This is the perfect cottage, I have been coming here for many years. The location is secluded from traffic and is right on the lake. The evening sunsets are awesome!! The fishing is terrific and the lake is absolutely awesome.
The cottage has eminities that are equal to my own home, and is far better then any hotel.
We had a great time at this charming cottage. We had kids ranging from 12 - 16 and they had a great time too. The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner was very informative and helpful. We enjoyed the deck, gazebo, and mostly the lake!
Our family has been fortunate in vacationing at this cottage for many years -- our granchildren have grown up enjoying their vacation with us. The cottage has a beautiful setting - a gorgeous view of the lake and the islands.
The Gazebo is a wonderful addition -- we enjoyed many meals and evening conversations. The lake is wonderful for swimming and boating. We also had many encounters with the loons, watching them tutor their young. And sometimes we had the occasion of seeing other wild life.
Some highlights of the area -- Interlochen School for the Arts and Traverse City with many fine restaurants and shopping. Also, Lake Michigan is close by, with many interesting stops along the way.
We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and relatives.
This cottage is truly a remarkable place, and we always regret that our vacation has come to an end.
My husband & I treated our daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandkids to this Long Lake cottage. It was a perfect fit. I did crafts with the grandkids every morning inside the enclosed gazebo. They loved it! The deck area is close to the water making it easy to keep an eye on the little ones.
The Bob Sked water board was an added perk for my 7 year old grandson. He had a blast water boarding behind our pontoon boat. The other grand kids enjoyed the Little Tyke water slide at water's edge.
Plenty of room in the cottage and the extra half bath was a plus (as was the washer & dryer). We plan to make this an annual trip and this will be our cottage of choice. Very nice, clean, and well maintained. Dock was perfect for mooring our pontoon boat and the boat launch wasn't more than a 1/2 mile down the road.
Loved it! Cozy and clean and exactly as I had hoped. Located down a private road (no traffic) and 30 feet from the waters edge. The owner was very proactive in contacting us for questions, needs, etc. The also recommended a boat rental that provided excellent service whose rates were better than in town rentals. Highly recommended!!
This cottage is perfect for a family vacation - we had a wonderful time!
The cottage exceeded expectations - the view from the dock is just beautiful. We spent every day either in the canoe, row boat or pedal boat. We caught walleye off the raft and watched the loons everyday. We did have some pretty cold and rainy weather for June and took full advantage of the cottage's fireplace and the outdoor screened in sitting/eating area. We also enjoyed several nights roasting marshmallows in the fire pit.
The cottage is clean, cozy and very comfortable. I highly recommend this property to family and friends and hope to be back again soon.
Only 10 miles from downtown Traverse City, 7 miles from Interlochen campus. Sleeping Bear sand dunes are 45 minutes away. If you don't want to leave your home-away-from-home just sit on the deck and enjoy the sunrise over four islands right on Long Lake. The sunset reflection is awesome. A trip up the Mission Peninsula on Thursday night gives you a free jazz concert with Jeff Haas at the Chateau Chantel. You'll want to return again and again.
