, add $25/day. Access to a shared gas grill.

As soon as I walked into this rental I knew I had found a home away from home. Spacious, elegant, with generous outdoor spaces and close to the action in both Echo Park and Silver Lake. No need to stop at the store for basic necessities before you arrive! Every last detail has been provided by the owners to make your stay a true "home away from home", including a garage to park your rental car. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay, and appreciated the very comfortable bed and the cleanliness throughout. We will look forward to staying again. Thank you!
The guest house was excellent - all the rooms are very large. And the contemporary decor is very attractive. It can easily sleep 3 or 4 people, and is very comfortable.
The neighborhood is very interesting, a mixture of Latino and hipster. Just south of Sunset Blvd.on the east side of Echo Park Avenue, is Echo Park Lake, with birds, including herons, jets of water shooting up in the air, pedal boats for rent, etc. A few blocks to the east is the Angelino Heights area (Carroll St. etc.) which has a large number of wooden homes from a century or more ago - this is a must-see if you have any interest in architecture. On Sunset, a block and a half west of Echo Park Ave. , is the Time Travel Mart, which is possibly the strangest store I have ever seen.
On Alvarado, just north of Sunset, if you like coffee, is Mi Tierra, which has fantastic coffee. And Echo Park Avenue north of Sunset has Change coffee house, and much farther up, FIX.
When I stayed here, I did not have a car and got around by walking. The rest of this review is about the walking aspects. First of all, at Mohawk, the street the house is on,
Sunset Blvd. kind of curves to the south, so it is four blocks from Sunset to the house.
Second, if you want to walk to Echo Park Ave. or to go across Alvarado, it is much easier to walk a block south to Montana than to walk across Scott, the cross street the house is on. As for longer walks, there is a book called "Secret Stairs" by Charles Fleming, that has several walks in Echo Park. (The Edendale library, which is right at Sunset and Alvarado, has it.) I recommend walks #12 and #13. Finally, if you want to go up Echo Park Ave., there is a DASH shuttle bus that runs every 20 minutes and costs 50 cents.
Finally, the #2 and #4 buses run along Sunset very frequently and go to downtown L.A.
(Or you can go the other way - west - to the super-hip Silver Lake neighborhood - the area around Hyperion has many unusual stores and restaurants.)
You can also take the bus to Tacos Guisados, at 1261 Sunset, east of Douglas - this is a taqueria, specializing in several kinds of tacos - not the typical Mexican restaurant. Try to sampler, with 7 kinds (the tinga is HOT !).
All in all, I definitely recommend this rental and plan to come back.
Spacious, clean, well appointed one bedroom "home". Loved the large bathroom and open concept kitchen/living area. There was a great outdoor area, although the "rain" (in california?!) prevented us from being able to enjoy the outdoor space. The ability to park our vehicle in the garage was a HUGE BONUS! We will definitely return!!
