This space was absolutely perfect. The quirky decorations fit our trip amazingly well-- my sister was getting married at The Shambles (2nd and Lombard) and so location was the main driver for our stay. We got ready at the apartment and traipsed down South Street in our wedding finery. (I'll send Anna photos of the wedding dress in her space, the photographer loved it).
It is a little loud-- you can hear the shop below and the street, but for our trip that didn't matter. It was still a restful place between dinners and errands and spacious enough that my boyfriend had space to himself as the ladies got ready downstairs. The breakfast nook is cozy and the art work everywhere is way better than most rentals, though the Predator statue did snag the tulle of my dress at one point :P My brother had no complaints about the couch downstairs and the bed was super comfortable upstairs.
Anna's assistant Kate met us a little early and showed us around-- everyone was really so so nice. The folks in the shop downstairs were friendly as well. If South Street intimidates you, probably not the best place, but if you used to go to shows in high school and love the atmosphere of South Street but want a place to escape to, it's perfect.
Thanks Anna and Kate!
We really enjoyed our stay in Philadelphia in Anna's condo. Kate waited to meet us when we arrived and we got in at almost midnight, thank you Kate! In terms of the area, if you want to be located where you can walk to most places of interest, where the area is alive at night and where you can get anything to eat, this is the condo for you. In terms of the condo, it was very clean and had everything you need for a short visit. We did find the lighting a little dark (caution to men having to shave; my husband cut himself twice!) but maybe we just didn't figure out all the light switches....there are quite a few! I would definitely recommend Anna's condo....so much better than a hotel!
I stayed here for a conference in town. I had absolutely everything I needed! It was beautifully furnished and the amenities were amazing. Relaxing in the jetted tub was the perfect end to the day. I think my favorite part was the bed! It was amazingly comfortable and with the bedroom being on the 3rd floor, you heard no noise from the tattoo studio below and minimal street noise. I hope to stay here again soon!!
I was fortunate to find this condo last year, which far surpassed any expectations I had. This year I stayed for an additional 3 days, knowing how at home I had felt.
Upon arriving Kate explained all appliances, tv & fan clickers, etc, making the settling in process so easy As she left Kate said "call me anytime, day or night, if you have any problems". She actually meant that
Philly is a walking town, so car isn't necessary. Bus and Uber is all you need, unless you venture out into the suburbs Restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, are all located in the neighborhood
I was lucky enough to see Anna, the owner - as well as her hubby. Both are delightful and very helpful. It's more like staying at the home of a friend than a rental property
Next year I'll definitely stay again -- wonder if I could eek out a few more days and make it a full 2 weeks Hmmmmm
Do yourself a favor -- stay here!!!
Only exception is if you have issues climbing steep stairs. The charm of stairs in this 150+year old building could be the only drawback
Beautiful place- big enough for our family with 2 small kids- they have a pack-n-play and a pull-out ottoman for the littles. Great location that was super walkable. with a nice convenience market below for eggs, drinks, etc...
