Fishbone is a colorful Caribbean cottage on the private south shore of St. John. It is 2 story with 2 baths, one bedroom, queen sofa bed in the living room and lots of deck space.
You hear the crashing surf and have a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea. There are hummingbirds and bananquit birds, great star-gazing at night. (You can see the Southern Cross and the Big Dipper in one sky!)
Walk to beaches. Easy hikes are to Ditleff Point and Reef Bay where you may be the only ones on the beach, or a short drive to public beaches. Fishbone is for privacy and nature.
Truely an magical place! Pictures just cannot discribe this cottage. All who arrive at Fishbone are struck with awe. We have many return guests. Concider yourselves blessed if you find this place. You will never forget it!!
Cruz Bay is only 3 miles to the night happenings. Or 2 miles to the Westin Resort for fine dining and a piano bar.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2002
It has the privacy of the south shore. Al the surveyor saw the cottage as one of the first choice lots with panoramic views of the Caribbean and perched where the tropical breeze is captured. It is a traditional caribbean cottage.
Convenience to amenities, 2.5 miles to the town, ferry, dining and entertainment in Cruz Bay, yet secluded enough as we say, to be clothing optional. :)
This cute cottage, fishbone was perfect for our trip. The concierge, Gina was very helpful. She helped us get a jeep and escorted to the cottage and gave us a house tour. The view from the deck was magnificent and we had breeze all the time, no need of AC at all. You would wanna have a jeep to get to this cottage, but also great to driving around the island. We loved waking up with sunrise (or bit later), did morning yoga on the "yoga deck", and breakfast on upstairs deck. We spend a lot of time on the beach and ocean during daytime, went to cruz bay or coral bay at night. Coming back to fishbone made us relaxed after long day of activities. Outdoor shower overlooking the bay complete our day in St John. We recommend fishbone to all guests.
The unit was as described, beautiful views and all necessary items for us to make a for a nice base of exploration for 5 days. Plenty of seating, indoors and out, very responsive on island guides and when we had a minor problem with the power (causing the pump to be reset) the issue was fixed quickly. The only minor caution is that the drive up to fishbone and the driveway itself is not for the faint of heart! Steep and narrow!
When at the house we spent most of our time on the lovely decks looking out at the water. We could hear the waves crashing and birds singing. It is a quiet area away from town, but not too far. We had everything that we needed. It was nice to have beach towels, chairs and a cooler available to use for our beach excursions.
Getting to the property was not a problem thanks to Gina:)
We would highly recommend this home.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at Fish Bone! Perfect hide away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Perfect views, clean every detail tended to. You will not be disappointed. Best for 1 couple only, because you do not want to miss outdoor shower .
Fruit trees for your breakfast enjoyment, grill for dinner at night, working wifi for movies or music.
Thanks to Gina also for answering any questions we might have had.
Memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

We had a great time celebrating our 10 year anniversary at Fishbone! It is even better in person. The views are spectacular and the cottage is stocked with everything needed to enjoy St John. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of adventure. We loved the outdoor shower and stargazing on the awesome decks! Gina was great, very helpful and easy to work with. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to return sometime!
I loved the location, the landscaping of the property, and the views. The downstairs bedroom had a very comfortable bed, and you had an amazing view of Fish Bay right from the bed. It was beautiful watching the sun come up in the morning from bed. Sunsets were also amazing in the evenings from either deck. The downstairs bedroom is the only room with AC, but we did not use the AC at all while we were there; the breezes kept us cool. The beach chairs, and umbrella were nice extras. The gas grill did run out of propane while we were there, but the property manager came out the next day with a new tank. The stove/oven also had a gas/regulator issue and stopped working on the last night of our stay, but we just used the grill instead, so it was not a huge inconvenience. Adding a TV upstairs would be nice, but the cottage had everything we needed. I loved it at Fishbone, and I would definitely come back.
My two adult children and I stayed here for 5 days. Gina the property manager was accessible before the trip and met us at the car ferry. We followed her to the propery and she showed us around and provided navigation tips. The bbq gas ran out and she quickly replaced the cylinder. The gas for the stove/oven broke on next to last day of visit. Unfortunately Gina could not get this fixed before we left as the gas company had to come fix it and they work on "island time". Fortunately the water is on electric so we could get hot showers and we cooked on the bbq. Just a minor inconvenience. The property is absolutely beautiful. The views and landscaping are gorgeous. Gina was very helpful. I recommend staying here.
St. John is a small, quiet, Caribbean island with over one half a National Park. With about 4,000 year round residents, it never feels crowded. Beautiful beaches and hiking trails are many. Coral reefs surrounding St. John offering excellent snorkeling & diving. In Cruz Bay, a 5 minute drive, are many wonderful restaurants as well as unique shopping.
