This house has been a family home since the 1960's. It is now available for vacation rentals. It was probably built in the late 30's early 40's. All new windows and newly painted inside and out. The kitchen, laundry room and bathroom have been just remodeled. The owners live in the neighborhood.
Sheri purchased this farmhouse in 1960
Enjoy the comfort of being in a home atmosphere, in a real neighborhood, close to all the fun activities that 'country life' affords.
We had a great time. The house is well appointed and well maintained. Although there is some road noise, we found the location to be relaxing and mostly quiet. Very close to both Sonoma and Napa Valley. We will definitely stay here for our next wine country trip.
A group of friend and I stayed at the Spring Canyon ranch property to celebrate a friend moving from the Bay Area as well as my wife doing the Vineman Ironman competition. The house is amazing. Everyone when they arrived commented how "cute" the house was. We also noticed how remarkably clean the house was as well. It was above and beyond what we would have expected.
The owners are also great. They left us a bottle of wine and nice welcome note when we arrived. The patios and grill make of a nice dining experience and a great place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. In terms of location it is perfectly located on Chalk Hill Road near HWY 128 which makes it great for wine tasting. In fact a vineyard is less than .25 miles away. In regards to future Vineman competitors, the house is located on the bike course making it a great spot for people to cheer on their friends.
My friends and I will definitely return to this house soon. Thanks again!
We came to Sonoma for a family wedding and could not have asked for a more homey environment. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and the living area was big, especially the outdoor areas. The owners thought of everything you could need from fully stocked kitchen to bottled water. The only negative for our stay was the fact that it was the hottest weekend of the year and there is no A/C at the house. The tree cover and fans did help a lot. We would definitely go back there, at a different time of year.
The house was great! Very clean and comfortable. Loved the outside yards and patios. The beds were very comfortable and I wanted to just move in and stay. Would definitely come back.
Very sweet owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. The house was fully equipped with everything you could ever want or need. During our stay we needed (and found!) bathroom amenities, hair dryer, playing cards, coffee pot (multiple), blender, spices, butter, fresh ice, note pad, wifi, ice packs, blankets, videos/dvds and more. Beautiful gardens surround the house. Our late night arrival was welcomed by a clean, warm, inviting home with lights on and music playing. If you'll be visiting wineries in Napa and Sonoma county this house is ideally located.
For an authentic Sonoma experience, you can't beat this place. The beds, kitchen, laundry facilities, pretty views out each window, were all fantastic. Make sure to plan for an evening barbeque on the patio by the redwoods and roses. Horse-riding theme to go with the ranch ties it all together. House was spotless clean, and all in good working order, yet charming.
If you get a chance, talk with Earl, "Early Bird", across the street. He makes and sells bird houses, and he and his wife grow vegetables for area restaurants. He's been there since 1970 and can tell you about the house you're staying in and other local history.
The house has wifi, just careful not to download huge files and movies. We were not able to use Uber or Lyft as we had planned; drivers not so available in that area. But its close enough to various destinations that it was not a problem.
We love it and plan to return.
