Welcome to Kailua, one of the most beautiful places on Earth!
We are located in the quaint beach town of Kailua on the windward side of Oahu. We are a 25 minute drive from Honolulu and the airport. Kailua beach, is a breathtaking 2 1/2 mile stretch of white sand and turquoise water. From our place you can walk to the beach in 15 minutes(less than 1 mile). At the beach, you have the option to rent surfboards, kayaks, wind surf boards, and stand up paddle boards.
You can also walk into Kailua town in 15 minutes where you can grab a bite to eat, enjoy a cup of coffee, or check out the local shops. For the early risers, watching the sunrise over the Mokulua Islands is a must, completed with the sun setting behind the majestic Koolau mountains. Kailua is the perfect place for those who enjoy activity, and those who love to lounge on the beach and bask in the sun.
Our large studio has its own private entrance. There is street parking out front that is always available. The entrance to the cottage is a wood chip lined path that is a bit narrow. If you are elderly or use an assistive device for walking, this may not be suitable for you. Although the trade winds provide a nice gentle breeze, there is also a ceiling fan and AC to ensure a comfortable temperature. There is a fully stocked kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, hot plate, and coffee pot. We have a newly remodeled bathroom with granite counter top and a larger tiled shower. For those of you who prefer to stay in and cook, there is an outdoor dining area where you can enjoy the warm air and trade wind breeze.
We also provide masks, snorkels, and beach chairs. For your travel convenience we have shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, and lotion available. The studio is very spacious, has a king size bed, cable TV, wireless internet, a gas BBQ, iron and it's own washer/dryer. A basket of local coffee and chocolates will be waiting for you upon your arrival. It is a perfect place for those visiting Oahu!
NO SMOKERS please. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are smoking anywhere on the property.
**As a courtesy, we do want to let you know that we have 2 children ages 3 and 6. Our 6 year old goes to school everyday and our 3 year old is either home or with the nanny. While, they are good kids, and we try to keep noise down mostly in the early morning, they are kids and therefore tend to make kid noises. If you are not fond of children, this may not be the place for you.

My husband and I have lived in Hawaii for 15 years now. We love the Hawaiian culture, the tropical weather, and the outdoor life style. We enjoy meeting new people from all over the world. We have 2 children ages 3 and 6. Our 6 year old goes to school everyday and our 3 year old is in and out a lot during the week. While they are good kids, and we try to keep noise down mostly in the early morning, they are kids, and therefore tend to make kid noises. If you are not fond of children, this may not be the place for you.
Lisa purchased this studio in 2008
We have always grown up vacationing to Hawaii and are happy to have finally made Kailua our place of residence. We have the vacation rental available for our parents when they come to visit and rent it out when they aren't here. Kailua is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world and I hope that one day everybody has a chance to experience Kailua.
The cottage's proximity to Kailua town, the beach, restaurants, and shops. The cool breeze of the trade winds, the topical weather, and the comfortable feeling you get while staying in the cottage.
We rented this delightful cottage for 2 weeks in December for our daughter's wedding. The bed is very comfortable, the air conditioner was perfect during the hot days and the kitchen was spacious. The full size refrigerator had plenty of room and the freezer had plenty of ice! Though it sits on a busy street we never heard cars at night. The location was great for Kailua. We had privacy and never heard much from the owner's family even though we stayed through the Christmas holiday. I would definitely stay here again!!!!
This beautiful cottage was more than I could have hoped for! It was large, clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable! The location was great, close to Kailua town and the beach (which I went to daily :). The owners were so sweet and welcoming!! I will certainly stay here again when I come back to Kailua! Thank you for a welcoming and memorable stay :)
I booked this studio for a month in Kailua for my first trip to Oahu. My mother stayed with me the first two weeks and we felt very much at home here. It's an adorable studio with plenty of room inside, a large comfy bed, little kitchen with all the essentials, a nice bathroom, lots of privacy, TV, washer and dryer and other amenities. It's located close to plenty of shops and little restaurants for anything you need. The beach is about a 15 minute walk form the studio and it's a beautiful walk in the morning to see the sunrise. My overall experience here was wonderful!!! Not only was the studio great but the family was very helpful and kind. I was having some health problems while on vacation and they went above and beyond to help me. I am grateful to have been able to stay here! I would highly recommend this studio to any of my friends or family. I felt the price was great for such a nice, clean, private, studio. Leaving me with money to spend on exploring the island.
The house is very easy to find as it is located on a main street and had parking right out front. Like the other reviews mention, the side door entrance has a tight walkway due to the washer + dryer and some plumbing, but realistically, it will only be an inconvenience on arrival and departure when squeezing all suitcases through. I was grateful to be able to do laundry and come back home with no pile of dirty laundry to worry about!!! There is a spacious closet filled with hangers, an iron, beach towels, and other things for the beach. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare breakfast before heading out for the day. There is a wall AC, fan tower, and ceiling fan that cooled the room down within minutes. Since the house does face a somewhat busy street, we closed all the windows that faced that way on the first day and between that and the AC+ fans, the noise never bothered us. We noticed that you can also hear the children that live in the house through the studio’s bathroom window. We only heard them while getting ready in the bathroom and could not hear them through the rest of the studio. I didn’t mind it at all and thought the kid’s conversations were funny/cute. Overall, this room had MORE than what was necessary for our stay and was conveniently located on my favorite side of the island with only a 5 min drive to my favorite beach.
I am late at writing this review from over a year ago, but it's the right thing to do considering the great experience we had at this rental. First of all, I went to college in the immediate area, so know the town very well and the prices of most rentals. Considering the price AND the great, clean amenities, this was an ideal place to save money and spend it elsewhere, as they were running a special rate at the time (the regular rate is still affordable considering hotel costs). The kitchen had enough for morning coffee and any other food prep you desire (however, considering I was in Kailua, I vowed not to cook in this food paradise--there is so much good food nearby). The location was very clean and the bathroom looked newly remodeled. Parking was on the street, but always available. Lisa was kind enough to loan me her jogging stroller as I brought our 2 year old (once I heard that there were children making noises occasionally, I knew this was a great place where I didn't worry about disturbing a family either with our own noises). Regarding what others have reported as "negatives": yes, it's on a busy street, we found the window AC unit drowned out the street noise (you can also prepare with earplugs). However, if you have ever stayed in Waikiki or any other urban resort area, this is much more peaceful as the trash trucks alone will make you jump out of bed. The walkway is narrow, but have you ever walked through a parking garage, through a hotel lobby, up the elevator only to have the last room down the hall? I can guarantee you this is much easier. And, you are navigating a walkway with a washer/dryer that you will be thankful for towards the end of your trip. Finally, she is honest about having small children. We rarely heard them and didn't find it to be distracting at all. If you are home all day listening to her children, you need to get out more anyway, you are in Hawaii and if the sun is shining you should be under it! Aloha and thanks for a great stay, would return in a heartbeat!
Lisa thought of everything a visitor may need. The cottage was clean, roomy and in a great location. Just like hotels, there was a list of attractions, shopping and restaurants. The beach, shopping and eateries were so close and convenient. Great location and very inviting. Owners live on site and were very accommodating and helpful. We would recommend this property to everyone.
