This villa, reminiscent of the traditional Mexican haciendas, is built on a 10 acre compound. In addition to its six bedrooms spread out through four floors, the house has inviting living, dining and recreation areas, as well as a beautiful outdoor patio, with dining for 12 or more persons. In addition to mountain views, the villa is conveniently located to Tepoztlan (five minutes), Cuernavaca (20 minutes) and Mexico City (60 minutes).
The area's craggy mountains and jagged cliffs are as spectacular as those in Sedona, Arizona, but Tepoztlan, at a higher altitude and significantly greener, boasts moderate weather throughout the year. It is officially recognized as one of Mexico's magical areas. Master yoga instructors abound in the area.
Outdoor activities are splendid, including swimming, bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing and golfing at nearby courses. Major archaeological sites are close by.
Relax and pamper yourself in this spacious and comfortable home.
Nearby Tepoztlan, with cobblestone streets and the glow of a traditional Mexican town, is one of a handful of Mexican localities officially recognized as a Pueblo Magico (Magical Town). It features a traditional Mexican market. Fine traditional and nouveau Mexican fare is available at local restaurants. A former convent converted to a museum offers a unique glimpse of the colonial past. Cuernavaca, the city of eternal Spring, has world-class restaurants waiting to serve you in elegance either indoors or al fresco. In addition to Cuernavaca, Tepoztlan and Mexico City, other areas of historic importance within a two-hour drive from Villa San Clementito, include Taxco, Xochicalco, Malinalco and Puebla.

I came to Mexico in 1976, intending to be here for two years, and I am still here. I have managed the first relocation company in Mexico for all this time, helping executives move their families to this wonderful country. We have used that same experience to provide a unique hospitality in Tepoztlan.
What could be more relaxing than waking up as the sun comes over these magical Tepoztlan mountains? From the first visit out here, as guests of the original adventuresome owner, Clemente M. Jacques, we knew it was where we wanted to visit often. When one day in 1987 he came to our home in Mexico City and said he wanted to sell and he wanted to sell to us, well, it took about 10 minutes of discussion to say 'yes!'
We have chosen Hacienda San Clemente Jacques as our winter getaway at least 5 or 6 times not because it is in a perfect climate zone, which it is, but because it is just so darn beautiful and we love staying there and catching up with Pattie, Jorge and staff. The location, minutes from town, is so peaceful with a view of the mountains to the left and valley directly below...spectacular. Morning coffee and bird watching from the terrace, daily tennis (and butterfly spotting) then a refreshing swim became our routine. Our friend's daughter was married at SCJ in the private chapel on the property. The hacienda housed the immediate family and guests found accomodations throughout Tepoztlan and the area. Even though the house was full there was still oodles of room to get lost in. At night, overlooking the twinkling lights of the town below the patio was a wonderfully intimate outdoor dining and dancing venue strung with fairy lights.
A ground level bedroom suite opens onto the large patio for those who have difficulty with stairs. Choosing one of the bedrooms on the upper floors is difficult as they all have amazing views and tasteful decors. But what really makes San Clemente Jacques unique is the choice you have of being TOTALLY catered to or being left to your own devices. Everything from meals to shopping can be taken care of expertly by Felipe, Theresa, Francisco and Ladiana or you can practice your Spanish and shopping skills to your hearts content in the town market, one of our favourite things to do. Pattie is so conscientious about making sure you have everything you need from solving tech issues to getting you hooked up with an excellent accupuncturist or yoga instructor. Felipe takes care of the grounds and his creative touches are evident throughout, take his walking path in and around the entire property will keep you in shape. Nothing has been forgotten in the effort to make your stay memorable.
In all the times we have been to Tepoztlan and SCJ there has never been a moment when we felt unsafe or threatened on any way. We so look forward to our next stay at the hacienda.

