Guestbook comments from the owner

Mountain Manor was like a warm embrace. Felt like home. The wood stove/fireplace quickly heated the entire log home. Supplied wood was a wonderful added bonus.

Views from the house were just incredible! Mule deer snacking on the bushes in the front yard, knee deep in the snow, was one my children will never forget!

Forest trails, Monarch mountain, the beautiful mountain town of Salida all short drives make this an outdoor lovers dream! An evening in Salida is a wonderful way to finish up a day on the mountain!

Pam treated us as though we were personal friends staying in their vacation home. She made sure all of our needs were met and even informed us of upcoming local entertainment and personal recommendations. We are looking forward to our next visit to Mountain Manor!

Awesome view

This was perfect for our two family group ski trip. Details and extra tips provided by owner were very thorough and helpful. Tasty drinking water and did not run out of hot water for showers/dishes for 8.

The cabin was great! Perfect for what we needed! Awesome location! Owners very helpful!

  • 5 of 5

The location was ideal for our main goal of skiing. Just minutes from Monarch slopes meant you did not have to leave super early. The owners, the Stidham's gave great information emailed when close to arrival date. They also are readily accessible to answer questions and give tips! We even found the recommended hidden water fall! We will definitely look to use their cabin again! Already talking about next year! Great place for whole family! Thanks!!!!!

The Perfect Get-A-Way For Our Needs

  • 4 of 5

We thankfully stumbled across this opportunity to get away from it all. As a first time user of this arrangement (HomeAway, etc.) we figured there would be a few issues along the way but every administrative aspect went perfect. Our hosts provided extensive information that covered every foreseeable issue, guides to local hot spots/amenities and more. Phone calls, emails and other communications were prompt and accurate. This attention to detail alone made our visit that much more enjoyable.

Read the other 4 and 5 star reviews for accurate descriptions. They pretty much say it all. Our only regret was the stay was too short - something we hope to remedy next year. This comes from someone who normally doesn't care for going "away" on vacation. You may wonder why it's not a five-star rating but those should be saved for rare occasions and are very tough to earn. Wishing I could put a 4.5 or better out there but this site won't let me.

Very minor issues - the cookware could use some updating and the cleaning service could look up at the lights on occasion. We'll gladly leave a new pan on our next visit for future tenants. Small price to pay for the best vacation we've had in a long, long time. Thanks Pam & Greg for allowing us to experience your home.

Nice cabin, needs better cleaning service!

  • 1 of 5

We stayed here in2015 and Sept. 2016. In 2015 it was excellent, clean and well cared for. This year we checked in after a long drive were ready go to bed. My son took the small bedroom. When he opened the bed, it was full of mouse droppings! The mice had chewed holes in the sheets. We dismantelled all of the beds, the rest were ok. He spent the noght on the couch. We emailed the owner a picture of the bed on Mon morning , response was good with the cleaning service coming that day. That evening we again checked the bed. It had been vacuumed but the bedding was not washed. We again sent pictures of mouse droppings under the bed, in the kitchen range, in the dish towel drawer and behind the couches. We have had NO response from the owner.

If you stay here, please check carefully and wash all the dishes before using. We will never stay again.
