AT B&B JORDAAN:
We are located inside the Jordaan-area which is a dense patch of small-scale streets and canals peppered with interesting shops, galleries, charming 'hofjes' and inviting brown cafes. Quirky and characterful, with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere of it's own. It was built for workers even before the 'Grachtengordel' (Canal-rings) were completed.
We have 2 doubles + one 4p-room available on your dates. Therefore our max is 8 persons, incl. the children (>2y).
We include a lovely Dutch breakfast on Mon>Fri. Our weekedprices ar therefor no higher then during the week. We also offer umbrella's, guidebooks, ‘take-away’ -novels & games on the premises.

Booked B & B from Thursday to Sunday advised on arrival that no breakfast served at weekends. Booked for a double room and 2 X 3 bed rooms, Got 2 twin and 1 family room with bunk beds for 2 of the adults, not suitable for the 81 year old travelling with us! Asked to not talk outside the property when leaving or arriving as this would upset the neighbours. Then asked to not make noise as it was the owners property. Not impressed.
This review makes me said. Both because our guests were disappointed but also because this could have been avoided. I just whished that they had paid better attention to what they booked. As in the text is says that all rooms have twinbeds (also to eb seen on teh pictures), that there is a high bed in the family room and that breakfast is offered only on mon.>> fri.
Please, when you are looking for accommodation, do read that information carefully before you book. We also like you to be happy but we can only offer what we have and not what you imagine.
And it is true that we are located in a very quiet, downtown, area. This is much appreciated by us, our guests and, ofcourse, also by our neighbours. However... you’re still welcome to talk on the street :) but we do ask the bigger groups, not to hang around, chatting outside our front door. As, over time, we know that our neighbours appreciate that. So we don’t only offer you a local perspective but we also ask you, a bit, to behave like one ;-).
Hoping to meeting you at some point in the future.
Met vriendelijke groet (kind regards),
Charlotte van Sante
Host and owner B&B Jordaan
I was disappointed that my family did not have all the amenities of staying in this home. The description was misleading. Not only were they not offered breakfast on the weekend there was no kitchen or even refrigerator for them to have a few meals at home, which made it difficult while traveling with young children.
Perfect Location, Legendary Host
The B&B could not have been in a more perfect location; just off the beaten track for some authentic local eateries, bars etc, yet near enough to the action and excitement of the centre of Amsterdam when needed! It was lovely and quiet, and the place was clean and very homely.
We enjoyed our stay very much - I certainly won't need to look anywhere else for a stay in the city next time.
Charlotte was wonderful, and even when one of our party effectively lost the keys, she did not get mad and we resolved the issue amicably and without fuss. I cannot recommend B&B Jordaan highly enough! :)
Great hosts, bedrooms and location
We were a group of 11, and they were very accommodating for such a large group. Nice, comfortable beds and great breakfast served to us in the mornings. Very centrally located, and Charlotte was very communicative and provided tons of great tips. I highly recommend.
Perfect in every way!
B&B Jordaan is perfect in every way! We spent 5 nights and loved every minute. The rooms are perfect. We had both rooms on the first floor. The room with the bunk beds was perfect for our two grandchildren and us to share! The breakfasts were delicious and delivered to our room. Every day, they were slightly different and always more than enough to fill you up for a busy day of sight seeing. Charlotte's tourist information was invaluable! Everyday, when deliverying our breakfast, Chatlotte would inquire about our plans for the day. She gave us suggestions of places to see and the best way to get to the sight. You can not go wrong staying at B&B Jordaan!
Charlotte saved my vacation!!
My boyfriend and I were on a weeklong vacation in Amsterdam and stayed at the B&B Jordaan. Charlotte put us in the ground floor garden room—if you're staying for more than a few days, book the garden room! It's sunny, has a table and chairs for eating outside, gets light all day long, and is floral and beautiful.
Every morning Charlotte brought us a delicious Dutch breakfast, which consisted of a rotating menu of sliced meats, cheeses, yogurt or a hard boiled egg, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a selection of breads. We never had breakfast anywhere else, the food was so good. We had a french press for coffee and a tea kettle for tea that stayed in the room throughout our trip—good for me because I like tea all day long!
Charlotte was beyond helpful—you couldn't ask for more. She gave us a long list of delicious local restaurants, then pointed them out on a map so we could find our way. We were allowed use of the Amsterdam info books she kept on hand, and because we were kitchen adjacent, she even allowed us to keep some leftovers in the fridge. This is a place to stay when you want to feel at home!
Most importantly, at least for me, was how helpful Charlotte was all around. I have a problem with my left sacroiliac joint, which falls out of place, causing one side of my body to be higher than the other, and resulting in constant pain. Unfortunately, after 3 days of walking in the wrong shoes, I threw out the joint worse than I have ever done before. We told Charlotte, and she immediately called her manual therapist (Chiropractor, for the Americans), who was unfortunately away on vacation. The office suggested sending me to some freshly graduated medical students, and Charlotte said absolutely not—I needed someone with experience. Within a day I had an appointment with the manual therapist who works on the Dutch National Ballet Company. I was fixed within a day, and I truly believe had I stayed anywhere else, I would have , I would have either been waiting in an emergency room for an entire day, or suffered through the rest of the trip in pain—never mind the 8-hour plan ride back home.
Charlotte saved my vacation! We've already told Charlotte we will be back next year, & plan on it. B&B Jordaan truly felt like home, and suffice it to say, it was very difficult for us to leave. The beds were incredibly comfortable; the room was cool, clean, and private; the neighborhood is a family neighborhood with lots of kids, nice antique shops, bakeries, restaurants.
The Jordaan is a dense patch of small-scale streets and canals peppered with interesting shops, galleries, charming 'hofjes' and inviting brown cafes. Quirky and characterful, with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere of it's own. It was built for workers even before the 'Grachtengordel' (Canal-rings) were completed.