What a brilliant time we had at both the
Haciendas...basically we had the wedding (and
week) of our dreams...it was PERFECT! Honestly, our
guests (from Australia & UK) were speechless and
have had the most incredible & memorable
experience. The swimming pools, tennis court and
hammocks were always in use and the food and
service of the staff was brillaint. The owner, Pattie
Hogan is ...The hostess with the most ..tesst and
very helpful!!! I hope everyone gets to experience
this magical, Mexican paradise in Tepoztlan.
This is clearly a loved and tended home. All the furnishings and art reveal the innkeeper's taste and discernment. The grounds are beautifully planted and well kept. The vistas from various spots are riveting. If walls could speak! You get the sense there is a rich history within. The pleasant staff members are well trained and accommodating. We are still recalling the fabulous meals months later.
This is a one-of-a-kind property, the owner is extremely responsive to guest needs and the staff is first rate in every dimension. There is so much to do and see on the property and it has a storied history as well. A truly incredible place to stay.
We have returned to Hacienda Clemente Jacques many many times over the years, and each visit is better than the last. As a weekend away from hectic Mexico City or a monthlong creative retreat, HCJ is hard to beat: well-kept, excellent service, good food, swimming, hiking, tennis, margaritas, and above all absolute peace and quiet. We keep going back. Sometimes just with the kids, othertimes with as many as 14 friends. Attentive owner and staff. Enjoy!!!
This was my third winter escape to Hacienda Clemente Jacques and it only gets better and better. The place is spectacular; the accomodations deliciously comfortable, elegant and homey all at the same time. Felipe, Josephina, Laydiana, Francisco and the rest of the staff are incredibly charming, efficient, and truly caring, and they have come to feel like part of my extended family.
This year my friends Jane and Ken came from New Zealand to celebrate their wedding in the chapel, and it was a spectacularly beautiful and joyous event. I cannot thank Pattie and the whole staff for the time, imagination and enthusiam they contributed to planning and sourcing the event, decorating the chapel, house, patios and gardens, and then helping prepare and serve the wedding dinner. It was truly unforgettable, in large part due to their generous contributions.
I'm looking forward to visiting Hacienda Clemente Jacques again next winter and can't wait to relax into the beauty, comfort, comradarie, and care that have made it feel like a second home to me--and to my many friends who have visited in the past and insist on returning with me.
It is truly Paradise, made perfect.
What a spectacular experience ! Ken and I -invited by dear US friends Claire and Caroline to join them there- decided to not only holiday at Hazienda Clementes Jacques but also to have our wedding there !. It was the most memorable perfect occasion we could have wished for !! We loved the build up week, exploring the district and pottering around the hothouses for flowers and the many other details we attended to, slowly but surely. We were so well looked after by Patti's team Felippe and his crew, they were terrific. They were fantastic just looking after us on a normal daily basis but for the wedding they were terrific. They did so many thing for us.... from designing and making up the floral arrangements, to hunting out new geraniums to plant in the garden, to painting the chapel.. . They were spectacular ... the little chapel was just what we wished for, the gardens looked beautiful, Father Gregory led a moving ceremony and Patti provided every contact for us, including her friend and chef extraordinaire Janet who also did the most beautiful table setting plus produced an exquisite wedding banquet. She introduced us to a fabulous photographer and a wonderful Mariarchi band. We were surrounded by loving and caring people who gave their all to help our little celebration. I must say Patti is an extraordinary host and quickly became a good friend. The hazienda is lovely, great views, very well equipped with all amenities, a swimming pool and tennis court. I love the old and rustic but grand feeling about it. A special peacefulness about it. Actually the place is fabulous for a simple group or family holiday, or a special occasion. Totally recommend it...
We are located approximately 1.5 hours from the Mexico City airport, 20 minutes from the East side of Cuernavaca. We are 5 km (2 miles) from the center square of Tepoztlan, and less than 1 mile from the church in Amatlan. We are 8 km from Gallaecia & just a block before Hostal de la Luz. We have tranquility, privacy and peaceful mountain & valley views not found in town.
