We vacationed on the north shore of Kauai for many years before purchasing Villa Lauloa in 2004. We recently retired from our executive careers and moved to Princeville full time in 2012. We purchased a home near Villa Lauloa so our guests can now contact us directly during their stays if they need anything during their stay. We love the north shore of Kauai and think that you will too.
Teresa purchased this house in 2004
We looked at many homes in Princeville before buying Villa Lauloa. We loved the large spacious bedrooms, the huge kitchen and greatroom and the beautiful views. The views of the waterfalls, sunsets and rainbows are spectacular.
With 5 bedrooms and 4300 square feet there is lots of room for everyone to spread out. The location near the St. Regis hotel and the Hanalei Bay resort is the best location in Princeville. Since the owners live nearby it is like having a private concierge during your stay.
We had a wonderful visit to Kauai with my family. The house was great, very welcoming and comfortable. The kids loved the house also, especially the hot tub! The island is by far the most beautiful of the ones I've visited and I wish we could have stayed longer. So much to see and do! Highligts of our trip included our hike down to Queen's Bath and seeing my childrens' faces light up when they saw crabs, fish, and especially the sea turtles. Hanalei Bay was very nice. We loved Kauai mini-golf in Kilauea. Can't wait to come back to see the rest of the island! Thank you.
The home exceeded our expectations. The decor was gorgeous. The home was huge - there was plenty of room for two families with kids. Extremely well stocked and clean. Our favorite activities were surfing and hiking during the day and BBQing on the lanai at night. We will be back next year.
This house is spacious and perfect for large families who want to connect but have private space as well. The location is fabulous. It is close to beaches and there are walking trails all around it. The kitchen is big and modern which is great for cooking and lounging. Sitting in the hot tub in the tropical rain is also amazing! The hosts were friendly and helpful and we appreciated that very much. Our stay was in December so the temperature in the house was perfect; no heat or AC needed. We were grateful for the beach towels and snorkel equipment in the garage.
Great family house with lots of space & everything you need! 5 adults and 4 kids (4, 2.5, 2 and 1 year olds) and the house was PERFECT for the kids. Lots of space and has 2 pack 'n plays and a high chair in the house. In addition, it is a great location- close to beaches, golf course and it a very nice, quiet neighborhood. Would absolutely go back.
We spent a week at Villa Lauloa with some friends and had an absolutely fantastic time! Three families, including 5 kids ages 11 months to 7 years, and we had a ton of space to spread out. We loved that there was baby gear available so we didn't have to travel with ours. The neighborhood was really quiet and conducive to a relaxing vacation, and close enough to town and beaches that we didn't feel far away from everything.
Teresa was so responsive, even checking in with us upon arrival to see if we had any questions. It was very easy to book the home, very easy to communicate, and a superb place to stay. We are already talking about how soon we will come back and do it all over again!
This house is a perfect base for exploring the island. After touring much of the island, I was glad to come 'home' to Princeville as it is close to all of my favorite locations on the island. While you can walk to the beach from the house, it is a bit far if you have children or anything more than the basic beach gear. However, it is perfectly situated for a quick drop off of family at the Hideaways beach access, then a quick return to get a bike to pedal back to meet up again. Hideaways, by the way, is the perfect example of a tropical beach, and with so little parking it is uncrowded.
Villa Lauloa is ideal for a large family visit to Kauai. It has plenty of room for 10 people (we had 8) and the rooms are huge! The floors are bamboo which is nice on the feet and more comfortable than tile. Carpet in the bedrooms is good as well since they get much less traffic than the common areas. There are plenty of bathrooms and the 1/2 bath in the common area is convenient. Its great to have the garage and laundry for dealing with beach gear and cars. We pretty much had every last window open for the entirety of our stay which brought in the Tradewinds and kept us feeling both connected with the outdoors and comfortable. There are ceiling fans everywhere (thank you) and a few plug-in fans as needed. Lighting is great throughout the house with plenty of recessed fixtures that illuminate well. The only exception is the dining table (not sure how to fix that) and perhaps a reading/table lamp would be nice in the living room.
The kitchen is well equipped for cooking with a good assortment of pots and pans and utensils. I found myself wanting some cocktail glasses and, having been asked by the owners if I needed anything, I made the request and they were delivered. I should add that they made the delivery the same day they returned from the mainland (now that's service!). While I wouldn't say the kitchen is outfitted for a serious amateur bartender, it has the essentials (but did buy myself a souvenir shot glass to use while visiting, and made a note to bring a cocktail shaker on my next visit).
The property is beautiful with dense vegetation surrounding it. Since the living area is on the second floor the views toward Hanalei, Na Pali and the ridges and cliffs descending from Wai'ale'ale are fantastic. I found myself examining the cliffs to see which of the scores of waterfalls was flowing that day (the waterfalls follow the...
We stayed in this home for a week and it was perfect for everyone. The two teenagers had their own rooms and space while the adults had theirs! You could walk to the beach and to several interesting areas such as queens bath. It had rained a lot earlier in the day when we hiked this area and found it extremely muddy and scary. We didn't fall but a lot of other people were. I'd say to hike down because it's worth it but be careful of its rained. Staying here was wonderful for us because we wanted to surf in hanalei bay hike Na Pali coast and find the best shaved ice on the island. Two places stand out Wailua ice in Kapaa and my favorite was wishing well in hanalei. We made sure to try different stands everyday but preferred these two and returned to each a second time.
Don't miss captain andys for a catamaran trip up the coast and while everyone loved the smith family luau I found it to be pretty cheesy. The food was good and the Mai Tais were outstanding however.
Overall the house was clean, in a great location and fit our family perfectly. I would encourage the owners to buy a few more towels for the house, not beach towels but bath towels.
Overall a wonderful home that we will return too!!
