Overall a good experience at 790 Queen's Grant Marion's Place. The furniture, including the bed, was very comfortable and clean. I like Queen's Grant because of the convenience to the beach, store and lagoon launch. Our kayaks fit perfectly for storage in the deck are which was very private. the only downers were that we only had two wash clothes for the five days we were there. We spent a lot of tie on the deck so it needed to be cleaned as it was covered in pine cones and pine needles and needs some repairs because of tree roots. Overall, easy to rent, easy to find, and I would recommend staying here.
We rented this unit last weekend, sent an email to the company 24 hours after arriving, and still have not heard from them. This was not the original unit we wanted, they "rented" that out from under us do to a miscommunication on their part. The negative experience began when we arrived & were told that our code "might not work to let us in our unit as another renter couldn't get it their's & were going to try ours, but didn't want to enter our place". Luckily we got in. The unit was "cleaned", but my husband's white socks were brown in about an hour. There was dust & "stuff" under the sofa and other furniture, to a point where we felt we had to vacuum. The kitchen has old appliances, the ice maker didn't work, didn't have filtered water, very little to cook or even eat with (i.e. didn't even have measuring cups), and a coffee maker that was old and needed specific filters that we had to go buy. Even the salt & pepper shaker were empty. The TV in the main room was old, not HD, so half of people's heads were cut off. And, a kicker is there is not another working TV in the place! There is a TV in the master bedroom, but it isn't hooked up to anything. To add insult to injury, in the armoir in the 2nd bedroom is a computer monitor! Really?!? The back porch area, which looks lovely on the photos, was covered with pine straw and pine cones, as if it hadn't been blown off all winter, rendering it useless. There is a huge window in the master bedroom with a broken blind over it that sits about 6 inches off the wall, clearly someone could see right in. We had to put a towel over it for privacy. Speaking of privacy, the master bathroom practically sits in the middle of the master bath with only a pocket door to close it off. I have never seen this in a Queen's Grant unit and have rented in her multiple times. There was not an extra blanket or any extra pillows in the unit, either. All in all, this felt like an after thought that had not been checked on in years.
I have been renting on HHI for 25 years, and have NEVER written a bad review for any unit I have stayed in. The biggest insult is that the management company has YET to contact us. I have given them a week, and am now trying to help anyone else from experiencing this frustration.
We enjoyed our stay and the condo is very comfortable and large. However, like a previous renter, the deck area was a mess! Trash, grilling utensils and meat packaging all still on the deck when we arrived. The WiFi never worked, even though we tried the 'tricks' suggested. Ice maker did not work properly. Small things, but they add up to annoyances. Was a great size for four, however.
My family enjoyed our stay. Neat, clean all the amenities and comforts of home. Games, movies, books magazines. My parents loved the deck. I rent here again
Not far distance from sights, attractions
Having used VRBO several times (and never really dissatisfied but sometimes not impressed) we would recommend this unit highly.
Well maintained, nice location, nice furniture, well appointed.
We were quite pleased with the whole experience.
We just returned from our stay at Queens Grant 790. The condo is cute and clean. We were impressed with the toiletries, cleaning supplies, kitchen appliances etc. that were supplied for us. Paper towels, toilet paper, towels, cleaning supplies, detergent, dish soap etc were all supplied! We had plenty of room although it was a bit smaller than the pictures show (barely room for a pack and play in the master). There is a pond central to all of the condos with lots of wildlife- the little ones loved that. The pool was nice and close by- it would be good for the owners to put a map of the property in the condo as we spent the first two days figuring out our way around. There are beach buggies available to take you anywhere in Palmetto Dunes or Shelter Cove but be prepared for a wait! We had to wait an hour in the sun with fussy babies once for the buggy because they picked up a group of teenagers instead of us and marked us off of their list. This service is complimentary though and you can always drive.
The patio area is fenced in, nice grill that we initially had trouble with starting. Luckily my husband figured it out as the maintenance folks were not overly helpful when we called. Only big complaint is that the cleaning folks use straight pins to attach the bed skirts to the beds. We had little ones with us and two people stepped on pins during our stay. We finally figured out the pins on the floor were coming from the beds and removed all of them that we could find. The cleaning people do not clean the patio area either and it was a mess from branches and pine needles falling from the trees. No big deal but worth mentioning.
Would we stay again? Yes! My concern was being so far from the beach (NOT a walk when with kids or toting beach stuff!! Maybe a bike ride, but we did not have bikes) but with a car ride or buggy ride, no big deal. The beach access area at Dunes Beach is nice, the Dunes house has a bar/refreshment area open daily as long as they don't have weddings or special events that day. Public restrooms and changing rooms/sand showers are available too which was great for us with kids! We saw lots of sand dollars, starfish, and horseshoe crabs during our visit. Ducks, turtles, an alligator, cranes and blue herons were in the pond and made for a nice walk. It was nice to have more space than a hotel room for less than half the price of the beach from resorts right down the road. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!
