Northern Michigan House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Sleeper couch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Just a few steps away, this summer rental home has access to MILES and MILES of Lake Michigan on gorgeous Grand Traverse Bay. The beach faces west to receive unparalleled sunsets! It is an ideal spot nestled in cedar trees abounding with wildlife, such as 18” high pileated woodpeckers with startling red heads and mature eagles that coast above you, besides all the obvious woodland creatures!

A lovely sand beach at the Norwood Township Park is less than an 1/8th mile down the road adjacent to 16 miles of Fisherman Island State Park. A great dead-end 3 mile long road for runners, bikers and cross-country skiers. To the South is Traverse City, 45 minutes away, furnishing you with both city and rustic activities. To the north is Charlevoix, then Petoskey, then Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula crossing the famous 5 mile long Mackinac Bridge, one of the few suspension bridges in the USA.

The Bridge itself is only 1 1/2 hours drive through lovely towns and villages on numerous lakes all having public access, quaint shops and distinctive eateries. The areas overflow with Golf courses, miniature for the kids, indoor and outdoor water parks and ski hills within a 1 hour drive!

Bring your kayaks to launch out onto crystal clear blue water for a morning tour with loons, a daytime adventure to the State Park or an evening paddle as you watch the sun go down wrapping you in a red glow! Or launch your own fishing boat at Norwood Township Park, Lake Charlevoix, or Torch Lake to catch your own dinner to grill at home! A very excellent and wide wine selection from around the world and fine dining awaits you at Esperance a mile north across the drawbridge in Charlevoix.

Enjoy the monthly folk concerts, Wednesday night jazz concerts and a myriad of activities for the whole family at the absolutely stunning Charlevoix Public Library in town!

Or simply snuggle up with a book in the cottage’s lovely sunroom and take time to wind down and release any stress you brought with you!

The home has a queen size bed, 2 twin beds and a full sleeper couch, 2 bathrooms, satellite TV, High Speed Internet, DVD/CD player and kitchen amenities. Enjoy cooking in the full kitchen or on the cottage-size gas grill outside.

Relax, enjoy or exercise to your heart’s content! You’ll feel refreshed all thanks to Mother Nature surrounding you at every turn!

Room air conditioner added on lower level!

What an enjoyable time we had at this cottage. Real quiet area. Nice walking road for us and our dog. Watched the sunset every night from the beach across the street. All the quaint little towns are easy driving distance away. Took our boat so spent a couple days on Lake Charlevoix and one day drove up to Torch Lake with the boat. Christina is great to work with and everything is super organized, from getting in, having it all clean when we arrived, to leaving and getting our deposit back in less than a week. Thanks again for letting us rent your place.

Love, Love, LOVE This Place!

  • 5 of 5

Did I mention that we love this place?! You must rent this house. Seriously. It is adorable, clean, comfy, quiet, and remote yet still in easy driving distance to all of the local towns and sights. You can take a quick walk across the quiet and rarely traveled road to the beach, or take an early morning and late evening stroll down the tree lined street to the park. Christina was so easy to work with and so nice, she is very responsive and answers any and all questions in a flash. We just got home a few days ago and we already received our refund for our deposit. WOW! We cannot wait to come back again next year!!

Comfortable house, peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay and hated to have to go home after the week was over! The location is so peaceful. If your idea of a vacation is enjoying nature, this is the house for you. It's several miles south of downtown Charlevoix. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets at the beach access behind the owner's home across the street and easy access to the southern end of Fisherman's Island State Park (walking distance). The house is located on a dirt road, which is great to run on -- much better for the joints than concrete or asphalt! We visited several neighboring towns for different activities and to check out restaurants. We only wish that we'd been able to take a sunset cruise on the lake -- unfortunately the one that still sails after Labor Day was on vacation the week we were there. Christina is very nice and a great manager.

Perfect..can't wait to go back!

This cottage provided our family with a week of fun, beauty, laughs and togetherness. We had campfires each night right at the lake while watching a starry show in the sky. We brought bikes and kayaks and found a new love in collecting ROCKS! We are already planning a trip next year.

Beautiful and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful setting and central to all of our adventuring. We spent our week biking the Little Traverse Trailway, hiking at Fisherman's island, kayaking on Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix, hanging out at the Charlevoix harbor, and just relaxing at the cabin. Christina was very helpful and the house provided the perfect setting for our Up North vacation.

Great time! Great spot!

  • 5 of 5

Quick walk to the beach at a county park. The south entrance (just a two track) to Fisherman's State Park is just beyond. Plenty of exploring in there with the dog and on the bikes!

A spot on Joe's beach for our kayaks made that easy.

The beaches are mostly rocky but fine with water shoes.

We had a couple of dinners and a breakfast in Charlevoix - all very good and fresh: walleye, whitefish, and trout!

Christina was a 10 out of 10 as property manager.
