Absolutely Charming 3BR/2BA Home just Minutes from the Beach Sleeps 6
About Lorie Wiebrecht
I was born in Bar Harbor and my entire family lives or works only 5 minutes from our rental homes. My husband was born in Wisconsin and he fell in love with MDI the first time I took him there in 1996. He knew even before I did that we MUST have our own property there so that we would always have an excuse to go north whenever we could! Mt. Desert Island is such a beautiful place - we both are so thankful that we can experience it many times a year and I must say that we are struck by the beauty and the solitude every time we go 'home.' We hope that you truly have a wonderful time whether it is your first experience or you have been visiting for 20 years. My Dad's motto is...'If you come to Maine one time it won't be your last time.' Of course he is pretty bias on the subject - having lived in Bar Harbor all his life! I wish everyone could get one of his Island tours-they are awesome to say the least! He started working as a chauffeur at age 15 and he can tell some stories. He and my Mom owned several restaurants and motels and even developed the largest campground on the Island, Bar Harbor Campground which my youngest brother now manages. Seems like our family has been in the hospitality trade forever and...with all that experience we have certainly learned how to take good care of our guests!

I visited Bar Harbor with my husband, and in-laws from June 9th - June 14th. I could not be happier with our HomeAway choice! Lorie's place was even better than advertised online. The first thing I noticed was just how clean the cabin is - This property is extremely well kept. There is plenty of room for a family of 6 to sleep comfortably. There were four TV's (one in each room, and one in each living space on the first floor and basement level) and they came equipped with cable. We did not take advantage, but the house also has a closest full of games. The shower, toilet, laundry machines, were all in excellent condition. The kitchen was also fully stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal. The house location was superb. Close to Acadia National Park (about 10 minutes from the entrance) and 15 minutes from the center of the Town Square. Highly recommend this property! Lorie was also a fantastic host, checking in with us to make sure we had what we needed, and she was clear with her instructions on how to check-out. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Lorie!
Perfect Acadia lodge!
We cannot say enough nice things about our stay at Spruce Lodge! The entire house is spotless and had absolutely everything we needed to be completely comfortable for our week in Acadia. The furniture and beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms were sparkling clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make most of our meals 'at home'. Spruce Lodge is in a wonderful location - we enjoyed the deck and the peaceful wooded area around the house, and we appreciated how easy it was to get from the house to the Hulls Cove entrance to Acadia, the Bar Harbor waterfront area, Southwest Harbor and out to Schoodic Peninsula. We were all quite sad when it was time to leave and sincerely hope we will get to visit Spruce Lodge OFTEN! Lorie answered all of our questions quickly and offered wonderful tips for where to buy groceries in advance, activities in the area, etc. Thank you Lorie for a most wonderful week In Acadia! You have made Spruce Lodge feel completely like home!
Our family of four recently enjoyed a stay at Spruce Lodge...it exceeded all expectations! The cabin was clean with many (and much appreciated!) amenities, including a well stocked kitchen, washer & dryer, and plenty of space for our 8 and 11 year olds to play. During our stay, we spent the majority of our time exploring Acadia, and the location was close to the Hulls Cove entrance. We also enjoyed the brief walk from the house to the beach at Hadley Point. We truly enjoyed our vacation to Maine!
Fantastic Property in an Excellent Location!
Lori has done a fabulous job of equipping her place to be a wonderful vacation home. There is a well equipped kitchen, beautiful furnishings, comfortable beds, and a great setting. The
sleeping areas on three floors make this a great place for a group to spread out. I appreciated the thorough instructions as well as the detailed list of suggestions for activities, shopping, and food in the area. Additionally, the house was spotless and so well decorated. If you are looking for a classic Maine experience in a beautiful setting, I recommend you book this place!
Perfect Northwoods Retreat.
Our host Lorie was very attentive to all our needs. Such a clean and well appointed home. So quiet and peaceful in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!!!
Thank you Anne!
I really enjoy getting to know my guests and learning what special attention I can give them to make their vacation especially memorable.
This group had some hurdles to climb before they could make their desire to make the trek to Maine a reality. Their persistence and focus and FAITH paid off and they loved their Maine experience and I was so happy to be a part of it.
If you are dreaming of travelling to Maine so that YOU can experience the beauty and solitude of Acadia National Park please contact me so that I can help make your vacation experience the best that it can be!
Thank you! Lorie
Lovely Home in Quiet Picturesque Setting
Lori, the owner, was very helpful and accessible before and after we arrived. Her home is spotless and was ideal for our needs with bedrooms on 3 separate floors which afforded the 5 adults with privacy. Lori, thought of everything - bathrooms had toilet paper, tissues, soap, towels, kitchen was fully well equipped, and laundry room was stocked with detergent. The house came with beach towels and chairs. We loved the walk to Hadley Pt to watch the sunset and meteor showers! The home has a lovely deck to sit outside and enjoy the surrounding woodlands. Her home is a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We came for a destination wedding but can see why people love to vacation here!
Oh, thank you, Linda!
It always make me so happy to hear that groups who don't always travel together have enough room to spread out and to be comfort at Spruce Lodge.
The different levels really work well for that! Plus there are 2 large gathering areas where you can watch TV, play games or just talk or read...together or by yourself.
It is also wonderful to have (or to attend) a wedding on our beautiful Island! The photos are always amazing and everyone falls in love with the place. What's not to love??!!
It is also really special when those couples come back year after year to celebrate their anniversaries and many times MDI becomes their family vacation place. So sweet!
Whatever your vision...for a great vacation...please give me a call and I can share the options that we have for you! Thank you~Lorie
