This 40 m2 (430 square feet) apartment is situated at the first French floor on a quiet courtyard. It is like a Studio-Loft that you can modulate as you want thanks to sliding doors an a rolling shutter. Very well lighted by a stained glass and three windows, friendly and airy space.
The apartment has a ideal location, in the historic and geographic center of Paris, rue Gît le Coeur, beetween the Seine Quays, Saint Germains des Près and the Latin Quarter. The access is easy and secured by a digital code door. The little building is well kept in a family atmosphere.
Cleaning is made after and before each stay and it is included in the price.
Completly renovated, it will offer you a fully equiped open plan kitchen-dinning room, an italian shower and modern washbassin, separated toilets, and all the confort you expect. From here, you can easily visit Paris and the most prestigious places by foot. If you are in Paris for work or business, you can get all transport means in Place Saint-Michel: Métro-RER-Bus-Taxis. You return in calm in the apartment which is absolutly quiet .
I am now living in south France , near Carcassonne .
Marie-Ange purchased this apartment in 1987
I was living in Paris and had a 'coup de coeur' for this apartment , and never regret ...
Living most of the year in nature , near a little town , it is an enjoyment for me to go in center Paris and see all the gallerys, shops, muséums and city life !
Great little apartment really in the center of everything. Easy access to metro, close parking garage, close to good grocery, fruit stands, and other very good stores, including great used book stores and a game store. My grandsons and I rented it for two weeks and really felt like we were living in Paris.
My wife and I loved the flat. It is spacious, well organized and in a perfect location near restaurants, transportation, shopping and museums. The descriptions on the web site are very accurate and give a good impression of what the flat is actually like. Marie-Ange is very responsive and helpful (by phone), and Emilie met us as arranged and gave us a good briefing on how the appliances worked. The washer/dryer is excellent. Emilie suggested the wash/dry program 13 which leaves the clothes a little damp. I ran the dry only program 11 and interrupted it in mid cycle by pushing the run/pause button and then holding down the on/off switch. The red "door locked" light goes off in a few seconds. The small dishwasher works well. If the dish basket won’t pull out, make sure the front wheels are not caught in the black stops. The front wheels need to be ON TOP of the stops at the bottom front of the wash chamber.
The phone is VERY useful, and the G7 English speaking taxi service is efficient and responsive. We used them several times. Internet is fast and reliable.
The flat is near Café Le Procope (where Napoleon left his hat for security for the bill) and Mariage Frères, an amazing teashop where you can have, yes, afternoon tea! The Monoprix super market is a few blocks south on Blvd Saint Michel and contrary to what Google says is open on Sunday. The food market is in the basement down the escalator at the back of the store. There are lots of kebob shops and such around the corner.
Rue L’Hirondelle (swallow street) is a quick short cut for pedestrians to Place St Michel and Chez Clement, a decent Paris chain restaurant.
The flat is on the premier etage (one floor up for yanks) and the staircase is a little tricky for people with limited mobility like my wife. But she managed without too much difficulty. Shouldn’t be a problem for anyone who can climb a flight of stairs. There is a good handrail.
Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, the Cluny Museum are all within easy walking distance. You can buy your museum pass in the souvenir shop across the Blvd Saint Michel from Ste Chapelle.
The location is very convenient to bus (our preferred mode of transportation), Metro, and RER.
Lots of storage. Plenty of guide books!
The king sized bed is great! We didn't use the futon. It would be a tight squeeze for adults, but good for kids.
A GREAT flat for a couple who want a central Paris location. We would highly recommend it to friends and family.
My girlfriend and I stayed 8 nights in Marie-Ange's apartment. I chose this VERY CENTRE PARIS APARTMENT! for the location and price. Also important - a Metro station within a short walk, the RER B to get to and from CDG airport, a kitchen to eat our breakfasts, space to move around (I couldn't imagine 8 nights in a Paris hotel room), having some comforts/amenities of home, LOTS of places to eat, drink and shop, feeling safe (with so many people around day & night there was never a worry), a quiet place to relax/sleep (the king size bed was very comfortable) and an owner who responded quickly to my enquiries / concerns. Yes there is a somewhat narrow winding staircase to climb, the floor squeaks and the hot water heater flame went out. (I was able to light myself the first time and the 2nd time Marie-Ange had to send someone over). We didn't use the stove, oven, dishwasher or washing machine/dryer. Despite these (minor to me) issues I would most definitely stay in Marie-Ange's apartment again.
This apartment was much better than expected. My husband, two children and I stayed for two weeks over Christmas. It is very close to the St. Michel metro /RER B (from CdG airport) stations. Even though the entrance for the apartment building is on a very small street, it always felt very safe, even at night. You can hear the bells from Notre Dame from the apartment and see the Seine river if you look right as you are exiting the building. We spent a lot of time walking around the little alley like streets around the apartment. Many of the monuments including Notre Dame, Ste. Chapelle and La Conciergerie were definitely within walking distance and the Louvre, Tuilleries, Musee D'Orsay, Place de la Concorde were all within walking distance if you don't mind a gorgeous stroll along the Seine. The apartment itself was clean and had everything we needed including a well supplied kitchen (for small meals). The beds were comfortable (firm) and there was lots of hot water. The only issue which wasn't an issue for us but could be for others is the small spiral staircase to the apartment. There were two older women who lived above this apartment who had to climb the stairs every day and they didn't seem to have problems but that would be an issue for someone with mobility problems. I was grateful to have a washing machine / dryer combo. available in the apartment but I had trouble getting it to work so the clothes came out completely dry. I just don't think I had the magic touch. Marie Ange was very responsive and easy to work with. Emilie was there to greet us even though we arrived 30 minutes late. I felt like they both took pride in the apartment. We loved our stay there. I would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay here again .
We've stayed in this flat twice, and we just booked it again for next year. The problem with giving positive reviews about such a wonderful place like this is that one creates one's own competition for availability! But the owner has been so forthright and hospitable and the flat is so perfect, it seemed unfair not to reciprocate her good will. This is the perfect place for any stay in Paris. The location is terrific, and its quiet yet centrally located near everything. You can catch the Metro from the airport and exit just a short walk from the flat. The features that matter most to us such as a bathroom on the same floor as the bedroom, a large walk-in shower with plenty of hot water and good water pressure, a king size bed, a very equipped kitchen with all the necessary cooking items, its first level location just one set of stairs from the street, and double-door security through a private courtyard make this a perfect find. The owner's business manner is very warm and pleasant, and she is a responsive professional landlord. We recommend her and her lovely flat with no reservations. The photographs and description of the amenities on the website are exactly what you'll find when you arrive. If you're lucky enough to find this flat available when you want to visit, you will not be disappointed.
Aprtment was comfortable and efficiently laid out. Had an extended stay and will go back in a few years. Location could not have been better. The Seine is at the end of the street, Notre Dame was 2 blocks away. Metro nearby. Liked the old world charm of the building and the convenience of washer/dryer and dishwasher. Neighborhood was busy but safe. And so many shops, restaurants, and grocery stores within walking distance!
And owner was very responsive when I had a question or two when there. She got back to me by phone of email quickly. Overall a wonderful experience in a fantastic city.
