The cabin has direct access to millions of acres of trails and beautiful scenery.
Within 1-2 miles is the Mickelson trail which runs over 100 miles from Deadwood to Edgemont. The Hills most beautiful lakes, Sylvan, Legion, Bismark, and Stockade are all within 6-15 miles for great fishing, swimming or boating. Custer and neighboring Hill City have tons of unique shops and galleries. The local golf course is within 1 mile, or drive to Hot Spring to the golf course voted '#1 9 hole golf course in North America' by Golf Digest.
Of course Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial are within 5-20 minutes. Custer State Park, 6-7 miles east, has one of the largest free roaming Buffalo herds in the world, as well as wild burros, big horn sheep, prairie dogs, deer etc. In October is the Buffalo Roundup with a 2 day Arts Festival. Visitors can watch the actual round-up of the Buffalo. They are sorted and some are sold at the Buffalo Auction later in the fall.
My favorite is the caves-- Wind Cave National Park and Jewel Cave National monument.
Jewel Cave National Monument is 7 miles and Wind Cave National Park is 15 miles and are both world class caves with scenic and spelunking tours.
Bikers --We are located 2 miles outside of Custer and about 75 scenic miles from Sturgis. There is about 3/4 mile of well maintained gravel road from the highway to the cabin. There is a large barn w/concrete floor to store bikes and trailers.

Sports & Adventure Activities
This home has it all, views, wildlife and serenity. It is located close to all activities with easy access. It is tucked away in your own little corner of the Black Hills, yet close enough to all. The home was beautiful with all the comforts of home. Everything was very clean and many amenities were avaliable. The owners really made us feel welcome and at home. We will definately return to the Black Hills and this home will be our first choice for base camp. I would highly recommend this home to my friends and to anyone who just needs and quiet place to relax.
We love the mountains
What a wonderful setting for a much needed break for my family.
Jukebox playing every morning and evening while breakfast and dinner were cooked
Pinball battles between everyone each day to see who would come out on top!! Sitting on the spacious porch every morning and evening looking for wildlife. Birds, marmots, deer, coyotes, barn cats didn’t disappoint. So close to all places we wanted to visit, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Wind Cave, Needles Hwy, sylvan Lake and lots of other interesting drives through the mountains. It’s a must see and most certainly a must stay!! Would do it again in a heartbeat!
All of us enjoyed our stay completely. We may come again.
Spring Break Week
We took our granddaughters to the Black Hills for their spring break and rented this log cabin. What a nice place to use as home base for a week. It was comfortable, clean and entertaining. The pinball machine and jukebox were a good experience for the kids. We appreciated the grill on the deck making supper at the end of each day very easy. The setting is beautiful and we truly felt like we had a great vacation.
Beautiful, Quiet location
We loved this peaceful location on a beautiful acreage with pretty views! The home had everything we could have wanted for a quiet get away. Loved warming up by the toasty pellet stove. 5 minutes from superb restaurants too.
Thank you so much for coming to enjoy a quiet cozy winter getaway. Glad you enjoyed it and hope you can come back again soon.
So beautiful! So fun! We got there and the water heater had an issue and the owner offered another cabin to us right away. We told her it was fine we were only staying two days. Then we ended up going home early because our daughter with special needs just couldn’t wait the two days to shower 😬 the owner refunded us for the remainder of the stay. So nice and she didn’t have to do that. We loved staying here and cannot wait to book again and in the future with the same owner on any other cabins she has. But this cabin is awesome!
Thank you so much for your kind words and patience. Water heater started leaking on a Saturday night but these nice guests opted to stay instead of moving to a nearby larger cabin. My awesome repair man also offered to come out first thing on a Sunday! The water heater has been replaced and hopefully these guests will can come back and enjoy a trouble free vacation.
Biking--near Mickelson Trail.
