|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Awake to breath taking morning sunrises, enjoy beach living steps away, and then lay back to view more stars than you have ever seen before.
Our modern, but extremely homey, vacation home is only 12 years old, 1400 square feet, with knotty pine walls floor to ceiling throughout.
As you enter Lake Huron is visible, beyond the 22 foot vaulted ceiling, from every angle of the main floor. A full service kitchen, with one year old appliances, bath with shower, stack-able washer and dryer, and gas fireplace complete the main floor.
The second floor has three bedrooms and a bath with a two person jetted tub. The master bedroom has a king size bed, dresser and closet. Enjoy panoramic sunrise and lake views through one glass wall. The second bedroom has twin beds and dressers. The third bedroom has modern “T” shaped bunk beds with a dresser and desk.
This awesome home has two decks on the lake side. One is attached to the house and the other is at lake side. The lake side deck has a built-in fire pit for roasting marshmallows while you enjoy evenings listening to the waves and watching the stars.
East Tawas lighthouse and state park are approximately 2 miles East and downtown East Tawas and Bay are approximately 4 miles South. There are numerous beaches in the area or walk four houses from your front door and enjoy beach fun on your own nearby expansive sandy beach. Many other activities such as biking, hiking, and fishing are available in the immediate area.

Our fully appointed summer home sets on a private road which is boarded by woods on the West and Lake Huron on the East. The magnificent lake view is only one of the natural wonders that fill your senses. The miles of beach to explore take you down an ever changing shoreline. The American Bald Eagle has made a strong comeback in this area and is often seen soaring above the Lake. After dark the Tawas area has few outdoor lights, consequently viewing the night sky, stars, and solar system is phenomenal.
Thank you to Don and Judy for sharing your wonderful home! My wife, kids (ages 7 & 9) and I had a great time. The beach house is a perfect size for a family with two to four kids. It has everything you need to feel at home. The yard, deck and lake front are perfect for playing and relaxing. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all of the restaurants and ice cream shops in town (Mr. Jack'ss, G's Pizzeria, Marion's Dairy, etc.). The State Park and lighthouse is a fairly easy bike ride from the beach house. The Lumberman's Monument was well worth the trip as well. Give this property a shot. You will not be disappointed!
House- Perfect for a family vacation. You do have the feeling of being up North but are only 10 minutes away from downtown East Tawas. The house is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Located right on Lake Huron on a very quiet street. The sun rising over the lake is breathtaking. We were able to enjoy a full moon. The Kelly's provide a telescope so you can enjoy the night sky. The Tall Ships came back up from Bay City, many sail boats and freighters. The Lighthouse/Tawas State park is 3 miles away.
Restaurants/Shopping-So many to choose from. We enjoyed G's pizza and Mr. Jack'ss. We stayed away from downtown on Friday and Saturday(very busy). We went into town on Tuesday and Wednesday and were seated immediately. Many, many cute shops for shopping with unique and unusual gifts. If you're looking for t-shirts or sweatshirts with East Tawas on it, visit Ben Franklin first.
Lakefront- The house has a two tiered deck that is right on lake that you can enjoy the view from. At this time, there is no safe access from the deck to the lake because of the lake level being high and the stairs were damaged over the winter. There are boulders to left that you can get down, but it was hard for my 7 and 9 year old and for me. There is lake access that is just 3 houses down with a small beach. It was not an inconvenience . Sandy, sandy bottom that we enjoyed. We were able to swim/walk and look at the houses from the lakeside. We did use the 2 beaches in town which are beautiful too. The kids were able to make new friends while playing at the beach .
I would highly recommend this house for rental. But of course, there were a few things that we saw. The lakeside decks needed to be sanded and sealed. Was afraid of my children getting slivers and were constantly telling them to put on their shoes. There is no air conditioning and only 2 small fans were provided. We did have 2-90° days. A bigger fan is needed. You can strategically place the fans and work with the natural breezes from the lake to cool the house. And my last suggestion, binoculars . We found ourselves many times wanting to get a closer look at the freighters and the ships that were going by.
Thank you for sharing your house.
This is a great stay! The location was amazing, peaceful, and just down right restful.
The owners were very nice and very easy to work with. The beach front rental was so nice and accommodating.
The water and beach areas were perfect. Our family had a great time and will most definitely be back!
We have been to this beach house for the last 3 years and booking it for next year as well. We just love the location and being right on the water! We bring our bikes to ride with our kids and just set out on adventures. We ride into town or to the light house. We have our special places we must go to when we visit. Such as Mr. Jack'ss, G's pizza and the old fashioned candy store :)
Every one is so nice and such a much needed break from our hectic lives! I highly recommend this beach house. It is home away from home!
This was our first family vacation in a while. We loved the house, the lay out and the beach! I really liked that my daughter who is 1 years old could not access the lake easily!
We brought our bikes with us. We spent time riding to the light house or riding into town with our kids (1 and 4 years old). My son and I loved walking the beach and building sand castles. At night my favorite thing to do was to listen the waves. Such a change from the hustle and bustle we hear at our house.
I would high reccomend the the property. We have already asked for week next year! Can't wait to go back.
This was a great location for our sisters reunion! The house was roomy, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful view and access to the lake. The lake itself was cold and clean, a welcome relief from the high heat and humidity in our home towns. We especially enjoyed the proximity to lovely Tawas Point State Park where we toured the lighthouse and enjoyed two sunsets on the beach. I found it was worthwhile to purchase a season pass since we went there four times during the week. Birders will want to visit Tuttle Marsh which is about a half hour drive. On that same drive, we also enjoyed the Lumberjack Memorial and the 280 steps down (and back up!) to the Au Sable River. Highly recommended for everyone, as long as you can climb steep stairs to the bedrooms on the second floor.
