About Kami Smith

Hi! We're the Smiths and we welcome you to stay with us in beautiful Chico, at my childhood dream house. We moved to Chico from Napa, CA to live in this beautiful historic Chico home which was once owned by a local senator. I grew up in this wonderful town and moved back in 2007 because Chico is the kind of town that always pulls you back to it. It's a great place that provides beautiful seasons, has amazing people that make up a fabulous community and town vibe that is always vibrant and alive.

What makes this studio unique

One of the main reasons why we love this property is because of it's size and location. The home & guest house sit on 1.7 acres and is very private. We have beautiful Bidwell park right across the street which provides a wealth of activities for our family and we are close to downtown and shopping. We love riding our bikes to the downtown farmers markets and virtually anywhere around town. It's been a blessing to live here.

Historical Guest House

  • 4 of 5

Very old guest house over a garage. Beautiful property with Bidwell Park directly across the street. Excellent access to the freeways and downtown Chico. The rose garden is beautiful. The only downside was quite a few critters in the house, but I understand based on the location this comes with the territory.

Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

My overall stay was very relaxing. The place was very clean and well-maintained. Everything about this place was super cute, and so cozy. I love how the room captured so much light that it made me feel so warm and relaxed. One of the best thing about it also, was that it was right across the street from Bidwell Park.

Comfy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We want to thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage. We found it quite comfortable and functional for our two night stay in January, and it was reasonably priced. So convenient to old downtown Chico and the Saturday farmers market, as well as the creek and trails. We would be happy to return. Thanks again!

Everything I wanted and more!

  • 5 of 5

This guest house is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing get away to Chico. The guest house has all the amenities you could ask in a quaint, comfy little package. I felt at peace while staying there and Kami was very accommodating. She is very nice and has perfected the balance between providing privacy and providing help. I really hope to be back again and I will absolutely make it a priority to stay here if I do visit again.

Relaxing 3 night stay at "Johnson House"

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this historic home. Local's refer to it as "Johnson House". The owner, Kami was great to work with and provided great service. Her studio is in a perfect location, very close to swimming at 1 mile in Bidwell park. We enjoyed the Saturday Farmers market which is probably the best market I have been to in California. I would recommend this property, and a visit to Chico, which is a great town. This studio is perfect for a couple, bed was very comfortable and we were grateful for the air-conditioning, as Chico can get hot in the summer. Had a nice breakfast at Morning Thunder Cafe which is close by. We will be back.
