Come stay in our newly renovated 1890's train station in the heart of the bluegrass.
We are on a working thoroughbred horse farm right off Paris Pike, one of the most scenic areas in all of Central Kentucky. Drive by Gainsway and Elemendorf farms on the way to Claiborne farm. 15 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park, Fasig Tipton, close to Keeneland and the Lexington area attractions.
Hutchison Station was part of the L&N railroad system between 1890-1950, it still has the original hardwood floors, 12' ceilings and much of the original molding. In its heyday it included a post office, livestock loading platform, general store and blacksmith's shop. You can read more about the station house in 'Ghost Railroads of Kentucky'. Many of the original families still live in the area.
Area activities include a 9 hole golf course within walking distance, and a short drive to many 18 hole courses, horse farm tours, historicl sites including Shakertown, Mary Todd Lincoln House, Henry Clay Estate, Civil War battlefields and much more.
We have easy access to I75 & I64 and are located 1/2 way between Lexington and Paris.

Lisa and I run a Thoroughbred horse farm where the Station House is located. We live on the farm, Lisa since she was 5 years old. Farm duties involve the breeding and raising of thoroughbred horses. Lisa and her father raised and raced their own horses off this farm.
This property has been part of the family farm since the 60's.
Wake up and have breakfast while looking at a field full of horses. Historic accommodations in a peaceful atmosphere. Walk to a 9 hole golf course.

We arrived at this quaint setting in the middle of horse country to fresh cut flowers on the table along with fresh baked cookies. Our two bedroom two bath accommodations were pristine and came equipped with all the conveniences of home (including coffee filters often not found in other VRBO's). We all questioned how each other as to how new we thought this little charmer was, all assumed less than a year. The owners Steve and Lisa indicated this was the fifth year of operation for the unit. Steve and Lisa made us feel quite at home as did the two dusty burrows out back. One of Lisa's Jack Russell's was a little unsure of our intrusion into its domaine but was quickly calmed as Lisa covered its face with a comforting hand; too cute. On Lisa's recommendation we had a wonderful meal at Clay's Restaurant in downtown Paris. When we return to horse country this will be the only place we will consider staying at. We hope to establish a lasting relationship with the Parkes, the two dusty burrows and the beautiful thoroughbreds in the pastures near by. You will not regret staying with these salt-of-the-earth people.
The renovated train station was immaculate with a 2 very nice big bedrooms. Nice kitchen and living room and 2 nice size bathrooms. The setting is amazing. We sat outside having drinks and watching the horses one evening before sunset. It was very quiet and cozy as well. Steve was a great host and we would go back in a heartbeat. It was a great location for us to stay while exploring bourbon country and the kentucky horse park as well as traveling to louisville to Churchhill downs cant wait to go back when Keeneland is open it would be very handy for going to the races there.
One of the best vacations I have ever had thanks to this beautiful place. The apartment was beautifully decorated and the views of the farm and horses were awesome. The location was wonderful for touring horse country and doing some bourbon tasting. You can not go wrong staying here!!!!!
I cannot say enough great things about this place. It truly was heavenly. Coming from a major metropolitan city....I was in much need of the country life. And boy oh boy did I get it! I love the location of this property. I love the look of this property. The owners out did themselves with renovating it. GORGEOUS! The towels were even to die for! Just all the way around superb! I WILL be renting this place again.
*Note to Owner: I would have LOVED if you all had a few bicycles for guests to use. That'd be a nice touch. I would have loved to take a bike ride on an early morning or at sunset.
*Note to guests: DO NOT miss the sunsets!!!! I've experienced a lot of neat places and sunsets....and this one is right up there at the top of my list. Just sit in the Adirondack chairs in the yard and enjoy :-)
We (2 couples) spent three nights in this lovely apartment. The finishes and cleanliness are exceptional. Beds & showers are quite good. You can tell that renovating the old station was a labor of love. The location is great. Just 15 minutes from downtown Lexington but surrounded by bucolic scenery. Quiet and serene. 25 minutes to Keeneland. We enjoyed wandering the property and watching/petting the horses, colts, donkeys and barn cat. We enjoyed just driving around on the nearby backroads (photo ops at every turn) as well as a couple meals at the hugely popular Windy Corner. We also enjoyed their sister restaurant, Wallace Station. Perico's Mexican restaurant was also a really nice surprise - some of the best Mexican food we'd had in awhile and just minutes down the road. In the city, we enjoyed bourbon flights at Bluegrass Tavern. We spent a day at Keeneland and another day visiting bourbon distilleries. Would have loved to have had 2-3 more days to really explore the area. We kicked ourselves for not planning far enough ahead to get a tour of Clairborne Farm. The station is definitely one of the top VRBO/Airbnb places we have ever stayed at; and we've tried a bunch both in the USA and Europe. Next time we are back in Lexington, we will definitely stay here again.
