Great place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have stayed here a few times and it is just perfect for 2. Cozy, quiet with all the amenities one could want for a weekend away. The view is what you would want to wake up to every morning and it was clear and sunny on our most recent trip so the sunset was spectacular. The accommodations are always spotless clean and enjoyable. Tiny little kitchenette for snacks, and we went into town for our meals which is about a 20 min drive. The nice part about that is that this little getaway spot stays quiet, being just far enough from town.

Perfect little nest for me!

  • 5 of 5

The Crow's Nest was the perfect little nest for me to stay in on Orcas over the Christmas weekend. I was on-island to share the holiday with friends/family, but wanted a separate place to stay. The Crow's Nest was cozy, warm, clean, comfortable, and welcoming! It's a great place for one or two people. The bed was comfortable, the TV was easy to operate and offered channels i enjoy. I appreciated that the owners provided shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, hair dryer, hand soap, and (of course) towels and washcloths. I loved waking up to the crow's nest view of the peaceful marina! If you're staying here, pay attention to the description and plan ahead for your meals - cooking is very limited. But there's a microwave, mini fridge, and a Keurig machine for coffee/tea/hot chocolate. The island offers many places for dining out, as well as a couple grocery stores for supplies. I'll definitely stay at the Crow's Nest again! :-)

Quaint, clean with beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for my romantic getaway with myself!! Very clean, super comfy bed, many extras (coffee, kitchen utensils, shower amenities). It was chilly on island tho with the gas stove, it was super cozy. Owner was very quick to respond when the pipes froze up. A very pleasant stay and I would book here again. Thank you!!

A comfortable hideaway.

  • 3 of 5

Crows Nest is a very clean, comfortable hideaway in Westsound, a short drive from the Orcas ferry. We found it reasonably well equipped for our needs, though a bit short on counter space. There is no oven, but there is a cooktop, small refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffer maker. (My wife and I tend to drink large quantities of coffee each morning, so found the Keurig a bit frustrating.) Parking in the small lot available to guests can be a bit tricky, even with a compact car.

Be aware that there is but one restaurant in Westsound and it closes for the winter. A pop-up restaurant is currently operating out of that space, offering dinners from Wednesday through Saturday during our recent stay. Eastsound, perhaps ten minute drive away, has numerous eateries. Of those we tried, we would recommend Mijita's and Rose's Bakery and Cafe. Be very careful while driving between Westsound and Eastsound, particularly in the early morning and after sunset. There are many small black tail deer on the island and they are often found along this road.

If you are looking for a quiet, somewhat isolated place for one or two from which you can access the island's many attractions, Crows Nest may suit you.

Perfection on West Sound - Orcas Island

  • 5 of 5

The Crows Nest feels like a nest - a sweet room with everything you need no matter what your agenda is. I attended a business meeting on the island and this location was near everything - away from the downtown but within 15 minutes by car. The biggest problem was leaving the room. With a private patio on the sound and direct sunshine, to the end of day watching the sunset with a gas fireplace to warm the nest, why leave? A great place to take a couple of books and veg out. The owners were close by and so accommodating yet have privacy standards that I appreciated. A full blown restaurant and bar is around the corner so why leave West Sound? I will definitely be back - winter or any other season - this little gem is the best.
