The Perez family consists of Tom, Donna Kayleigh , Sofia and of course little Tommy. We live in Florida and try to get over to Punta Cana as a family at least twice a year to enjoy our second home, although I get over there on business at least 6 times a year by myself. I met Donna , my wife, in the United States Virgin Islands over 20 years ago and we went on our first vacation together to the Dominican Republic. Ever since then we decided that we would eventually make a second home in the Dominican Republic and there is no dreamier white sand beaches than those found in Punta Cana.
Cyntia Rodriguez purchased this villa in 2007
Having lived in Europe for many years we were very familiar with Punta Cana as a tourist haven. The beaches and climate being second to none in the Caribbean, and I travel throughout the Caribbean on business all year round, so know what I’m talking about. Our chance came in 2007 when I was in Punta Cana on a business trip and came across a dreamy Colonial style 12 villa gated community under construction, walking distance from a stunning beach. I immediately put in a reserve on the largest of the villas and had a lot of say in all the finishes and distribution of the final product ,in order to make it feel like our second home. Villas so close to the beach are hard to come by as builders prefer to build apartments on the limited space available to them. The rest is history and we have been enjoying our home away from home for the last 7 years. Although the villa has never been rented , this year we decided to put it on the rental market for a few months to families looking for privacy, independence and a stress free holiday right next to the beach.
We believe that a holiday should feel like a holiday so we decided to outfit our villa with all the mod cons, and the finest colonial style furniture so that we would be immersed in a complete dreamy setting whilst there. The villa has individual AC, ceiling fans and cable and a flat screen in every room as well as 3 terraces to enjoy the outdoor life. If you want to eat outdoors or host a party the villa also boasts a private “ palapa “ or Tiki hut terrace out in our own private garden that comfortably seats 8 people. The community has 24hr security , private parking beautiful lush gardens and a nice community pool that rarely ever has anyone in it. You can walk to the cool chill out beach club and restaurant which is a mere 200ms away on foot as well as other supermarket and shop facilities that make a car a “ nice to have “, but in no way a necessity. Come stay at our villa and you will not want to leave.
Arrived in Punta Cana for the first time in many years with the family 5 in total . Wow how the place has changed !! So many new things to do, there's even a Coco Bongos !! ( too old for that now unfortunately ). This little Villa is now very close to so many bars shops and things to do all in walking distance, The gardens were very especially nice and the villa had everything we needed. The week really went by too quick...Not looking forward going back to Michigan. Cynthia the property manager was very helpful and always a call away.... See you next year or maybe this winter...
Over all, disappointed with this property. For starters, the picture looks like the unit, but it isn't. This unit is away from the pool, not far mind you, but not as close as the picture makes it look. Secondly, there is/was a major water issue in the whole complex. The water just smelled awful! We spent a month here and had to bear it. Some Canadians who have stayed here for many years stated it was the worse they had ever experienced. The location is OK if you are here awhile, but if you come down for a week or so, its a bit of a walk to the beach, especially if you are hauling chairs, coolers, etc. On the positive side, the unit is very nice. Three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 story villa. Nice looking complex. Our property manager, Cyntia, was outstanding. We had internet problems and she resolved it promptly. All it took was a phone call and she was there! The best restaurant in town, Pastrada's is right down the street!
Me and my 5 friends stayed in this property for a week and I was satisfied overall. The pictures were accurate and we were impressed that the place had cable tv, AC in every room, modern appliances and a washing machine. The pool in the property was a great hit as well, very nice.
In terms of proximity to stuff, you have the Los Corales beach within a 10 minute walk which I think is the only decent beach within walking distance. There were local stores nearby (over priced!!) that you could buy ice cream, groceries, fruits etc. There are a lot of other touristy type stuff in PC that you could drive or taxi too. Driving should only be left to pple that have driven where there are little to no road rules - only the brave:)
The care taker was very helpful and lives nearby which helped a lot.
So all in all will reco this place to others
We were very happy all round. The place was exactly as advertised and very clean !! We have rented some places before in Punta Cana and it has not always been as clean or the place has not had everything that the ad stated it did.
We just went there for Spring Break with the kids and had a great time. It is really centrally located to shops in the Cortecito area and the Hard Rock Cafe and Palma Real Shopping plaza which is the nicest high shopping plaza around with movie theatres a cool nightclub called Jewel and a brand new modern supermarket calle " Plaza Lama " which made our shopping very easy and our stay a lot cheaper.
There were beers and rum in the fridge when we got there and apparently the owner does this for everyone ( good man )..and Cynthia the property manager lives around the corner and was on hand for any and all advice of what to do and where to go.
Anyway the rooms were large and comfortable and there was good English cable and DVD players for the kids in several rooms. The gardens are nice and the pool was almost always empty and very warm. We rented a car and were close to everything although my husband spent a lot of time on one of the 3 terraces or in the garden gazebo smoking his " Dominican Cigars ".
We were fleeing the Canadian Winter and found our paradise. The house was awesome and had everythong we needed, you can see it is owned by someone that cares. Flat screens in every room and English Cable !!! with cartoon network for the kids and all. There are even beach chairs, cooler and umbrella. We especially liked breakfast and dinner in the palapa in the garden round the back.
Nice touch to have a 6 pack of cold Presidente in the firdge waitng for us. Beautiful lush gardens , i wished we could have this back at home and the pool to keep the kids busy , i couldnt get them out of the one there that was hardly ever used as there are only 12 houses in this complex. Anyway as i said Loved it !!
The villa was clean and beautiful. It was very spacious and had everything we needed and then some, like beach chairs and a sunbrella. Cyntia was exceptional. She was very professional. When we had a small issue come up she immediately took care of it. We had friends staying at other properties in D.R. and their experiences were not nearly as good as ours. Their manager was no where to be found when problems arose and nothing was written as regards electric usage like Cyntia made sure we understood before she left. We would definitely stay here again.
